Chapter 936 Confessions from the Well-Endowed Cousin
After a while, a faint sound of footsteps could be heard at the bedroom door, followed by the gentle creak of it being pushed open. Kevin knew it was his cousin coming in and dared not move a muscle.
"Kevin, Kevin..." Audrey's gentle voice echoed through the darkness, but Kevin didn't dare respond, continuing to feign sleep, even starting to snore.
"This child..." Audrey sighed when Kevin did not acknowledge her. She walked directly to the bedside and sat down, speaking to herself. "It's just as well you're asleep. There are things I don't know how to say to you face-to-face. In truth, being with you makes your cousin very happy, you know? The past six months have been tough for me. Every day, I came home to an empty house with no one to talk to. Then you came along. On the surface, I was helping you, but honestly, it was you who kept me company. Thank you, Kevin. I don't know if I could have carried on without you."
"But I'm scared, scared that one day we'll be forced to part ways, and even more afraid that I'll ruin you. You're a young man with a bright future ahead of you. You think your cousin is that heartless, that unfeeling? I'm just a normal woman. Sometimes I tell myself, 'Why think about so much? Just give everything to him, and we'll both be happy. Deal with the consequences later.' But I don't want to be that selfish. Your mother has worked so hard to raise you on her own, dreaming that you would get into a great university. She's over forty now and still has to work tirelessly to earn money. I can't and won't destroy her dreams."
"Kevin, forgive your cousin, please? I really don't mean to neglect you. You're courageous, kind, and just, and you can empathize with others. I'm proud of you, but I hope to see you grow and reach greater heights. Our hometown is too small; one day, you'll leave here and soar. When that happens, you'll understand my struggles. The world is vast and worth exploring. You'll meet a girl truly worth loving, and you two can walk hand in hand in the sunshine, without fear of judgment or burdens. When that day comes, your cousin will silently bless you. Do you understand?"
With that, Audrey stood up and walked out of the room. On the bed, Kevin was already in tears. He finally understood why his cousin's attitude toward him was so mercurial. In the past, he always thought she was deliberately tormenting him, but hearing her heartfelt confession, he realized she had been enduring her own struggle. He just wanted to be close to her, but he had never considered the immense pressure she was under.
For the next three days, Kevin continued to study tirelessly, eventually memorizing the entire dictionary. Audrey randomly tested him on dozens of words, and he recited them all flawlessly.
"Alright, Kevin, you've performed excellently. How about this: you've been cooped up inside for a few days. Let's go out and get some fresh air," Audrey said, satisfied, placing the dictionary aside. Since returning to her hometown, she had mostly stayed at home with Kevin, only going out to buy groceries. It was the perfect time to take a break and go for a walk.
Kevin, however, displayed a peculiar expression, stammering, "Sis, um, didn't you say if I memorized it, you'd help me...?"
Audrey's face flushed. She had only said that to motivate Kevin to study. Who would have thought his enthusiasm would surge, leading him to memorize an entire thick dictionary? Should she really help him now? She didn't want to go back on her word, but she also feared losing control of their relationship.
"We'll talk about it tonight. Let me change clothes first," Audrey quickly said before hurriedly retreating to her bedroom.
Five minutes later, Kevin and Audrey stepped out of the house. Fortunately, the rain from the previous day had cooled the air, making it pleasant for a walk.
Audrey wore a white floral sundress that hugged her tall and voluptuous figure. The thin fabric clung tightly to her ample bosom, revealing a deep, creamy cleavage. The short skirt just surpassed her knees, accentuating her rounded hips, with her long, slender legs in black stockings adding to her mature and sexy look.
Kevin held his beautiful cousin's delicate hand, watching men on the street gaze at her with infatuated expressions. He felt both proud and frustrated. He was lucky to have such an enchanting cousin, yet unfortunate because he couldn't truly have her. Audrey had made it clear she wouldn’t be intimate with him like Alissa, and even handjobs were now contingent on significant achievements. Life felt utterly devoid of joy.
Walking hand-in-hand, they resembled a young couple in love, drawing envious and jealous looks. But who would have thought their relationship was so complicated?
Despite everything, strolling with his alluring cousin was a matter of pride. Seeing other men drool over her splendid figure, Kevin couldn't help but feel a tad triumphant. He had experienced her enormous bosom so intimately, even inserting his glans into her honeyed entrance. That counted, right?
While Kevin was lost in his thoughts, a BMW pulled up beside them. A glamorous lady in sunglasses leaned out, smiling. "Is that you, Mrs. Johnson? I haven't seen you recently. Did you go on a family visit? When did you return?"
The woman was none other than Natalie. Last time, when Audrey visited Clearbrook, she and Natalie had crossed paths but weren’t particularly close. After all, one worked within the system, the other outside it, having little common ground. Despite Natalie's friendliness, Audrey felt it best to keep her distance from a woman so deeply involved in the world of business.
"Ah, Miss President, I returned a few days ago," Audrey smiled politely. "I saw you on TV investing in Clearbrook. Congratulations on your new business venture."
"Oh, it’s nothing much, just a Youth affair. Really, I was just joining the excitement; others are playing on a much grander scale," Natalie responded humbly, though her face displayed an unmistakable hint of pride.
Natalie had gone to Clearbrook with determination, investing a hefty five million—a significant part of her assets. She wasn’t just interested in the vice-chairman position but the tourism company's official connections, notably its president's ties with Armando. It meant aligning herself with powerful allies.
Interestingly, Natalie's strategic moves wouldn't have been as precise without Kevin's inside information on Armando's plans. Clearbrook was a hotbed of development with many companies, both legitimate and dubious. Without the right intel, one could easily suffer massive losses. Hence, Natalie was quite pleased with Kevin. She had initially planned to reward him at her cabin, but Kevin insisted on staying home and doing homework. Since Natalie had business to handle, she thought she’d catch up with Kevin later.
Unexpectedly, she bumped into him today. Seeing Kevin with Audrey, her elegant and beautiful cousin, Natalie quickly put the pieces together. No wonder Kevin hadn’t wanted to come out; his cousin had returned.
“Kevin, you must be thrilled your cousin is back. Bring her along to visit me sometime. I’ve got to run now,” Natalie said, not saying much else before driving off.
Kevin exhaled, relieved that Natalie hadn't been overly familiar, sparing Audrey any suspicions.
As they continued, Audrey looked at Kevin, frowning slightly. "Kevin, have you been seeing Natalie often while I was away?"
Although Natalie’s behavior seemed normal, Audrey sensed something off. The way Natalie looked at Kevin wasn’t quite right; no one else might notice, but Audrey’s instincts told her otherwise.
“No, not really. I just bumped into her once when I went singing at a bar with some friends from school,” Kevin stammered, concealing the incident where he walked in on Natalie in her office.
“You should avoid getting involved with her. Businesswomen like her can be very cunning, and her complicated connections might bring trouble. Do you understand?” Audrey said sternly, unconsciously tightening her grip on Kevin’s arm as if she feared Natalie would lure him away.
“I understand, Sis,” Kevin replied, enjoying the feel of his arm pressed against her soft breasts, thinking that as long as he could stay by her side, he could forgo every other woman in the world.
“Kevin…” Audrey said hesitantly, “Do you think I’m meddlesome? You’re still young and don’t understand many things. Will you find me bothersome?”
“Sis, how could I?” Kevin said with a smile. “I know you’re looking out for me. Apart from my mom, no one else in this world cares for me as much as you do.”
“I’m glad you understand,” Audrey smiled, her face blooming like a flower. She held Kevin’s arm tighter, not minding his arm pressing against her breasts, a hint of sweetness flashing in her eyes.
Soon, the two of them arrived at the mall on Fudong Street. Kevin saw a clothing store on the second floor and suddenly recalled something, turning to Audrey, “Sis, do you know where Caroline is now?”
“She’s not in the village anymore?” Audrey was puzzled, seeing the look on Kevin’s face suggested there was more to the story. She frowned, “Have you seen her?”
Kevin chuckled, “Seen her? She's now a sales assistant in my mom’s clothing store. Do you want to go up and meet her?”
“What happened?” Audrey was surprised, pulling Kevin toward the second floor. Once there, she quickly understood the situation and sympathized with Caroline's plight, feeling even more grateful to Kevin. If not for him, Caroline might have ended up homeless, or worse, in dangerous circumstances.
Entering the clothing store, a staff member approached them with a welcoming smile, “Hello, welcome! Ah, Audrey, you’re back!”
