Chapter 410 Help

Upon hearing this, Sarah didn't shut him down like she usually did. She just seemed kinda shy and hesitant, lowering her head with a flushed face.

Seeing this, Ryder decided to strike while the iron was hot. "Don't worry. Just a kiss. I won't go any further!"

"Really?" Sarah looked up at Ryder, kinda skeptical.

"Definitely." Ryder nodded quickly, his face all serious and determined.

"Alright then!" Sarah answered nervously.

She then slowly closed her eyes, her damp, long eyelashes trembling slightly.

Looking at Sarah's lips, Ryder took a deep breath, getting ready to kiss her!

Suddenly, a familiar voice shouted from the next room, "Ryder? Is that you? Help! Please save me! If you don't, I'm toast!"

The person shouting was Sandra, making Ryder frown in annoyance.

At this critical moment, why was she screaming?

But he pretended not to hear and went in for the kiss with Sarah!

Sandra's voice rang out again. "Help! Please save me! Ryder, I know you can hear me. If you save me, I'll do anything you ask from now on!"

As she shouted, there was also the sound of Sandra banging on the basement door!

At this moment, Sarah opened her eyes.

Her gaze was filled with confusion and she murmured, "I think I just heard Sandra's voice!"

Ryder frowned and said, "Just ignore her. If it weren't for her schemes, you wouldn't have suffered so much!"

"But..."

"No buts! Let's just focus on each other!"

At this point, Ryder couldn't stop and didn't want Sandra to ruin his moment.

This time, Sandra's voice was hoarse and tearful. "I truly know I was wrong! Ryder, Sarah, I can hear you two talking. I apologize! I feel guilty for everything I've done! I beg you. Please save me. Don't abandon me! Even if you don't consider the Johnson family, or me, think about Annie. If she finds out in the future that you let her mother die, what will she think?"

When Sarah heard this, her expression changed slightly. She suggested to Ryder, "Ryder, I think she makes a good point. Maybe we should save her this time?"

Ryder asked, "Are you sure?"

Sarah answered, "I'm not. I just feel..."

Seeing her conflicted expression, Ryder sighed. "Alright, how about this, you go talk to her before making a decision."

Ryder helped Sarah up, and they walked to the next door!

The upper part of the basement door was made of high-strength glass, and the rest was metal.

It was impossible to break from the inside!

They looked inside through the glass to see Sandra standing inside, disheveled and wild-eyed, looking like a madwoman!

When she saw Ryder and Sarah, Sandra's tears welled up. She cried out, pressing her face against the glass. "You finally came. Open the door and get me out!"

Seeing Sandra like this, Sarah couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness. She had known Sandra for over twenty years and had never seen her so miserable and wretched!

Furthermore, since Sandra was stuck in the basement right next to hers, Sarah could hear everything from the next room—Sandra getting cursed, punished, beaten, and even assaulted by Mark's goons!

These circumstances were intolerable for any woman, especially someone as strong and proud as Sandra! Sarah instinctively felt pity.

When she was about to say something, Ryder spoke coldly to Sandra, "Who said we came to save you?"

Sandra, who was crying, was stunned.

Sarah also looked at Ryder in confusion but didn't speak immediately.

After all, having been with Ryder for so long, she gradually understood that Ryder always had his reasons and intentions for everything he did.

So, it was best not to speak out of turn.

Sandra looked confused. "If you're not here to save me, then what?"

A hint of mockery flashed in Ryder's eyes. "I'm here to admire the legendary beauty and grace of Ms. Johnson. If time permits, I'd like to see what it looks like when you are locked inside and die of thirst and hunger!"

When Sandra heard Ryder's harsh words, her heart surged with anger!

Her first reaction was to curse Ryder, but the situation quickly made her hold back!

There was no choice; in the face of life and death, dignity was nothing compared to survival!

Her eyes twitched, and she continued to plead. "Ryder, I know you resent me, and I understand it's all my fault, but please, be the bigger person and save me. I promise, from now on, I'll do whatever you ask, okay?"

Ryder's lips curled into a cold smile, and he asked, "Do you think I will trust you? Your words mean nothing to me."

"I..." Sandra's expression froze.

Taking a deep breath, Sandra tried to compose herself, knowing that if she lost control, she would give up on pleading!

She thought, 'Ryder! Just you wait! I'll settle this score with you!'

In the next moment, Sandra gritted her teeth and suddenly knelt before Ryder and Sarah.

"I'm so, so sorry!" she choked out, her voice barely a whisper. "Please, please, I'm begging you, let me out!"

Seeing this, Sarah couldn't bear to stand by anymore. With red eyes, she said, "Ryder! She is so pitiful. We should save her. She seems subdued now, and unlikely to cause further trouble."

Hearing this, Sandra also said, "Yes! Sarah is right. I promise not to do bad things again!"

She looked at Ryder with pleading eyes, waiting for Ryder's agreement.

Ryder squinted his eyes, seemingly deep in thought.

After a good ten seconds, he finally spoke, "Alright, we'll save you this time!"

Sandra's face lit up with joy!

Just as she was about to stand up, Ryder added, "But there's a condition!"
