Chapter 973 An Elder Brother’s Dilemma

She quickly dressed, thighs clenching and hips swaying, hurrying out of the communal bathhouse with a face flushed red. It hadn't even been two days since she last saw Kevin, yet her body already felt so deprived. The long-suppressed flames of desire had been ignited so easily, making it nearly impossible to quench them. Audrey sighed inwardly, thinking she might indeed have to surrender to indulgence, just like Alissa.

Back in her hometown, she had tried to avoid Kevin, fearing that the raging fire within her would consume her entirely. Yet, once she left her hometown, Audrey found herself yearning to see the cousin she loved and couldn't resent. She imagined him roughly stripping off her clothes, his soft tongue exploring every inch of her body, his strong hands kneading her breasts, and his hot, rigid member thrusting deep into her. Her thoughts lingered on the memory of him filling her womb with his searing, viscous essence.

Such thrilling sensations were hard to forget, though they left her feeling somewhat helpless. She wasn't naturally a licentious woman. Had Jason remained in their hometown, even though his member was less than half the size of Kevin's and he rarely lasted more than five minutes, leaving her frustrated, she would never have betrayed her husband. But everything seemed predestined; she had tried her best but could no longer withstand the agony.

Returning home, Audrey found her elder brother Jerome squatting in the yard, smoking, and looking troubled. She approached gently and asked, "Brother, what’s the matter?"

Jerome glanced at her, paused, and then said hesitantly, "It’s nothing serious. I just got stuck with a counterfeit bill today, and your sister-in-law wasn’t happy and had a few complaints."

Jerome ran a small general store in town, earning about three to four thousand a month. However, his wife, Tessa, often berated him for his limited earnings while she idled away her days, leaving their child with the grandparents and heading to the mahjong parlor with friends. Though Audrey’s parents were dissatisfied, they tolerated Tessa for giving their family a son to carry on the lineage.

Audrey shook her head helplessly and said, "Brother, Sister-in-law is being a bit unreasonable. You work hard every day, and she should be more understanding. Let me talk to her."

"Forget it," Jerome quickly stopped her. "Your sister-in-law is just like that. I'm used to it. If she didn’t nag me every day, I wouldn’t know what to do." He sighed and added, "Audrey, you and Jason have been married for three years now. Why haven’t you thought about having children yet? Women have a harder time bearing children as they age. While Mom and Dad are still healthy enough to help with a baby, you should consider it seriously."

"Brother, don’t worry about me," Audrey replied with a slight smile, though her heart felt bitter. She yearned for a child but the instability of her marriage with Jason posed too many uncertainties.

At that moment, a flamboyantly dressed woman walked into the yard. Seeing Audrey, she grinned and said, "Audrey, since you’re finally home, you must stay a few more days. Dad and Mom always talk about you; it’s really not fair to them."

This woman was Tessa, Jerome’s wife, tall and about Audrey’s height, with her hair styled in large waves. A golden necklace glimmered on her fair neck, her white clothing hinting at the black lingerie underneath, and a pair of red heels with heels over ten centimeters tall adorned her feet. Though such attire was common in big cities like Starhaven, it stood out strikingly in their small town.

Audrey knew well that despite Tessa’s seemingly warm words, she wasn’t truly welcome. Her presence drew the family’s attention away from Tessa, who loved to be in the spotlight. Given Audrey's natural beauty and figure, even without trying, she would always outshine Tessa, leading to Tessa's evident displeasure.

"Sister-in-law," Audrey called warmly, drawing Tessa aside. She took out a thousand dollars from her pocket and said with a smile, "I’m always busy with work and rarely have the time to visit. Brother works hard to earn a living, so please take care of things at home. Here’s a thousand dollars for my nephew's toys."

"Oh, Audrey, what’s this for? You don't have to do this," Tessa responded, though her hands swiftly pocketed the money. Her previously sour expression brightened considerably as she clasped Audrey's hand affectionately and said, "I really hope you can stay longer. By the way, Dean starts middle school soon, and his English isn’t great. You’re an English teacher; perhaps you could give him some tutoring?"

"Of course, I’d be happy to," Audrey nodded. Village folks married young and had children early. Jerome, being six years older, had already had Dean while Audrey was still in junior high. Now, Dean was already twelve years old.

Tessa, pleased with the thousand dollars, offered to cook dinner and swayed her hips as she went off to buy groceries. Audrey entered the house and saw her nephew Dean, a sturdy lad, absorbed in a video game.

"Dean, your mom asked me to help you with your English. Show me your exam papers from last term," Audrey said with a smile. She had helped care for Dean in his early years, better than Tessa had, and they shared a close bond. Every year she would bring him toys during the Spring Festival.

"Just a moment, Auntie. Let me finish this level," Dean replied, eyes glued to the screen and fingers rapidly tapping the controller as he guided the character through obstacles. Kevin would probably laugh at him for struggling through such an easy game like Contra.

Audrey stood by patiently, understanding that teenage boys loved their games. She reflected on how Kevin didn’t seem much into gaming, perhaps due to strict discipline from Aunt Bethany. She knew she had to talk to Tessa about not letting Dean play too many games, as neglecting studies in middle school could lead to serious academic decline.

Finally, Dean defeated the boss and set down the controller. He stretched his fingers and, with a mischievous grin at Audrey, asked, "What did you say, Auntie? I didn’t hear you."
