Chapter 502 Stop

"Stop!" Suddenly, a furious shout came from beside, startling the man. His hand trembled, and the phone fell to the ground. When he turned his head, he saw a high school student standing next to him, glaring at him angrily.

Grace also turned around at this moment and saw Kevin coming out of the storeroom at some point. She frowned and asked, "Kevin, what are you doing out here?"

"Mrs. Cooper, this guy was just peeking at you and even took photos with his phone," Kevin explained. He always felt suspicious about this middle-aged man and decided to keep an eye on him at the door. Sure enough, he caught the man taking photos of Grace.

"Nonsense! How did you, you little brat, see me taking photos?" The man refused to admit to taking photos and coldly demanded, "You broke my phone. You owe me a new one or give me two thousand bucks."

"Alright, Driver, I think this is just a misunderstanding," Grace quickly intervened, "He's just a kid, not sensible. Please don't argue with him."

However, the man persisted and threatened to call the police. Fortunately, his phone only had a Youth scratch on the case. In the end, Grace reluctantly compensated him a hundred bucks and sent him away.

After the man left, Grace, feeling frustrated, said, "Kevin, can you stop causing trouble for me? I was about to sell a dress just now, but now I'm out a hundred bucks. I've wasted my day."

"Mrs. Cooper, that guy was indeed taking photos of you," Kevin insisted, feeling aggrieved. "I saw it with my own eyes. I'm not lying to you."

"So what? Do you have evidence? Can I trust you, and would the police believe you?" Grace's anger grew as she spoke, "Even if he was taking photos, it's no big deal. I'm the one losing money. Besides, if he wants to buy clothes, I'd even undress for him to take photos. What's it to you?"

Kevin was taken aback by Grace's words, feeling a pang of bitterness. He had tried to help Grace avoid being taken advantage of, but she didn't appreciate it. He sarcastically remarked, "I didn't expect this is how you do business."

Hearing Kevin's sarcastic words, Grace's pent-up frustration exploded. She pointed at Kevin and said, "Yes, this is how I do business. I'll show my body to whoever I want, let them touch me if I want. Who are you to control me? Even my husband wouldn't dare. Who do you think you are? Just because you have a big dick, there are plenty of men willing to sleep with me. If you want to, get in line behind."

Kevin felt a chill run down his spine, realizing he had overstepped. He nodded, his voice hoarse, "Mrs. Cooper, I was wrong. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have interfered. I won't do it again. I'll find a way to give you back that hundred bucks. I'm leaving."

With that, he turned and walked out of the clothing store, looking lost.

Seeing Kevin leave in a dejected state, Grace also felt a pang of regret. She had said those words in anger. If she were a promiscuous woman, she wouldn't have stayed with a useless husband all these years. Her ex-boyfriend Chase, who was the head of the school's disciplinary office, had better qualities than her husband, but Grace had never agreed to reconcile with him. She didn't want to be a fickle woman.

Grace had a relationship with Kevin not just because of his size but also because she had known him since he was a child. She had even breastfed him, so she felt a maternal connection to him. Moreover, after her son Andy violated her, awakening her long-suppressed desires, she impulsively had a relationship with Kevin. It seemed like it was all destined to happen.

Although Grace was hot-tempered, she was not unreasonable. Upon reflection, she realized Kevin was trying to protect her, and she shouldn't have lashed out at him. The real culprit was that shameless man. If it were a different situation, she would have reported him without hesitation or even slapped him.

But now she was running a clothing store, and all customers were important. In a city this size, causing a scene would harm her business. So, Grace chose to swallow her pride and let it go.

However, Kevin, being a high school student, only saw things in black and white. In the adult world, things were not so clear-cut. In school, the school leaders were always right, and in the store, the customer was always right.

Perhaps Kevin's intentions were good, but the result was causing trouble for Grace. She sighed inwardly, realizing how difficult it was for a woman to make a living in this society, especially in a place where personal connections mattered so much. Every department, from commerce to taxation to fire safety, required some form of bribery. Without a man to support her, it was tough.

Her husband Byron was weak and useless, not someone she could rely on. Chase had some capabilities, but Grace was reluctant to ask for his help. Kevin only caused trouble and rebelled against her. She wondered how long she and Bethany could sustain this clothing store together.

But Grace was not one to give up easily. She had committed to this business with Bethany, knowing the challenges. If others could make big money, why couldn't she?

At forty, halfway through her life, with a mediocre career as a high school physical education teacher and a lackluster marriage, Grace refused to accept a mediocre existence. This clothing store was her turning point, her breakthrough. She had to seize it, no matter how tough it got.
