Chapter 330 I'm a Farmer!

When Ryder realized what was happening, he signaled George to forfeit the match.

George noticed too.

Normally, George would never give up without a fight, but Ryder's orders were absolute. He trusted Ryder's judgment.

So, as Jeffrey approached the ring, George raised his good hand and said, "I forfeit!"

The crowd went wild.

"What? George just gave up? Keep fighting!"

"Come on! I bet on you! Give me my money back!"

"Seriously? It's just a dislocated shoulder. You can still fight. You've let us down!"

"Man, this is infuriating. George gave up as soon as he saw that he had to fight Jeffrey. What a coward!"

The comments were harsh and full of ridicule.

Even Kenneth and Ronald were shocked.

Why not keep fighting?

Ronald was sure George wouldn't last ten rounds against Jeffrey with his injury. Still, George's sudden forfeit was unexpected.

The host, confused, asked Ronald, "Boss, what's going on?"

Ronald frowned, thought for a moment, and sighed. "We have to follow the rules. We can't ruin our club's reputation with so many spectators watching."

"Got it!"

The host announced, "George has forfeited. Let's welcome the final contestant, Rex!"

George, clutching his shoulder, left the ring. As he passed Jeffrey, Jeffrey sneered, "You're lucky, but the next guy won't be. Get ready for a funeral."

George ignored him and walked to Rex.

Rex looked at George with concern. "You okay?"

George shook his head. "Just a minor issue. But be careful, Jeffrey's dangerous. If you can't handle it, forfeit. Your life is more important. Don't make Mr. Clark and me worry."

Rex scratched his head, embarrassed. "Got it!"

A few of George's guys helped him back to the seats, and the medical staff quickly approached to treat his shoulder.

George sighed. "Mr. Clark, I'm sorry I couldn't hold out."

Ryder reassured him, "You won two matches in a row. You've done enough. Leave the rest to Rex."

George was worried. "Rex has the skills, but I'm concerned he won't go for the kill. Underground fights are different from sparring during trainings. Without a ruthless mindset, he'll struggle."

Ryder nodded. "I thought the same, but this is a chance for Rex to break through. If he gets past this, he'll transform."

"Now, let's welcome Rex to the stage!" the host announced.

Rex lightly swung his fists and muttered, "I got this. I won't let Ryder down!"

He walked towards the ring, and the crowd erupted in laughter.

"Who's this Rex guy? He looks like a fool. Must be from the sticks!"

"Yeah, he looks like a total country bumpkin! Jeffrey will knock him out with one punch!"

"He's built like a bear, though. Might last a bit."

"Size doesn't matter when it comes to real strength! I'm betting my last dime on Jeffrey!"

"Same here! I'm borrowing money to bet on Jeffrey. Easy win!"

"I wish I hadn't bet everything on George! I'm losing big time! Stupid George! Useless Rex!"

Ronald took advantage of the distraction and approached Kenneth.

Kenneth, annoyed, said, "Weren't we supposed to kill George in the ring? You're just let him go?"

Ronald shrugged. "Who knew he'd forfeit? Nothing we can do. Since he forfeited, just take it as a win."

Kenneth glanced at Rex. "How good is this idiot?"

Ronald sneered. "Looks like a rookie who's never fought in an underground match. Jeffrey will crush him."

Kenneth finally looked satisfied and checked his betting app. The amount had already exceeded $120 million. He hesitated, then bet another $10 million on his own team.

Kenneth told Ronald, "I'm helping you one last time. Don't forget our deal. Win or lose, you owe me a cut."

Ronald nodded. "Don't worry, we're brothers. You've helped me make a ton of money. We'll split the profits."

Ronald then instructed the host via walkie-talkie, "Announce that betting closes in one minute. Then start the match."

"Got it!"

The host announced to the crowd that betting would close in one minute.

The $10 million bet caused a huge stir. Many spectators, already over their budget, placed more bets, hoping to cash in on Kenneth's side.

The frenzy intensified especially after a sudden $20 million bet appeared on George's side.

In just one minute, the total betting pool hit $200 million. Such a large amount was unprecedented in Houston and rare in Texas.

It was clear that tonight's results would make some people rich and others bankrupt.

Back in the ring, Jeffrey wasn't wearing gloves; his hands were wrapped in white bandages from wrists to fingers. He looked at Rex with cold disdain.

Did they really bring him here to fight this clueless guy? Rex didn't look like a fighter at all. He was definitely a rookie.

Jeffrey, annoyed, asked, "What do you do for a living?"

Rex, a bit embarrassed, quietly replied, "I'm a farmer."
