Chapter 1075 Superfluous Explanations
Nevertheless, unable to calm her mind without checking, Audrey eventually opened Kevin's phone. Indeed, she found herself clicking into his social media account, where she stumbled upon chat records between Kevin, Laura, and Albert, some classmates. Everything seemed harmless, easing the tension on her face. Contemplating Quentin's calculated approach toward her, she speculated he might be behind this subtle ploy. In this era of technological advancement, manipulating images of two strangers into a single photograph wasn't a Herculean task after all.
Exiting the social media account, Audrey's gaze fell upon the album icon. Acting on a whim, she tapped into the images and was met with a striking photo: a woman swinging on a swing set amidst a forest—her smile radiant, captivating, and irresistible. It was Natalie. Evidently, this photo was of Natalie, captured by Kevin. The timestamp coincided with Audrey's trip back to her hometown.
"Kevin, how do you explain this?" Audrey despaired entirely. It seemed that Kevin and Natalie did indeed visit the lake, debunking any deception from Quentin.
Facing the pictures on his phone, Kevin felt his mind go blank. It dawned on him that he had kept this particular photo in the album because of its exceptional quality; he couldn't bring himself to delete it. Over time, he had simply forgotten about it. Little did he expect Audrey to randomly peruse his phone today—truly, there is always a chink in the armor.
"Sis, let me explain." Kevin stuttered nervously. "There really was nothing between Natalie and me that day at the lake. We just hung out for a bit. I kept it from you to prevent misunderstandings."
"That's enough, no need for explanations." Audrey smiled wistfully, unwilling to hear more. Whatever Kevin said now fell on deaf ears. Observing Kevin's slightly jittery expression, she restrained her emotions. Perhaps she had erred in expecting too much from Kevin. As Quentin had suggested, even a woman as beautiful as Natalie could stir his interests, let alone an eighteen-year-old boy. If Kevin once harbored feelings for her, he would inevitably have similar feelings towards Natalie. Maybe she had set her expectations too high.
"Kevin, I don't care what happened between you and Natalie. I cannot control it, nor do I wish to. That's your freedom. I just think our relationship was a mistake; you were only interested in my body. Now that you have had your fill, seeking novelty elsewhere, isn't that right?" Audrey maintained a calm tone. In reality, she realized she had naively believed Kevin genuinely liked her. Men, after all, were all the same.
"Sis, I truly like you." Hearing Audrey's sarcastic tone, Kevin suddenly felt ashamed, desperate to explain. A dreadful premonition gripped him—this time, he might have irreversibly lost Audrey's trust.
However, Audrey waved off Kevin's attempts to continue speaking, somewhat weary. "Rest assured, I won't tell Aunt about you and Natalie. It's in your hands now. I've said all I needed to say. Whether you listen or not is your choice. No one will be responsible for your future. I just want to remind you that a woman like Natalie is not someone you should toy with. I have to go." With that, she rose to leave.
"Sis, forgive me, please." Kevin stepped in, clutching Audrey's arm anxiously. "I genuinely like only you. I was foolish, and I won't contact her again."
"Enough of this, save these words for Mrs. Garcia." Audrey stared coldly at the once-charming boy who had captivated her. She wouldn't easily fall for someone, but once she did, she couldn't tolerate deceit and betrayal. As she wrestled with these thoughts, entangling herself further served no purpose; perhaps a swift end would be better.
"Kevin, what are you trying to achieve with this? Do you believe this will make me forgive you?" Audrey shook her head, sighing. "Let go—this is best for both of us."
"Sis, we were so happy together; I can't live without you." Yet, faced with Audrey's resolute stance, Kevin knew he had little chance this time. Overwhelmed with regret, paralyzed with fear of stealthily rendezvousing with Natalie and harboring the incriminating photograph on his phone, he rose from the ground. He then embraced his older sister and began kissing her face erratically, pleading, "Sis, I love you. You're mine, and I won't let you go."
"Let go, Kevin." Audrey twisted her face, avoiding the boy's lips. She refused any further physical contact, no longer feeling the affection she once held for Kevin, now overshadowed by resentment.
"Sis, we were so happy together. I can't live without you." Kevin clung tightly to Audrey's slender frame, pressing her against the office desk. He then peeled off her high heels, lifted her tight skirt, revealing her lower body entirely. He buried his face between Audrey's voluptuous thighs, using his tongue through the stockings to tease her plump and moist labia.
