Chapter 420 The Miserable Father and Son!
Outside the police station, Matthew and his son Andy stood by the roadside.
Today was the day they finally got out of that hellhole!
They were both in these flimsy clothes, and they even had holes in them!
A cold wind blew by.
They both shivered like crazy when the wind hit them.
"Disheveled" didn't even begin to cover it!
Andy looked up at the sky.
The sun was shining, but he felt like ice inside.
Man, those days in detention were the worst.
Every day, they got pushed around by the big guys, washing feet, emptying chamber pots, getting smacked around!
The worst part? Being used as "stress relief" by the big shots in there!
After more than ten days, Andy even got hemorrhoids!
Sitting down felt like sitting on a bed of nails!
Humiliation!
Rage!
As a man, his pride was stomped into the dirt!
Matthew had it a bit easier.
He was older and not exactly a looker, so the big shots didn't bother with him!
But he was clumsy, so he still got his fair share of beatings, covered in bruises and cuts.
Andy took a deep breath and said to Matthew, "I gotta get revenge! I'm gonna pay Ryder back tenfold, a hundredfold! I'm not backing down."
Matthew sighed and didn't say anything.
He had a feeling things wouldn't be that simple.
This wasn't just about Ryder; it was about their place in the Johnson family!
Since they got locked up, no one from the Johnson family came to see them, not even his wife Macy!
Clearly, his mom had made her stance clear!
This was a bad sign!
"Matthew! How are we getting back home?" Andy snapped Matthew out of his thoughts.
After being locked up for so long, they didn't have a dime on them, and their phones were dead!
No one from the Johnson family came to pick them up.
Matthew looked around, annoyed. "What else can we do? We gotta walk back! We've been totally ditched!"
Then they hopped on the bus.
After more than an hour, they finally got to the Johnson mansion.
Just as they were about to reach the door, someone stepped in their way.
It was Lawrence!
Matthew's face lit up with a bit of hope. "Lawrence! You knew we were getting out and came to greet us? You're still so kind!"
But Lawrence's face twisted with disgust, and he waved them off, pinching his nose. "Get lost! You stink. Don't get close!"
Matthew's face fell, confused. "Lawrence, what do you mean by this?"
Lawrence sneered. "What do I mean?"
Andy, annoyed, said, "Uncle Lawrence, why are you being so disrespectful? He's your brother!"
Lawrence looked at them with disdain. "So what? He's two years older than me, but it seems his brain hasn't caught up! You two have been nothing but unreliable. Do you know how much shame this detention has brought to our esteemed Johnson family? Over the years, you two have taken so much from the Johnson family without giving anything back! I can't understand what dignity you have to come back here!"
Those words hit Matthew right where it hurt!
But as the older brother, Matthew wasn't about to let Lawrence treat him like that!
Matthew's face darkened. "Lawrence! Show some respect! I'm the eldest son of the Johnson family and the future head! Do you know what happens if you treat me like this? I order you to apologize right now!"
"Hahahaha!!" Lawrence laughed like he'd just heard the funniest joke ever!
He was laughing so hard he was practically doubled over.
Lawrence pointed at Matthew with disdain. "If there's anyone more naive in the Johnson family, it's you two! You've brought nothing but shame to the family and disappointed Heather deeply! You might not know, but Heather already said that even if you two get out, you're not allowed back in the mansion! To be clear, you two aren't worthy of stepping through this door!"
Boom!
Those words made Matthew and Andy's faces go pale, their minds buzzing!
Matthew shook his head vigorously and said in a deep voice, "This is impossible! Heather would never say that. You must be lying!"
Andy was even more agitated. "This has to be your scheme! I'm the eldest grandson of the Johnson family. Grandma Heather has always seen me as the future leader. She wouldn't ban me from entering!"
"I knew you wouldn't give up!" Lawrence sneered and pulled out his phone, playing a video!
The video showed Heather sitting in an armchair, looking serious, instructing Lawrence that after Matthew and Andy were released, they weren't allowed to enter the mansion!
They could only come back if they completed one of two conditions!
First: Kill Ryder.
Second: Earn $10 million before her 70th birthday and hand it over to the Johnson family!
If they couldn't do either, they'd never be allowed back in the mansion and would have no access to any Johnson family resources!
Lawrence smugly turned off the video!
He raised his chin. "See? This video is proof! Would you dare defy Mom's words?"
"I..." Matthew opened his mouth but couldn't find any words to argue!
Andy was even more stunned, utterly shocked!
He couldn't understand how he, the precious eldest grandson, had fallen out of favor with Heather!
Especially after all the crap he'd been through recently, he just wanted to come back and rest, maybe complain a bit!
Now, he couldn't even get through the door!
At that moment, Lawrence said sarcastically, "Since you know the deal, you two should stop standing here! If Heather finds out and gets upset, it won't be good!"
"Damn it..." Hot-headed Andy wanted to rush up and hit Lawrence, but Matthew held him back!
"Andy! Don't be impulsive! If you hit him, he'll definitely tell Grandma Heather!"
"But..."
"No buts! Listen to me. Let's go!"
Matthew grabbed Andy's arm and dragged him away!
Andy glared at Lawrence and said in a deep voice, "You sneaky jerk! Just wait, we'll be back, and we won't let you off!"
Lawrence looked smug. "I'll be waiting! If you two have any guts, maybe begging will bring in a lot of money. Who knows, you might get lucky and beg for $10 million before Heather's 70th birthday! Hahaha!"
