Chapter 225 Peeking at the Perky Butt
Kevin was furious. This guy had no shame. Even after Audrey refused him, Avery still had the gall to invite himself over. If Kevin wasn't carrying groceries, he would have loved to hit him with a brick.
Audrey noticed Kevin 's displeasure and gently tugged his arm, saying softly, "It's okay, Kevin . We'll let him eat, and then he can leave."
She wasn't happy about it either. Having an outsider at their dinner would be uncomfortable, but Avery was their neighbor, and it wouldn't be good to sour relations.
Avery soon returned with a bottle of red wine, claiming it was a gift from a government official and perfect for women. He suggested Audrey should drink more, his lecherous eyes frequently darting to her ample breasts and firm butt. It was clear he had ulterior motives.
Audrey asked Kevin to keep Avery company in the living room while she took the groceries to the kitchen. She often cooked at home, so she managed well on her own, only occasionally glancing at the living room to ensure Kevin and Avery didn't clash.
Kevin sat on the sofa, flipping through TV channels, irritated by Avery's incessant chatter but unable to show it.
Avery, feeling ignored by Kevin , glanced at Audrey's curvy silhouette in the kitchen, swallowing hard. He fantasized about being alone with her, unaware that his presence was only tolerated because of Kevin .
Realizing Audrey doted on Kevin , Avery decided to win him over. He smiled slyly and asked, "Kevin , what sports do you like at school?"
"Basketball," Kevin replied without looking up, not wanting to engage further.
"Do you like swimming?" Avery asked conspiratorially. "Our city just opened a new water park with an outdoor pool. I can get you two tickets. You could take a girl from your class. It's a lot of fun."
Kevin smirked inwardly. This guy thought he could bribe him with tickets. Just as he was about to refuse, an idea struck him. Why not take Audrey instead? They hadn't gone out together yet, and it could be a chance to get closer. He smiled and said, "Sure, Mr. Williams. Where are the tickets?"
"Just so happens I've got two here."
Avery was pleased to see Kevin 's interest and quickly took out two tickets from his pocket and handed them to Kevin . However, he felt a twinge of pain. He had worked hard to get these two tickets from the government, originally planning to relax with his wife. Tickets were now $8 each, and he wouldn't have minded if he was giving them to Audrey instead. He consoled himself, thinking that once he sorted out Kevin , he would have a chance to get closer to Audrey. The money was a small price to pay for that opportunity.
Seeing Avery's barely contained excitement, Kevin still felt annoyed. He wanted to find a way to deal with Avery and stop him from bothering Audrey. When Avery got up to use the bathroom, Kevin seized the opportunity to rush into the kitchen.
Audrey had already cooked three dishes. Kevin volunteered, "Cousin, let me help. I often cook at home. It's too hot in here; you should cool off."
"Really?" Audrey looked surprised, her face flushed and sweating a bit on her forehead. With only one dish left to prepare and feeling the heat, she couldn't bear it any longer. Normally, she would cook in a cool nightgown when alone, but today, she couldn't change clothes. After a moment's thought, she said to Kevin , "Alright then, I'll leave this to you. I'll go tidy up the dining table."
Once Audrey left, Kevin quickly heated the oil, added the steak, and then mischievously dumped in five or six spoonfuls of pepper, planning to give Avery a taste of his cooking.
When Kevin finished, Audrey had already set the table with three dishes, along with the bottle of wine. It looked like a feast, especially with Audrey's sexy figure adding to the scene. Unfortunately, both Kevin and Avery wished the other wasn't there.
Audrey smiled at Kevin , noting his restraint. She had expected him to find a way to get rid of Avery. Seeing them both hesitate to eat, she said, "Don't just stand there. Eat before the food gets cold."
Avery eagerly poured wine for Audrey and Kevin , praising Audrey's cooking. "Mrs. Johnson, your cooking is amazing, much better than my wife's. I'm lucky to have this meal. How about I cook for you sometime?"
Kevin 's face darkened. This guy was trying to get closer to Audrey. He picked up the steak and put it in Avery's bowl, smiling, "Mr. Williams, this is my cousin's specialty. You should try it."
"Really? I must," Avery said, taking a bite. But his face twisted as the overly salty steak hit his taste buds. He instinctively wanted to spit it out, finding it unbearably salty.
