Chapter 1048 Protecting His Woman
At present, Kevin was surrounded by women, having established relationships with the four female teachers at Sunset Valley High School—Alissa, Vanessa, Audrey, and Kimberly. It was a delicate situation, dancing on thin ice. Entering into a public relationship with Laura would only further complicate matters.
After Albert left, Kevin texted Laura, saying, "Laura, anyone who dares to bully you, I'll deal with them!"
After a while, Laura replied, "You should focus on yourself! Always being aggressive, like a little ruffian."
Kevin felt disheartened. It seemed Laura was genuinely upset. He pondered over when he might have upset her; after all, Laura wasn't the type to be petty.
Ah, the mystery of a woman's heart is like finding a needle in the sea. Just like his cousin insisting on maintaining a distance at school, despite everyone knowing they were relatives. It would be perfectly normal to be more affectionate, but her actions seemed rather inexplicable and left a sense of ambiguity.
The second lesson was English class. When Kimberly entered the room wearing a light green dress, everyone perked up. Kimberly was almost as tall as Audrey, with a graceful figure and a charming face. The dress revealed her enticing, fair legs, captivating the gaze of the adolescent boys.
"Hello, everyone, how was your summer vacation? Can you share it with us?" Kimberly rattled off as soon as she entered, then wrote the word 'share' on the board. She chuckled and said, "Alright, let's not have a lesson today. The theme is sharing. Let's talk about our summer experiences, try to do it in English as much as possible."
For an ordinary school like Sunset Valley High School, there were no foreign language teachers. Students' spoken English skills were rather average, and Kimberly made considerable efforts to provide opportunities for students to improve their speaking abilities. However, the results were minimal; most students were too shy to speak, let alone express themselves fluently in English.
Upon Kimberly's words, almost everyone instinctively lowered their heads, except for a few good English students like Lucy and Laura, who raised their hands.
"Okay, Lily, you go first." Kimberly, somewhat resigned, looked towards Lucy, the English class representative, setting an example.
Lucy stood up and spoke in English for nearly a minute. Kimberly nodded repeatedly. As the English class representative, Lucy's choice of words was accurate, with minimal grammatical errors and standard pronunciation. However, her vocabulary was somewhat lacking, affecting the fluidity of her expression.
Once Lucy finished, Kimberly called on Laura and a few other girls. After they spoke, she frowned and asked, "Is there anyone else? Come on, don't be shy, just try! Be brave!" She repeated this several times, but no one else raised their hand. Kimberly then questioned, "Why isn't there any male student? Come on! Anyone?"
Kevin, with average spoken English skills, initially hesitated to raise his hand. However, met with Kimberly's expectant gaze, he felt obliged. After all, Kimberly had trained him for several days during the summer break. He reluctantly raised his hand.
"Okay, David, what do you want to share with us?" Kimberly's eyes sparkled when she saw Kevin's hand raised. She clapped in encouragement. Speaking up was the first step in expressing oneself. As long as one took that brave step, it was the beginning of success.
"Well, I had a very enjoyable and fulfilling summer. I completed my summer homework, helped with household chores, and, I also went to Fairy Lake," stammered Kevin, mixing Chinese with English words, struggling to maintain coherence. The surrounding students burst into laughter, with Albert nearly laughing his insides out. Kevin finished his piece, blushing and sitting down, feeling embarrassed and wishing for a hole to swallow him up. He regretted raising his hand at that moment.
Nevertheless, Kimberly gave Kevin an affirming look. She scanned the giggling male students and calmly stated, "Have you had enough laughter? I fail to see the humor. Kevin standing up to speak is a hundred times stronger than any of you. Do you have the right to mock him? Kevin, you did well. As long as you persist and keep speaking up, the teacher believes you will get better at it. Does anyone else want to share?"
Upon seeing the young and pretty English teacher praise Kevin, Ivan felt a twinge of jealousy. He quickly raised his hand. However, as he stood to face Kimberly's charming eyes, his mind went blank. Mouth agape, he was unable to utter a word. The classroom fell into dead silence; nobody spoke. His face turned crimson, the more flustered he grew, the less he could say. Finally, he let out an audible fart.
The entire classroom was stunned. What was happening?
The girls behind him covered their noses with expressions of disgust. Who would have expected the prestigious class leader to pass gas publicly? Albert was nearly in tears from holding back his laughter. Ivan had truly embarrassed himself. Perhaps he could now be called "Sudapipi."
Kevin, bewildered, couldn't understand if Ivan was trying to challenge him or Kimberly. But why would he pass gas? The reasoning behind his actions eluded him.
Ivan felt like crying. He had believed he was superior to Kevin, thinking it was simple to speak a few sentences in English. He had watched numerous English and American movies, yet when he stood up, his mind was filled with swear words like 'Fuck', 'Shit', 'Bitch', and all other actual English words escaped his memory.
Seeing Ivan's almost tearful expression, Kimberly was at a loss, quickly gesturing for him to sit down. She chuckled and said, "Ivan, you voluntarily raised your hand, which is commendable and courageous. But next time, think about what you want to say before raising your hand. This will make you less nervous. Okay, the sharing session ends here. Let's continue with the lesson." She turned around and began writing on the blackboard, her short skirt revealing her fair, enticing legs and swaying hips, radiating an alluring, mature womanly charm that enticed the hungry gazes of dozens below.
