Chapter 64 Sarah's Introduction
Sophia addressed the crowd, "Since Sarah is ready to participate in the bidding, please prepare your introductions in advance. The Johnson family will be the first to speak!"
Andy handed the proposal to Sophia. With a slight cough to clear his throat, he stood up and began his introduction in a rehearsed manner.
It was more like reading the content directly from the PowerPoint slides.
The whole introduction was not smooth. There were stumbling blocks in some areas involving technical terms, and Matthew had to secretly provide explanations on the side. It couldn't be helped, after all, Andy had no connection to this proposal or the PowerPoint. Naturally, he was unfamiliar with the details. It took over forty minutes for Andy to finally finish the introduction.
Nervously wiping his sweat, he sat down. He knew that his performance was average at best, but at least he didn't make any major mistakes. It was too difficult!
At this moment, the others in the room listened to Andy's introduction, each deep in thought.
The Windsor Group's members looked solemn! Although Andy's presentation process was awful, the content of the PowerPoint couldn't be denied as excellent. The Windsor Group mainly focused on their own scale and strength when bidding, considering their grasp of construction materials resources, but it wasn't comprehensive.
On the other hand, the Johnson family's PowerPoint highlighted their strengths and avoided weaknesses, considering a more comprehensive perspective. Their construction materials resources were not as extensive as the Windsor family's, but they excelled in agility, whether it was processing, manufacturing, or transportation. They didn't suffer from the long process typical of large companies, meeting all of Maple Real Estate's various needs.
Furthermore, they took into account all the risks involved in the collaboration. For example, the Johnson family, being smaller in size, didn't have enough funds for large-scale production in the initial stages of cooperation. That's when they would turn to commercial loans and analyze every dimension, such as loan amount and repayment terms, to ensure stable cooperation without any unexpected issues!
Of course, the most important point was that the Johnson family's bid was only 1.2 billion dollars! A whopping 300 million dollars less than the Windsor Group!
As everyone knows, the bidding price is the most crucial factor for the bidding party. The price offered by the Johnson family will certainly put pressure on the Windsor Group.
"Darn it, I really underestimated the Johnson family! I made a mistake!" Henry grumbled in dissatisfaction.
Henry offered $1.5 billion because the Smith family collapsed, leaving no competitors. With the mindset that the construction market can't do without him, he intentionally raised the bidding price. He never expected the Johnson family to show up.
As for the Johnson family, joy filled their hearts and faces. Especially Grandpa Johnson, whose mood hasn't been good for a single second due to Ryder's incident in recent days. But at this moment, even the wrinkles on his face relaxed. Having managed the Johnson family for many years, he had a clear understanding of the market situation. This bidding by Maple Real Estate was a big piece of meat, and everyone wanted a bite!
Grandpa Johnson had already done the calculations. No matter which company eventually took on such a big project, the minimum cost required would be $800 million!
Sarah's proposal offered a price of $1.2 billion, which meant a net profit of $400 million for the Johnson family after deducting costs!
Grandpa Johnson had never seen so much money in his entire life!
With this profit, the Johnson family's rise was right before his eyes! That's why Grandpa Johnson had to admit that Sarah's proposal was excellently done. There was simply no flaw in her personal abilities. However, the more this was the case, the more Grandpa Johnson felt a sense of crisis! It made him even more determined that he absolutely couldn't give Sarah important decision-making power, or it would jeopardize Andy's authority within the Johnson family. But Sarah, being such a talented individual, couldn't be buried either. So the best way to handle this was to let Sarah work for the Johnson family for free indefinitely.
This would ensure that the Johnson family's business thrived and solidify Andy's power! It would truly be killing two birds with one stone! Andy could already guess Grandpa's thoughts quite well. In a contented mood, he proudly clasped his hands behind his head and tilted it back.
If they weren't in the Maple Real Estate conference room, he would have already started humming a tune. What a great feeling!
Amongst those present, Sarah's parents felt the most devastated. Ever since Sarah agreed to independently participate in the bidding, the couple had been sitting in their chairs, their eyes empty and lifeless. One thought kept flooding their minds - it's all over! They seemed to have already seen themselves becoming slaves to the Johnson family, working for them for free starting today, unable to receive any dividends, and eventually ending up on the streets. All of this was Ryder's fault!
Sophia looked at Sarah, smiling, and said, "Now let's have Sarah give an introduction!"
Both the Windsor Group and the Johnson family intentionally let out a slight hiss.
"Without even a business plan or a PowerPoint presentation, what can she say just by relying on her mouth?"
"You learn from being at a disadvantage!"
"I'm going to film her expression after she fails the bidding and post it on TikTok, let this bitch Sarah go viral!"
Faced with the mockery and insults from everyone, Sarah's heartbeat began to accelerate! Because this was a tremendous pressure she had never faced before!
Ryder gently held Sarah's hand, encouraging her softly, "Relax, show your true abilities. No matter what the outcome, I will be by your side!"
Feeling the warmth in Ryder's palm, Sarah's nervousness inexplicably disappeared. She nodded, took a deep breath, and then stood up to introduce herself to the crowd.
"I represent my responsible branch and participate in this bidding. First of all, I want to introduce the nature of our company..." She proceeded to describe her branch and present her business plan. "...That concludes my introduction. If anyone has any questions, please let Sophia ask!"
After a solid fifty minutes, the introduction was finished! Sarah truly lived up to being the talented and capable young generation of the Johnson family. Even without a PowerPoint presentation or a business plan, relying solely on years of cultivated business acumen and the effort she had put in these past few days, there were no mistakes in her introduction.
Also, when Andy was introducing earlier, Sarah suddenly realized that there were some controversial points in the PowerPoint presentation she had prepared. So she corrected them in her own introduction. This made her presentation more complete, and even without the PowerPoint and business plan, everyone in the room could understand.
Clear, logical, and impeccable! Therefore, when she finished her speech, Sophia was the first to applaud Sarah, saying, "Great job on your introduction, it was excellent!"
This scene made the people from the Windsor Group and the Johnson family's expressions turn ugly. Forced to the brink of desperation, Sarah unexpectedly performed so well!
Henry pondered for a moment, then his eyes suddenly lit up. He coldly smirked and questioned Sarah, "Miss Johnson, it seems like you forgot a key factor in your introduction. You blabbered on about a lot of things, but it lacks practicality!"
Andy instinctively interjected, "What factor?"
Henry glanced at Andy, as if looking at an idiot, "Of course, it's the bidding price!"
Everyone suddenly understood and thought they had almost been fooled by Sarah.
Their eyes immediately locked onto Sarah.
" Hurry up!" they exclaimed, presuring for Sarah's quote.
"I..." Sarah was stunned by the gaze of the crowd, feeling instinctively nervous. Because at this moment, she wasn't entirely sure what the bidding price should be! A high price would give them no bidding advantage, but if it was too low, they would lose money. What should she do?
Just as the situation seemed critical, Ryder spoke up.
