Chapter 478 Rex Shows His Power!
Ryder's voice cut through the air, making Theodore's face darken as he snapped back, "Ryder, what, you planning to drink with your classmates?"
Ryder's lips twisted into a cold grin. "Nah, not my style. If anyone's drinking these bottles, it's gotta be you!"
Theodore's eyes narrowed. He couldn't believe Ryder was still pushing his buttons, clearly asking for trouble.
Lily's relatives were on edge, especially Deborah and Susan.
Deborah quickly shouted, "Ryder! Shut up! We don't want to get dragged down with you!"
Susan chimed in, "Why are you being so cocky?"
After chewing Ryder out, they turned to Adam, pleading, "Adam, right? We're all Lily's family. Can you help us out? If not, could you drink a few more bottles for us?"
"Lily's talked about you. With your connection to her, you wouldn't just stand by, right? Please, help us out and talk to Theodore. We know you can do it!"
Their shamelessness made everyone else look at them with disgust.
It was hard to believe anyone could be so brazen!
But no one paid them much mind. All eyes were on Ryder.
They'd lived in Jakarda City for years and had never seen anyone so eager to get into trouble!
Finally, Theodore, who had been lounging on the sofa, couldn't hold back any longer. He stood up slowly, extending his left hand.
A subordinate quickly handed him a sharp knife.
Theodore gripped the knife and stepped forward, sneering, "Ryder, no one in Jakarda City has talked to me like this for years. I don't care where you're from or what makes you so confident. As an elder, let me give you some advice: don't be too arrogant!"
Ryder smiled calmly, "Cut the crap."
Hearing this, Adam's face froze.
He quickly stepped in front of Theodore, forcing a smile, "Theodore, don't take it to heart. Didn't you want me to drink? I'll do it right now."
Theodore snapped at Adam, "No, this is his mess. Even if God shows up today, I won't let him off!"
Seeing Theodore's firm stance, Adam turned to Ryder and urged, "Ryder, don't be stubborn. You don't know Theodore's power in Jakarda City. Please, just apologize."
Ryder shook his head. "Adam, I got this. After it's over, let's grab a drink. We have a lot to catch up on!"
"But..." Adam still tried to persuade him.
Ryder cut him off, "Just trust me!"
Adam didn't say anything more.
Thinking back, he realized he hadn't seen Ryder in seven years!
The Ryder he used to know was always insecure, a loner, the most easily overlooked guy.
But right now, Ryder was radiating this crazy confidence, like he had everything under control!
Looking at Ryder, Adam thought, 'Had he really changed that much over the years, or was I just imagining things?'
No matter how confused he was, Adam was determined to back Ryder up, even if things went south tonight.
Ryder stepped up, standing toe-to-toe with Theodore.
Theodore sneered, "You've got guts. I'm really curious, what makes you think you can talk to me like this?"
Ryder stayed cool, "Do whatever you want tonight. If you don't end up kneeling and apologizing to me, I lose!"
Theodore's first instinct was to rush and stab him, but then a thought hit him.
What if Ryder really had some powerful backer?
But he quickly brushed that off. Ryder looked like a nobody, definitely bluffing!
So, Theodore steeled himself and spat, "You brought this on yourself, punk!"
He gripped the knife tight and lunged at Ryder!
But Ryder was quicker!
He sidestepped the attack and then kicked Theodore square in the stomach!
Theodore screamed in pain, stumbled back, and hit the ground, gasping and sweating!
"You dare fight back?" Theodore's face was full of disbelief!
Despite his tough demeanor, Theodore had no real combat skills. Back in the day, he relied on being reckless and fearless, but now, years of heavy drinking and indulgence had left him weak!
So Ryder easily dodged and took him down!
Ryder's defiance had already surprised many, but kicking Theodore down shocked everyone even more!
But there wasn't much time to be shocked!
Theodore had been humiliated in front of his men!
Someone shouted, "Get this bastard! Avenge Theodore!"
With that, eighteen of Theodore's guys charged at Ryder!
They grabbed beer bottles, batons, and knives, ready to attack!
Lily's relatives screamed in fear and quickly hid!
Louis immediately dove under the nearest table, scared of getting caught in the chaos!
Facing the oncoming attack, Ryder shielded Lily behind him, staying calm because Rex was there!
Rex, the fierce one, faced the crowd, grabbed a nearby sofa, and swung it effortlessly!
A nearly seven-foot-long, almost 220-pound sofa!
In Rex's hands, it moved so easily, knocking down the first three guys, who clutched their heads and screamed in pain!
The sofa then crashed forward, hitting two more in the chest and knocking them down!
In the room, Rex single-handedly took on the crowd with ease!
In just over a minute, all of Theodore's men were on the ground, unable to stand.
