But the day had come. Though Audrey had gone to the city for training before, the distance wasn't far, and Kevin had visited her. But Starhaven was nearly two thousand kilometers away, a six to seven-hour high-speed train ride. Kevin walked into the living room, finding his mother already gone to the market. He entered his mother's bedroom, seeing Audrey packing clothes into a light blue suitcase. A while later, Bethany returned with two large bags of groceries. She told Audrey, "Let's make a nice lunch today. I bought your favorite fish. I'll make steamed fish for you."
"Auntie, you don't have to go to so much trouble. I'm not an outsider," Audrey said, taking the bags from Bethany, feeling a bit embarrassed. "I've already troubled you by staying here these days."
"It's no trouble at all. You helped Kevin with his homework. We're family; no need for formalities," Bethany said with a smile. Seeing Kevin watching TV on the sofa, she whispered to Audrey, "Jason must be anxious. If you don't go soon, he'll come looking for you. You two just got married a few years ago and are already living apart. It's tough. When you get to Starhaven, spend some quality time with him.
