Chapter 42 Answer Me
Matthew frowned in confusion. "Why is he running here at this hour?"
Andy sneered, "This useless guy must have heard about Sarah's situation and came here to beg Grandpa to save that bitch!"
Grandpa Johnson impatiently ordered the driver, "Ignore this troublemaker! Let's continue driving."
The driver nodded and honked the horn, signaling Ryder to move aside.
But Ryder stood still in his place, locking his gaze tight on the car.
He raised his hand and pointed at them, shouting in a deep voice, "All of you, get out of the car!"
Grandpa Johnson was startled by the demand!
The most useless son-in-law of his own family asked them to get out of the car!
Andy rolled down the car window and cursed at Ryder, "Who are you talking to? Get out of the way. I have other things to do tonight, I don't have time to deal with you."
Ryder ignored him and walked straight towards him.
He grabbed Andy by the collar and said coldly, "I have a question for you. Where is Sarah?"
Andy was already filled with anger and couldn't bear being grabbed by Ryder. "If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have suffered tonight! I didn't want to trouble you, but you dare to grab my collar! Let go of me!"
Even before he finished speaking, Ryder slapped him hard.
Ryder stared at him with a sinister gaze. "I'm asking you a question! Answer me!"
Andy was so angry that he cursed. "Fuck!"
Another slap followed.
"Answer me!"
Andy trembled and tried to break free.
But his body was already tortured by Sam, and he didn't have as much strength as Ryder. He couldn't break free at all.
He could only cry out to the people in the car with a mournful face. "Grandpa! Dad! Can't you see how arrogant Ryder is? Won't you stand up for me?"
Grandpa Johnson's face turned pale. "Today, I'm going to teach you a lesson on behalf of the Johnson family! Matthew, help me out of the car!"
Matthew helped Grandpa Johnson out of the car.
Grandpa Johnson walked unsteadily and commanded Ryder in a trembling voice, "Release Andy!"
Ryder's gloomy gaze fell upon Grandpa Johnson, whose voice was already trembling. "Where is Sarah? Answer me!"
Those familiar with Ryder knew that speaking with such a tone was a display of extreme anger.
When Emily called Ryder to inform him about Sarah's situation, he immediately rushed to the branch office.
From Emily, he learned that Sarah had an argument with Grandpa Johnson and was taken away by him, mentioning something about meeting Sam.
Ryder immediately thought of the conflict between Sam and Andy. It had to be related.
Since he didn't know where exactly Sarah had been taken, he went to the Johnson family mansion to find clues. Coincidentally, he ran into Grandpa Johnson and others on their way back.
The anger in his heart couldn't be suppressed any longer.
Grandpa Johnson, with a smirk on his face, exclaimed, "Ryder, do you know who you're talking to? I am the head of the Johnson family. I order you, in the name of the Johnson family, to apologize to me immediately!"
Ryder sneered coldly, a chilling presence emanating from him, "What does the Johnson family count for? And who do you think you are? You good-for-nothing! I live an upright life, so why should I kneel to you?"
"I... I..."
Grandpa Johnson was so enraged that he could only gasp for breath.
For so many years in the Johnson family, no younger generation had dared to curse at him. This was a great disrespect. This was unforgivable!
"Ryder! I'll beat you to death, you scoundrel!"
Grandpa Johnson didn't care about his usually high and mighty image. He swung his cane and aimed at Ryder.
The first hit landed on Ryder's shoulder, but he remained motionless.
"You bastard, I want to see how much you can endure!"
Just as he was about to strike for the second time, Ryder grabbed the cane, pulled it forcefully, and snatched it away.
Grandpa Johnson stumbled, leaning forward and falling on the ground like a dog eating shit.
"My back, it hurts so much!" Grandpa Johnson winced in pain.
Due to his old age and overweight body, he couldn't get up after kneeling on the ground.
Matthew was stunned by Ryder's action and took a few seconds before reacting.
He quickly rushed forward and supported Grandpa Johnson, saying, "Dad! Are you okay? Did you hurt yourself?"
Then he glared and shouted at Ryder, "Ryder! Have you gone mad? How dare you even lay a hand on my father?"
"Do you really think that becoming the Security Head of Maple Real Estate makes you triumphant? Do you think that my Johnson family can't do anything to you?" Grandpa Johnson stared at Ryder with malicious eyes, so angry that he couldn't speak.
"It's you who's gone crazy! A bunch of animals who only sabotage their own family. You betrayed Sarah, who is also a part of the Johnson family, for the sake of Andy. You've crossed all the limits, and I am enraged now!" Ryder spoke coldly.
He tightly grasped both ends of his cane and forcefully lifted his leg, giving it a strong knock. The cane immediately snapped in half!
Grandpa Johnson widened his eyes and almost lost his breath. This cane had carried over twenty years of his life. It represented his authority in the Johnson family and was the backbone of his actions. It was his most cherished possession, and yet Ryder had broken it right in front of him.
Ryder casually discarded one half of the cane.
Ignoring the shocked expressions of Grandpa Johnson and Matthew, he turned his head to stare at Andy and asked once again, "Where is Sarah?"
Feeling uncomfortable and panicked deep inside, Andy, who was being stared at by Ryder's black eyes, stubbornly retorted, "I won't tell you. What can you do to me?"
"Is that so?" Ryder sneered and swung the remaining half of the cane in his right hand, smashing it onto Andy's head.
Andy howled in pain as a gash appeared on his head, and blood gushed out.
"Last chance! Where is Sarah?!"
A cold and emotionless interrogation! To Andy, it felt like the devil's judgment.
"You... you are a demon! You're not human..."
Terrified, Andy's face turned pale, and he wet his pants.
Ryder didn't want to hear any more nonsense. He raised the broken cane again, prepared to strike once more.
Unable to withstand the pressure any longer, Andy quickly begged for mercy and answered, "She's at The Source Hotel! Hurry over! That bastard Sam is planning something against her! Please spare me..."
Ryder threw the broken cane he held onto the ground.
He turned his head and emotionlessly surveyed Grandpa Johnson and the others, saying, "Tonight, if so much as a scratch comes upon Sarah, I guarantee that the Johnson family will be completely wiped off the map of Houston! I will do as I say!"
Leaving these words behind, Ryder disappeared into the darkness on his bike.
