Chapter 1655

"No way, Ethan, I can't betray him. That's it," Audrey said firmly, blocking Ethan's hand to shield her two trembling, ample breasts that were already taken.

Seeing Audrey's guarded look, Ethan suddenly felt disheartened. He wasn't one to be led by desire. Even if he had Audrey's body, he knew he could never have her heart.

But he couldn't shake off the feeling of injustice. Why did a guy like Jason get everything effortlessly, having a woman like Audrey by his side who was willing to endure loneliness for him?

Ever since hearing about Jason's move down south, Ethan had daydreams of Audrey and her husband having conflicts, maybe even divorcing. He thought he might have a shot with Audrey. He wouldn't do anything sketchy, but he wouldn't just sit around either.

For years, he turned down setups from friends and family, silently keeping an eye on Audrey, hoping to sway her with his actions.

Time went by, and Audrey and he went from casual colleagues to confidants. But their relationship never went further. Their interactions were limited to the school grounds. They never shared a meal or watched a movie together. Audrey never reciprocated his advances, leaving him in a one-sided pursuit.

"I'm sorry, Ms. Johnson. I got carried away," Ethan said, slowly letting go of her hand as his boiling blood cooled.

"It's okay," Audrey replied, fixing her disheveled hair. With lowered eyelids, she calmly said, "Ethan, you're a good man. I believe you'll be a great husband and father someday. You'll find your happiness. Don't let me hold you back. I'm not worth it."

"You are worth it."

Ethan couldn't bring himself to say those words. He just gazed deeply at Audrey, who stood tall and graceful, her face blushing, resembling a goddess statue, captivating him.

Sadly, he couldn't win the goddess's heart. He forced a wry smile, shook his head, and walked away heavily. Watching Ethan's desolate figure, Audrey felt a pang of regret. Despite trying to avoid mixed signals, she had still hurt him.

She composed herself and returned to her office, finding it empty. Sitting down to write her year-end summary, she couldn't shake Ethan's words from her mind, leaving her feeling lost.

Maybe she and Jason should split. They had both betrayed each other, so what was the point of hiding it?

But divorce wasn't straightforward. It involved two families, parents on both sides. How would she explain it to her parents? Should she tell them Jason had cheated, so she did too out of revenge? That would only upset them.

Plus, Jason's father was sick. If anything happened to him, she'd feel guilty forever. Despite Jason's actions, his father had always been kind to her.

Jason had wanted to move his father to town for better medical care, but he refused, not wanting to disrupt their lives. He endured his illness in the village, never reaching out even when seeking treatment in town.

Audrey appreciated Jason's father, but their marriage couldn't be solely about pleasing their parents.

What was the right move?

Audrey was in turmoil. She wasn't decisive and often let fate take the wheel. Her relationship with Kevin had only progressed with Alissa's help. Approaching thirty, she felt less certain than a teenager.

Kevin, impulsive as ever, had been in the mix with her and Alissa since high school. It was cringeworthy to think about.

In the end, Audrey chose to wait for Jason to come back home. She would have a serious talk with him and see where he stood. If he insisted on staying down south, she would consider divorce. If he agreed to return to Harmony County, she would give him another chance. Despite making a decision, Audrey's heart still felt heavy. Whether she divorced or stayed, there were many hurdles ahead. Even if she split, being with Kevin was off the table. Bethany might try to set her up with someone new, and Ethan might think he had another shot. If she didn't divorce, how would she juggle her husband and Kevin? She could only stall things until Kevin finished high school and headed off to college, then she'd have some freedom.

Audrey sighed, grabbed her pen, and started writing swiftly on the paper. She knew that the decision to split or stick together would weigh on her for a long time.

Meanwhile, at Sunset Valley High School's entrance, a shadowy figure sneaked in. It was Sean, a senior member of Audrey's fan group. He hadn't paid much attention to the group's photos before, being a class leader in Class 56 gave him plenty of chances to interact with Audrey up close, even catching glimpses of her proudly standing bosom, making him one of the luckiest guys at Sunset Valley High School.

But this semester, with Audrey as the Homeroom Teacher for Class 57, Sean felt like he had fallen from heaven to hell. Audrey's attitude towards him had turned icy, not giving him any chances to get close, not even responding to his messages. He might have been blocked.

This left Sean in despair, his grades dropping. His mother, Cynthia, desperate, had tried to get him transferred to Class 57, but it didn't work out. If Kevin hadn't been surrounded by girls now, he might have had an affair with Cynthia, given his past behavior.

Unaware of his mother's efforts, Sean watched Audrey from afar, his love morphing into resentment, harboring strong hatred towards Audrey for her indifference.

Tonight, he was at home playing a virtual girlfriend game, using the virtual character to engage in various sexual positions with Audrey, dressing her in sexy outfits, admiring her provocative performance, fantasizing about being intimate with her while pleasuring himself.

Seeing a message from the group, Sean's mind raced. If he could capture photos of Audrey having an affair with the principal, maybe he could use it to blackmail her into being with him, or at least get a glimpse of those enticing breasts. Excited by the idea, he quickly got dressed, sneaked out of the house, and headed straight to the school. Luckily, Edgar was working late at the end of the year, and Cynthia was busy, not paying attention to him.

Sean entered the school, took a couple of photos of the office building, and posted them in the group, "I'm at the school now, waiting for some good news."

"He really went to the school. Waiting for your updates."

Sean hurried to the second floor, stealthily approaching Audrey's office door. Peeking through the curtain, he saw Audrey inside, sitting at her desk writing something, wearing a white sweater that accentuated her ample breasts, with a slender neck and a charming face.

He aimed his phone at Audrey and took a picture, posting it in the group, "Disappointing news, Ms. Johnson is still working late, not with Oliver."

"I knew it was fake. Ms. Johnson is always professional. How could she be interested in a creep like Oliver? If she were to have an affair, it would be with a younger male teacher."

"That MeatBall guy talks nonsense. I think he's just trying to smear her."

"Ugh, can you guys stop? Don't distract me from looking at Ms. Johnson. That sweater looks great on her. Hey, do you think she's wearing a bra right now?"

"Definitely not. I can even see her nipples."

"Really? I can't see that. The photo is too blurry. Can you take clearer ones, preferably closer?"

Sean cursed inwardly. He was already as close as he could get without going inside. These people were really pushing it.

Unaware of the peeping, Audrey finished her report, checked it, stretched, and suddenly felt some discomfort in her breasts. Unsure if it was because she hadn't worn a bra for a few days, she got up, locked the door, and gently massaged her chest.
