Chapter 608 Want to Marry Tyler

Just as Barbara hung up the phone, the elevator doors slid open.

A bunch of footsteps echoed through the hall, followed by some angry cursing: "Who the hell messed up Mr. Young's carefully planned dinner?!"

It was the restaurant manager, storming in with a group of tough-looking guys.

He barged into the hall and saw Tyler sprawled on the floor, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.

The manager froze for a second, then rushed over, concern all over his face. "Oh my God, Mr. Young, what happened? Are you alright?"

Tyler shot him a sideways glance. "What do you think?"

Barbara, fuming, chimed in, "We booked the whole top floor! How can people just waltz in here? With service like this, your restaurant won't last long!"

The manager quickly apologized, "Mr. Young, Ms. Campbell, I'm so sorry! I had no idea this would happen! As soon as I heard, I came running to fix it! Don't worry, we'll make this right!"

Tyler and Barbara both snorted in disgust.

Barbara pointed at Rex and Ryder. "That idiot beat up Mr. Young, and the guy behind him, Ryder, is the mastermind!"

Ryder? The name rang a bell for the manager.

Following Barbara's finger, he saw Ryder's face. Wasn't this the new owner who toured the restaurant recently?

The manager's fierce look melted away, replaced by a smile. He walked over to Ryder, bowing respectfully. "Mr. Clark, what a surprise! If I'd known you were coming, I'd have prepared! Are you here to teach Mr. Young a lesson? No problem at all! Whatever you need, I'm here to help!"

The shift in attitude was seamless.

Ryder couldn't help but smirk. "You're something else."

The manager's smile twitched, and he bowed even lower. The situation was dicey; best to keep quiet!

Meanwhile, Barbara was still on the ground, crying. "Tyler, don't fall asleep! Tell me if you're in pain! I called an ambulance; it should be here soon!"

Tyler's face was flushed, a mix of helplessness and guilt. His voice was choked. "Barbara, I'm sorry! I wanted to give you a romantic proposal, but I messed it all up! I'm really sorry! But since Ryder owns this place, I think I know why I was drugged! He used this dirty trick to make you think I'm a pervert!"

Barbara's face went pale. She looked at Ryder in disbelief. "Is that true?"

Ryder frowned. "No!"

Rex, equally angry, shouted, "We didn't! Tyler, you lying bastard, I'll kill you!"

"Don't be impulsive!" Sarah stopped him. She then looked at Barbara, pleading, "Barbara, you have to believe us. I'm your sister, Ryder is your brother-in-law, and Rex, we're your real family!"

"Oh, really? So as your biological mother, I'm just an outsider now?" Sandra's voice cut through the tension as she approached Barbara.

She shouted, "Ryder and Sarah! You two are really despicable!"

Turning to Tyler, she said, "Tyler, don't be afraid to tell the truth. With me here, I won't let these bad guys bully you! Not over my dead body!"

Tyler nodded, looking relieved. "I didn't know this restaurant belonged to Ryder! If I had known, I wouldn't have had a candlelight dinner with Barbara here! I was confused at first—why did I order one bottle of red wine, but the waiter brought two, saying it was a buy-one-get-one-free deal?"

He steadied his breath and continued, "So Barbara and I each had a bottle! I didn't expect my bottle to be drugged! This must be Ryder's plan to make you think I'm a pervert. Ryder, you're really calculating! Barbara, I feel so bad! So hot! My whole body feels like it's going to explode! It's really uncomfortable, so uncomfortable."

Tyler's tears flowed freely, looking as pitiful as could be.

Ryder and Rex exchanged glances, both fuming. Rex clenched his fists, glaring angrily. He couldn't believe Tyler was lying so blatantly.

Ryder was equally furious inside. Tyler had turned the tables and drugged himself, trapping Ryder and Rex in the process.

Sandra shouted angrily, "Barbara, look at Ryder! He's that kind of man. Poor Tyler, getting beaten up for no reason because of you. Ryder is not a good person; he has a wife and still wants a mistress!"

Sarah and Barbara were stunned. Sarah shook her head. "No! It's not like that! There must be a misunderstanding! Ryder is not that kind of person! Barbara, you need to think carefully!"

"Sarah, I really liked you. I was even willing to stay single for life for you, but now I regret it. You and Ryder are just two of a kind, and you don't need to educate me. I have eyes; I can see things clearly!" Barbara was filled with righteous indignation.

Sandra shouted, "That's right! Barbara! Follow your heart! All this family loyalty is fake! Only living well yourself is real!"

"Enough, Mom! Stop talking!" Barbara interrupted Sandra.

With red eyes, she looked at Sarah. "Sarah, tell me, do you really love Ryder and can't be separated from him?"

"Huh? What do you mean?" Sarah asked, confused.

Barbara emphasized, "Just answer yes or no."

Sarah's eyes flickered as she looked at Ryder. Taking a deep breath, she nodded. "Yes!" Her tone was firm.

Hearing this warmed Ryder's heart, but Barbara staggered, then smiled bitterly, "Okay, I understand! I understand everything!"

"Barbara, don't accept Tyler's proposal. It's a big decision for a woman; you can't do it out of spite!" Sarah continued to persuade.

However, Barbara's eyes were resolute. "No, now I want to marry Tyler!"
