Chapter 310 The Davis Family? Never Heard of It!

The guy who punched Daniel was no other than Rex.

Daniel struggled to raise his head and saw Rex, a solid six-foot-three with muscles.

His heart pounded.

Where did this strong guy come from?

Rex had been quietly eating at the next table, so Daniel had overlooked him.

Gritting his teeth, Daniel yelled, "You hillbilly. Get out! This has nothing to do with you!"

Rex shook his head. "I won't let you hurt Ryder!"

"Damn it! Go to hell!"

Daniel took a deep breath, enduring the pain in his abdomen, and lunged with a knife at Rex's chest.

But Rex was quicker, grabbing Daniel's wrist tightly.

Daniel grimaced in pain. "My God! It hurts! Let go!"

He struggled but couldn't muster any strength.

Christopher and the others were stunned.

They knew Daniel had been working for the Davis family for a long time, frequently getting into fights and being very formidable.

But they didn't expect Daniel to be so easily overpowered by Rex.

Daniel hurriedly shouted to his men, "What are you waiting for? Help me now!"

"Got it!"

Christopher, gritting his teeth, ordered Rex to let go.

Rex remained unmoved.

"Fuck! I'll kill you!"

Christopher cursed, grabbing a beer bottle from the table, intending to smash it over Rex's head.

But before he could get close, he was kicked away.

Christopher flew back over six feet, landing heavily on the ground, crying out in pain.

As for the remaining henchman, Rex casually punched him in the nose, causing it to bleed.

He squatted on the ground, clutching his nose, shouting that he was going to die.

This scene scared the nearby diners, who all backed away but didn't leave.

They continued to watch to see what would happen next.

As for the restaurant owner and the staff, they didn't dare to intervene.

After all, this involved Daniel, and stepping in would surely bring trouble.

Seeing his two men beaten down, Daniel got frightened, but he still fiercely scolded, "You better let me go now, or you'll regret it!"

Ryder smiled faintly. "I know regret is useless, so I won't regret it."

Daniel was momentarily stunned and then said harshly, "Do you know what happens when you piss me off? Let me tell you. You're going up against the Davis family! In Houston, no one who goes against the Davis family ends up well!"

Hearing this, Ryder scratched his head, puzzled, and asked, "You said the Davis family. What Davis family? I've never heard of them!"

Daniel was stunned.

Ryder responded seriously, "I'm not joking."

Ryder was indeed being serious.

Although he had lived in Houston for many years, most of his time was spent at the bottom, living a life without money or status.

During that time, he had limited interactions and naturally heard little about the big names in Houston.

Even now, having inherited a fortune and become the president of Maple Real Estate, most of the big names he knew were through business collaborations.

The Davis family ran an entertainment and casino business, which had nothing to do with real estate, and Ryder himself had never been a customer. Moreover, since their business income was mostly illegal, the Davis family tried to keep a low profile. So their reputation in Houston wasn't very high.

Daniel got even angrier and snapped, "Don't be so cocky! If you're a man, let me go to gather my friends. Do you dare?"

Ryder sighed. "I don't know if your brain is full of water or dog shit. I graduated from college; I'm not dumb enough to fall for that. Just shut up. I have other things to do."

But Daniel, still defiant, cursed, "You little punk! Who do you think you are to order me around!"

Ryder frowned. "Slap him."

Rex didn't hesitate. He raised his left hand and slapped Daniel across the cheek, leaving a clear imprint and drawing blood from the corner of his mouth.

Daniel's eyes widened. "Fuck! You..."

Ryder said again, "Slap him."

Rex gave him another slap, swelling the other side of Daniel's face and loosening a tooth.

"Just wait. I will..."

"Slap him!"

Two minutes later, Daniel's face was unrecognizable, blood flowing from his mouth and nose. The once arrogant look in his eyes was now filled with terror. He didn't dare make a sound.

Daniel was scared. He'd been in the underworld for over ten years and had seen many ruthless people. But Ryder, who looked like an ordinary young man, made him feel a deep-seated fear. Decisive in action, unwavering in words, and calm in every move—this was something he had only seen in Mark.

The surrounding customers were all frightened.

"Fuck! He's so ruthless. That's Daniel! No respect at all!"

"I bet he doesn't know how dangerous Daniel is; he'll definitely get revenge later!"

"But to be fair, Daniel has been a tyrant on this street for years, doing all sorts of bad things. It's kind of satisfying to see him get beaten up!"

"Keep your voice down. If you want to die, don't drag us down with you!"

Ryder didn't care about the comments. He turned to Harper and extended his hand. "Hand it over."

Harper and the two remaining women were pale with fear. The once invincible Daniel was now in a miserable state. Surrendering seemed like the best option, but Harper was stubborn.

With a contorted expression, she said, "What if I don't hand it over? I don't believe you would dare kill me in public! If you're a man, try it!"

Ryder's pupils narrowed, and he sneered, "A bitch like you wants me to kill you? Look at yourself in the mirror; you're not worth it."

Harper's face turned red with anger.

Ryder continued, "Remember Arturo? The rich guy you used to suck up to."

Harper was stunned and asked warily, "What do you mean?"

With an innocent smile, Ryder lowered his voice and replied, "I heard he's doing well abroad. Didn't you like having your toes licked? There are plenty of men over there who are into that. Why don't you give it a try? You might even make a lot of money!"
