Chapter 797: Heading South to Starhaven
The two left the hourly motel room and entered the crowded waiting hall of the train station. The hall was packed with people, creating a cacophony of noise. Businessmen in suits were talking on their phones, adding to the chaotic scene.
However, as soon as the tall and beautiful Audrey walked into the waiting hall, the noise subsided. All eyes turned to the elegant and attractive woman. To prepare for the long train ride, Audrey wore a shirt and jeans paired with a light coat, but even this modest outfit couldn't hide her curvaceous figure.
Her long, shapely legs were accentuated by the tight jeans, exuding the vitality unique to a young woman. Her full, rounded hips swayed enticingly with each step.
What caught the most attention was her ample chest, straining against her shirt, seemingly ready to burst out at any moment. The men around her stared, mouths agape, swallowing hard. If it weren't for the tall young man standing beside her, someone might have already approached her.
Kevin held Audrey's delicate hand, feeling a surge of pride as he noticed the attention she garnered. His cousin's charm was undeniable, making her the center of attention wherever she went. Even though she tried to keep a low profile, her radiant beauty and voluptuous figure couldn't be concealed.
Having such a stunningly beautiful woman by his side, Kevin felt like he was living a dream. Although he hadn't fully claimed Audrey yet, he had made significant progress, reaching about ninety-five percent. The final step remained elusive, frustrating him.
They found a secluded corner and sat down. Audrey checked the time and said to Kevin, "Alright, you can go home now. I'll board the train in a bit. You don't need to wait for me."
"No way, sis. I want to see you off," Kevin said, clinging to Audrey, unwilling to let her go.
"Come on, everyone is watching. Aren't you embarrassed?" Audrey said, feeling a bit self-conscious.
"Let them watch. They don't know me anyway," Kevin replied with a cheeky grin. He suddenly kissed Audrey's cheek, "They might even think we're a couple."
"Hey, what are you doing?" Audrey blushed, glancing around nervously. She saw a few men looking at Kevin enviously but didn't recognize any familiar faces. Relieved, she pinched Kevin's waist, "Behave yourself."
Kevin chuckled, hiding his sadness. He took a small, exquisite box from his pocket and handed it to Audrey.
"Isn't this...?" Audrey opened the box, surprised to find the set of sunscreen she had wanted to buy at the supermarket. She looked at Kevin, "Where did you get this?"
"Sis, it's a gift from me. I heard the sun in Starhaven is very harsh. Use this to protect your skin. Don't let yourself get sunburned; I'd feel terrible," Kevin said, looking at Audrey's fair, delicate skin. The thought of her getting sunburned distressed him.
"Who told you to buy this? It's too expensive," Audrey frowned. "And where did you get the money? You didn't steal it from Aunt, did you?"
"Sis, what do you take me for? This is my own money," Kevin quickly explained. "Mrs. Garcia gave me a gift card for school supplies. I saved it and used it to buy this sunscreen for you since I didn't know what else to get."
"Don't waste money like this again. Focus on your studies," Audrey said, accepting the sunscreen. She felt touched by Kevin's thoughtfulness, but...
Suddenly, a clear announcement echoed through the hall, "Passengers heading to Starhaven, please proceed to the ticket gate."
Audrey stood up, smiling at Kevin, "Alright, it's time for you to go. I really have to leave now."
"Wait, sis," Kevin said, taking another small box from his pocket and handing it to Audrey.
Curious, Audrey opened the box to find a small, pen-like wooden stick. It was intricately carved with erotic scenes, making her blush. She realized it was a sex toy.
"Kevin, you're too much. I don't want this," she said, about to throw it away.
"Don't throw it," Kevin grabbed her arm, smiling. "Sis, it's not for that. It's for protection." He twisted the pen to reveal a sharp spike about five centimeters long.
"I'm going to Starhaven, not a war zone. Why would I need this? And it won't pass security," Audrey said, exasperated.
"It's not metal, it's plastic," Kevin explained. "The train is crowded, and you never know who you might encounter. Starhaven station is also known to be chaotic. Better safe than sorry."
"Where am I supposed to keep it?" Audrey frowned. She was wearing a shirt and jeans with a light coat, and her pockets were too small for the pen. Putting it in her luggage would be pointless.
"I've thought of that," Kevin said, taking a black ribbon from the box. He threaded the pen onto the ribbon and hung it around Audrey's neck. "There, if you're in danger, just pull it out."
Realistically, Audrey wouldn't be able to fend off an attacker with the pen, but Kevin hoped it would buy her some time.
"This looks ridiculous," Audrey said, looking at the pen hanging from her neck. She knew Kevin was concerned for her, and not wearing it would hurt his feelings. She decided to take it off once she was on the train.
Kevin also thought it looked awkward, especially with the explicit carvings. He suddenly had an idea and slipped the pen into Audrey's cleavage. "There, now it's hidden."
Audrey felt the pen's coolness against her chest, making her shiver. She glared at Kevin but didn't remove it, thinking she would let him have his way for now since they were about to part.
Kevin, holding Audrey's waist, said reluctantly, "Sis, I can't go with you, so let this pen be my stand-in. When you see it, think of me."
Audrey, touched by his words, gently touched the pen nestled between her breasts. She couldn't help but think of Kevin's penis, wondering if this was his way of marking his territory.
But she was on her way to see another man, her husband, who legally owned her body. Audrey knew Kevin would be hurt. If she reconciled with her husband, she would inevitably drift apart from Kevin, ending their illicit relationship.
Sighing, Audrey patted Kevin's head, "Kevin, take care of yourself while I'm gone. Don't overthink things. I'll always be your cousin. Goodbye."
She quickly walked to the ticket gate, not daring to look back, afraid she might change her mind.
Audrey followed the crowd through the gate but couldn't resist glancing back. She saw Kevin standing alone, waving at her. Her heart ached, and tears welled up in her eyes. She waved back before hurrying down the platform, tears streaming down her face.
Since meeting Jason, Audrey had never been so emotionally attached to another man, nor had she cried for anyone else. But in the few months she had known Kevin, she had shed more tears than ever before. Sometimes she wondered if she owed Kevin a debt from a past life, binding them together in this one.
Initially, Audrey saw Kevin as a curious teenager and wanted to guide him. Learning he was her cousin made her more affectionate but not overly attached. However, as events unfolded, they grew closer, and Audrey found herself completely captivated, both physically and emotionally betraying her husband.
Audrey never imagined she would fall for a teenager. She wasn't someone who would cheat for pleasure or gain, unlike Vanessa, who used her body for career advancement, or Alissa, who indulged in lust. Audrey always believed in staying faithful, even when her husband left for the south. She resisted Oliver's advances, Quentin's threats, and even Angus's charms, hoping to save her marriage.
But she couldn't resist Kevin. Despite telling herself to treat him as a student and cousin, she eagerly responded to his advances. Being with Kevin felt like reliving her romantic youth.
If Kevin were closer to her age, Audrey might have considered divorcing her husband. But Kevin was just a teenager, ten years younger. By the time he finished college, she would no longer be young. She lacked the courage to wait for him to grow up and face societal judgment. She was, after all, just an ordinary woman.
"I'm sorry, Kevin," Audrey whispered, tears falling. She knew this trip would sever her ties with Kevin, leaving no room for their forbidden relationship.
Just then, someone handed her a tissue, saying softly, "Wipe your tears. The wind on the platform can sting your eyes."
