Chapter 359 I Have No Evidence!
"I certainly understand!" Ryder said.
He nodded, his gaze piercing as he stared at Mark. "Then let me say this: my fate is decided by me, not by you. Got it?"
As soon as he said this, the atmosphere at the dinner table became instantly tense!
Sandra sneered inwardly, 'Ryder, you think you're so great. You usually act all high and mighty, and now you dare to talk back to Mark in this tone.
'Can't you see the situation and the occasion?'
Mark's eyes narrowed coldly. "Mr. Clark, don't you feel guilty saying that?"
Ryder shrugged. "Why should I feel guilty?"
Mark suddenly slammed the table with both hands.
He stood up, glaring at Ryder like a lion about to go berserk, and shouted, "You killed Kenneth, and you don't feel guilty?"
If it were an ordinary person, they might have been trembling in fear at Mark's imposing manner!
But for Ryder, having weathered countless storms and ups and downs over the past twenty years, he had long developed an extraordinarily strong mindset!
He remained calm, meeting Mark's gaze with a composed look, and replied word by word, "I didn't kill Kenneth!"
Mark's voice dropped to a menacing tone. "Mr. Clark, you don't even dare to admit what you've done?"
Ryder responded, "I didn't do it, so why should I admit it?"
Mark sneered, "Ryder! It seems I really overestimated you!"
As he spoke, he clapped his hands and said, "Bring the person in!"
The door creaked open, and two burly men in black uniforms entered, dragging a struggling figure between them.
They unceremoniously tossed the person onto the floor.
When Ryder saw this person, his eyes narrowed—it was Ronald!
Ronald was no longer the spirited man he had seen a few days ago!
His face was covered in bruises, two of his teeth were knocked out, and his hair was a mess!
It was clear he had suffered inhuman abuse!
Mark spoke, "Ryder, do you recognize this person?"
Ryder shook his head. "I don't know him!"
The reason he answered this way was because Ryder had been in disguise when he went to the underground fight club that day and had no direct interaction with Ronald, so naturally, he didn't know him!
But just as he finished speaking, Ronald, lying on the ground, suddenly roared at Ryder like a mad dog. "You're lying! You clearly know me, why are you lying?"
Hearing this, Ryder said, "Accusations are easy to make. When did I ever know you?"
Ronald's face turned red with anger. "You conspired with me to deceive Kenneth, causing him to lose $200 million in cash and a vacation villa, but now you deny it! Good for you, Ryder, you really screwed me over. I didn't expect you to be such a bastard!"
Ryder's expression remained unfazed. He had anticipated Ronald was being used as a pawn.
His calm demeanor did not waver as he replied, "Ronald, you might be misunderstanding something. When it comes to dealing with Kenneth, I can handle it on my own."
"What did you say?" Ronald's eyes widened in fury!
"What? Not convinced?" Ryder sneered, "People like you, no matter how many, would only lower my status, you understand?"
Mark's expression turned somewhat grim!
Ryder's behavior had been chaotic and unpredictable from the start.
Mark had expected someone of Ryder’s stature to admit to Kenneth’s death, but Ryder had steadfastly denied any involvement.
"If I don't present evidence, you won't admit it, will you?” Mark muttered.
He turned around and took a stack of documents from the drawer under the memorial table.
Then he threw these documents in front of Ryder.
"Look at these things, don't they seem familiar?"
Ryder picked up the documents and quickly scanned through them!
His expression gradually turned to surprise!
The documents were divided into two main sections:
The first part was Kenneth's death analysis report, which detailed that he had been sexually assaulted before his death.
The second part was the confession record from the dump truck driver, directly accusing Ryder of being the murderer.
The record also included a transaction history showing SR Group had transferred money to the driver.
Although he had anticipated that Kenneth's death might cause trouble for him, or be used to frame him, he didn't expect the other party to be so well-prepared.
The transaction record from SR Group appeared legitimate, raising serious questions about how it had come into play.
Ryder certainly believed that Sarah wouldn't do such a thing!
He thought, 'Could it be that there is a traitor within SR Group?'
At this moment, Ronald immediately spoke up, "Ryder, you told me before that you wanted to hire someone to run over Kenneth with a car. I even advised you against it, but you actually did it! Do you have any conscience?"
After saying this, he turned to Mark with a tearful face and pleaded, "Mr. Davis, I really didn't mean to harm Kenneth. This was all Ryder's plot. I was momentarily confused. Please forgive me!"
Mark kicked Ronald to the ground, not even sparing him a glance!
He stared at Ryder and questioned, "Do you have anything to say now?"
Ryder placed the documents on the table, sighed, and smiled bitterly. "Given the current situation, I really have nothing to say, or even if I did, it wouldn't matter! After all, this is what you believed from the start, isn't it?"
Mark said coldly, "If you can provide evidence that Kenneth's death has nothing to do with you, you might still have a chance to save your life!"
Ryder looked indifferent. "Kenneth's death has nothing to do with me, but I have no evidence to prove it!"
Hearing this, Sandra immediately incited, "Mr. Clark, look at this arrogant guy! Why waste time arguing with him? Just kill him already. How else can we satisfy Kenneth’s spirit?"
