Chapter 122 I Earned Another $10,000!
In the evening, after giving instructions to the renovation team on how to improve the decoration, Ryder left on his bike. When he was leaving, Dylan told him that Ella and Sawyer had already been dealt with and asked Ryder not to publicize the matter to avoid damaging the reputation of the villa. Ryder said it was no problem, and Dylan was happy and promised to owe him a favor. He would repay it when he had the chance.
On his way back, Ryder hummed a tune. He was in a good mood today. In addition to seeing his own villa, he also received some good news.
His sister Ava, who was undergoing postoperative rehabilitation in Norway, recovered very quickly. She could now get out of bed and participate in normal rehabilitation exercises. According to estimates, she would be fully recovered in less than a month. By then, she could come back to the country!
"When that time comes, I'll bring Ava to live in the villa with me so she won't have to live with those people anymore and suffer every day!" Ryder sighed.
Approximately ten minutes later, Ryder returned to the community. When he parked his electric scooter, he saw Sarah's car in the parking space. It seemed that she had already returned. His phone received a text message from the company's security team leader.
"Mr. Clark, the names of those bastards behind the scenes have been investigated and cleared. Their names are Aaron."
Ryder's gaze hardened, and he replied, "I got it, let those bastards go so long!"
"Understood, Sir!"
Ryder put away his phone and smirked, "Aaron! I knew it was you!"
In fact, when someone came to cause trouble and specifically mentioned his name this morning, Ryder had already guessed that it was probably Aaron.
After all, there were only a few people in Houston who had conflicts with him.
Among them, the deepest grudge was between Andy and Henry, who were still being detained for seven days.
So, the most likely person left was Aaron, who had a conflict with him last night!
Ryder didn't have a good impression of this brother-in-law.
If he wasn't Sarah's brother, Ryder would have beaten him a long time ago!
Ryder noticed that four members from the Ernest family were already sitting around the table eating.
When Karen saw Ryder come back, she pouted and complained, "This jerk doesn't even bother to make dinner and only comes back when it's time to eat. Clearly deliberate!"
Aaron disdainfully added, "That's how freeloaders are! Get used to it!"
Sarah felt uncomfortable listening to this and turned to Ryder, saying, "Hurry up and wash your hands. The food is in the pot, serve yourself!"
"Okay!"
Ryder responded and went to the kitchen to serve himself rice.
Karen became a little unhappy and said to Sarah, "What benefits has this waste given you that you spoil him like this!?"
"Mom, just keep quiet!"
"You..." Karen sighed in frustration.
She turned to Aaron with a concerned smile and asked, "How was your first day of work? Tell me about it!"
Upon hearing this, Aaron placed his chopsticks on the table.
He coughed lightly and put on a proud expression, saying, "I have quite a bit to tell you! From my perspective, with my abilities, the position of general manager is simply too easy for me! No challenges at all! I believe that within a month, under my leadership, SR Group's market value will double! By then, Sis, don't forget to promote me to vice president!"
Sarah remained silent, her expression seemingly hiding something.
Ryder couldn't help but smile bitterly. If you really became the general manager of the marketing department for a month, the whole company would probably collapse!
But Karen had complete trust in her son.
She smiled proudly and said, "Truly worthy of being my child. Who can match your intelligence and drive? From the day you were born, I knew you would achieve great things!"
"That's for sure!" Aaron confidently said, "Mom, it won't be long before I make a lot of money! Then I'll buy you a big house. We can move out of this one and choose a villa in the Platan Heights residential area!"
Karen's eyes lit up, "Platan Heights! The cheapest villa in Platan Heights is worth at least eight million dollars! I'd gladly give up ten years of my life just to live in such a grand mansion! By the way, when our family moves there, that useless person can roll as far away as possible, so they won't dirty our villa!"
Aaron's gaze fell on Ryder as he sarcastically replied, "Mom, we shouldn't say that. Someone will boast and say that they can buy the Platan Heights villa without our help."
"Hahaha!" Karen laughed until tears almost came out. "If he's really that amazing and buys a Platan Heights villa, I will never set foot in it. Even if he begs me to, I won't move in. How could I ever live with myself if I did?"
Ryder did not refute their conversation at all. He continued eating with his head down, secretly recording the conversation on his phone to prevent future denial!
Soon, they finished their meal.
Aaron reached out to Karen, assuming a righteous expression, and said, "Mom, give me twenty thousand dollars!"
"You just got money yesterday. Why are you asking for more today?"
"Yesterday, I spent it with friends! Today, I want to buy gifts for my employees. It's part of workplace etiquette!"
Karen patted Aaron's shoulder excitedly. "You really are ambitious!"
Without hesitation, she transferred twenty thousand dollars to Aaron and then turned to Ryder with annoyance. "Since you didn't cook dinner, you have to clean up these dishes, chopsticks, and plates!"
Ryder glanced at Sarah, who nodded in agreement. He decided against saying anything and quietly began cleaning up the tableware.
"Useless!" Karen muttered to herself and went back to her room to restwith Ernest.
Meanwhile, Aaron returned to his own bedroom with his phone.
Lock the door! Open the game! Click recharge! Ten thousand dollars, spent!
With satisfaction on his face, Aaron exited the game and opened WhatsApp. He found a contact named "Lighting" and tapped on it.
He transferred ten thousand dollars to the other person.
Then he typed, "I promised to give you the money for the phone at noon."
The other person instantly replied, "Aaron! You're so handsome!"
Aaron replied, "Of course! Hehe, now that I've helped you fulfill your wish to buy a phone, can we video chat?"
Lighting responded, "Not possible, dear. I'm not able to right now. How about I compensate you with a photo?"
Shortly after, a selfie was sent over.
A standard internet celebrity look!
Aaron's mouth went dry from looking at it.
Although he usually liked teasing young girls, it was all just for fun.
Only Lighting, the woman he met while playing games six months ago, had a different effect on him.
Her voice was sweet, her gaming skills were impressive, and her photos were beautiful.
She had completely captivated Aaron's soul!
After six months about 78,000 US dollars were invested!
Unfortunately, they had never had a video call or met in person. Every time he suggested it, Lighting always had some last-minute excuse to refuse. But the more this happened, the more he became trapped in it!
Aaron: "When do you have time for me to come to your city and meet you?"
Lighting: "When the time is right, fate will have us naturally meet! Busy now, talk later!"
Aaron: "Okay."
He looked satisfied, rolling around on the bed, imagining scenes of meeting Lighting.
Meanwhile, on the other side, Lighting went offline.
Logging into another WhatsApp account.
He picked his foot while holding a cigarette, and with a rough male voice, he sent a WhatsApp voice message to his girlfriend: "Darling! I earned another ten thousand dollars. I'll send it to you to buy a handbag!"
Girlfriend: "Love you!"
