Chapter 422 Proposal

Heather stood up, a bit shaky but full of anticipation, and asked, "Mr. Young, what brings you to the Johnson family this time?"

Tyler smiled and said, "I'm here to propose! Aunt Sandra sent Barbara's info to my family, and everyone was thrilled. So, I came to Houston just for this!"

Heather's face lit up with excitement.

The Young family actually wanted to propose to the Johnson family!

If this marriage happened, the Johnsons would be in-laws with Mr. Young, opening up a world of opportunities!

In her excitement, Heather noticed Tyler was empty-handed.

She thought, 'Even if you're the eldest son of the Young family, coming to propose without any gifts is a bit off!'

Tyler noticed Heather's look.

He calmly pulled out a bank card and said, "This card has 1 billion dollars as a proposal gift! Plus, the Young family has a sand factory in Houston worth about five to six hundred million dollars, and that's also a gift. Please accept it!"

The Johnson family was stunned for a few seconds!

Then they couldn't hide their joy!

Such generosity! The Johnson family had never seen this much money!

What a windfall!

Especially Heather, who seemed rejuvenated with excitement.

She grabbed Tyler's hand and said, "Great! You're definitely a worthy son-in-law for the Johnson family. I'll make the decision for this marriage!"

Tyler nodded, then looked around and asked, "Where's Barbara? Can I see her?"

"Well..." Heather and Sandra exchanged uneasy glances.

Meanwhile, at Platan Height Villa, Sarah stopped with Ava at a bedroom door on the second floor, opened it, and said, "Here's your room!"

Ava peeked inside.

The spacious bedroom was warm and pink, with cute decorative dolls on the bedside table and desk.

There was even a life-sized teddy bear pillow on the bed!

The whole room looked like a little princess's fairy tale room!

Ava's eyes welled up.

She remembered the three years she spent with the Johnson family, in a tiny, windowless, damp, and dark 40-square-foot room.

Living in such a big house was beyond her dreams!

"You're so nice!" Ava hugged Sarah tightly.

Sarah patted Ava's head and said softly, "Ryder bought this house, why thank me? You and Ryder have been through a lot, now it's time to enjoy life!"

Ava nodded obediently.

At that moment, Ryder said to Ava, "Ava, come with me, I need to talk to you."

"Okay!" Ava followed Ryder into the bedroom.

Seeing they had something private to discuss, Sarah didn't disturb them and closed the door.

Downstairs, Rex was busy cooking lunch in the kitchen.

In the living room, Barbara was curled up on the sofa, hugging her long legs and lost in thought.

Even Sarah, proud of her perfect figure, felt a twinge of envy at Barbara's model-like legs!

Sure, Sarah had a slight disadvantage in leg length, but her bigger cup size gave her confidence!

Sarah sat across from Barbara and smiled, "What's on your mind? Still thinking about the airport incident?"

Barbara pouted. "I couldn't care less about that!"

"Then why do you look so distracted? Thinking about a guy?" Sarah teased.

"No way!" Barbara snapped, like a cat whose tail had been stepped on.

Realizing she overreacted, she lowered her voice and said, "I'm actually thinking about something else."

"What is it?" Sarah asked.

Barbara glanced upstairs, then leaned in close to Sarah and whispered, "I heard you say before that Ava isn't actually related to him by blood, right?"

Sarah nodded, "Yeah, Ryder told me Ava was adopted from an orphanage by his dad years ago. They're not blood-related, but their bond is stronger than real siblings! Why are you asking?"

Barbara lowered her voice even more. "It's my first time meeting Ava, and she's stunning. Whenever she looks at Ryder, her eyes are full of admiration, almost like worship! They've been together for so many years, their bond must be deep. Aren't you worried that one day, they might..."

"What nonsense are you talking about?" Sarah cut her off.

"Ryder and Ava are just siblings, and besides, Ava's still in high school. She's just a kid. How could she understand so much?"

"But..."

"No buts! But you, at your age, still going for the Japanese youth style, don't you have a guy you like? If you do, tell me. I'll help you out!"

"No! I don't like men!" Barbara pouted and rejected Sarah's concern.

But after saying that, she felt a strange emptiness in her heart.

"Ryder, what do you want to tell me?" Ava asked, her big eyes blinking.

Ryder asked, "When you were hospitalized abroad, Senior Mr. Brown must have told you about our father, right?"

Ava nodded obediently.

In fact, after learning everything, she was shocked for a long time before gradually accepting it. Everything seemed so unreal!

Ryder said, "This matter is confidential. You must not talk about it outside. I'm worried it might bring trouble."

"I'll keep it strictly confidential!" Ava nodded, then suddenly thought of something and asked, "Ryder, was our father killed by someone?"

Ryder was stunned, not expecting Ava to ask that suddenly.

"Why do you say that?"

Ava replied, "I don't know, it's just that our father's death years ago seemed suspicious. It didn't seem like he died of a terminal illness, but rather was framed by someone we don't know. Of course, maybe it's just my imagination!"
