Chapter 1351
A low rumble of thunder echoed outside, mingling with the sounds of suppressed moans and gasps coming from within the room. The woman's voice was melodic and drawn out, like a contralto's rich tones resonating through an opera house, hauntingly beautiful and lingering in the air. It also brought to mind the hushed whispers of fairies deep within a forest, a sound that almost touched the soul. That tender, intimate melody could bewitch any man, drawing him into a world of sweet fantasy.
"God, I'm so horny." Audrey bit her lip, a wave of heat washing over her, making her skin tingle and her body restless. She ached for a man, for the friction of a hard cock against her throbbing clit. But Kevin wasn't there. She was alone in the Board of Education guesthouse, unable to sleep. Oliver, the principal, was in the next room. If it were Vanessa, she thought, she'd probably be banging on his door by now, begging for it. But Audrey wouldn't stoop to that. Not even for Oliver. And certainly not if it were Angus, the City Education Director, next door. She would never use her body to advance her career. Plenty of other female teachers did, though.
She remembered a story, recounted with breathless detail by one of the younger teachers in the office. A teacher, ambitious like Vanessa, had gone into a school administrator's office, stripped naked, and tried to seduce him. But the man's wife had walked in. She'd dragged the naked teacher out into the hallway, ripped her clothes off completely, and started pulling her hair and scratching her face. The woman's body, breasts and all, was covered in marks. Then the wife had paraded her through the streets, a spectacle of public humiliation.
A crowd had gathered, of course, pointing and whispering. Eventually, someone had called the police. By the time they arrived and separated the two women, the teacher had lost control of her bladder and bowels. It was a horrific scene. Audrey hadn't witnessed it herself, but the young teacher's retelling was vivid enough. The reality, she imagined, was even more chaotic and brutal.
The county had sent a special investigation team, led by the County Education Director. They'd interviewed teachers, scrutinized the administrator's behavior, and dissected the female teacher's past conduct. Anyone who'd ever had a conflict with her had piled on. In the end, the teacher was fired and transferred to a remote elementary school – a devastating blow. The administrator was dismissed, too.
He'd eventually landed a principal position at a small village school, though, and had even become some kind of model of rehabilitation, giving speeches at county commendation conferences. His wife, apparently, regretted her outburst. It had cost her husband the vice-principal position, and their income had suffered. She was supposed to be the innocent one, but Audrey knew there was no such thing as truly innocent in these situations. Everyone was complicit.
Audrey had once believed that reason governed the world. Years of experience had taught her how naive that was. The world was messy, complicated. She'd been too idealistic. She was a teacher, that's all. She wasn't cut out for anything else. If she were principal, she doubted she could do any better than Oliver. He was a good administrator, even if he wasn't a good man. He was married, and yet he'd come on to her. She despised that. He'd lied to her, too, about his wife, about having ED. She'd seen proof otherwise. She wouldn't be fooled again. She had her suspicions about today, but Oliver wasn't Quentin. Maybe she was being paranoid.
"Damn, I wish I'd brought that vibrator." The thought of the vibrator Bethany had given her made her blush. Her fingers drifted across her flat stomach.
Bethany, Kevin's mother, had bought a couple of vibrators from that new adult store in the mall. Audrey had been too embarrassed to use it at first, but eventually, desperation had won out. She'd been using it ever since. It was… nice. But it wasn't the same as the real thing. The best part was how easy it was. Flip a switch, and you were good to go. Easy cleanup, too.
She wondered how many other women at the school used vibrators. Alissa, probably. Vanessa? She seemed so buttoned-up. But maybe that was just an act.
Audrey liked to think of herself as a decent person, organized and clean. But she had her weaknesses. Kevin, for one. She told herself it was about getting back at Jason. Men cheated all the time and got away with it. Women were condemned. It wasn't fair. But the truth was, Kevin made her hot. He had a big cock, and she wanted it. Badly.
Thinking about Kevin made the heat between her legs intensify. She slipped her fingers inside herself, moving them rhythmically. Her other hand cupped her breast, squeezing it hard, the flesh turning red. Ever since she started sleeping with Kevin, she couldn't seem to control herself.
Whenever he touched her, kissed her, held her, she felt an overwhelming urge to rip his clothes off and have him right then and there. The rules she set for him, the restrictions, were as much for her as they were for him. She was afraid of what would happen if she let go completely. She was afraid of becoming one of those women who couldn't think of anything but sex, who chased after men constantly.
Sometimes, she understood the women who cheated while their husbands were away. The urge was primal, overwhelming. Even with the strongest willpower, she knew that eventually, the pressure would build until it exploded, consuming her entirely.
She resented Jason. If he hadn't insisted on going to work down South, none of this would have happened. As much as she enjoyed being with Kevin, she didn't want to be a cheater. She didn't want to risk her marriage, her reputation. She missed the early days with Jason, back in Skyview City, when they were broke but happy. They'd eat dinner together, talk about their dreams, hold each other close at night.
Those were the best times. No fighting, no suspicion. Just the two of them, looking forward to a brighter future. She'd imagined them saving up, borrowing money from family, finally buying a small place of their own. A little nest in the city. Then they'd have kids, a family. Even if they struggled to make the mortgage payments, she wouldn't have cared. Most people weren't rich. Most people lived ordinary lives. That's all she wanted.
But Jason had gotten restless. He'd quit his job, tried to start his own business. They'd lost everything they'd saved, ended up in debt. They'd come back to Harmony County in disgrace. And even then, he hadn't learned his lesson. He'd taken more risks, gone down South, leaving her alone. He hadn't gotten rich. He'd almost gotten caught up in a drug trafficking ring.
That's when she'd started to lose faith in him. The USB drive had just been the final nail in the coffin. After that, she hadn't cared anymore. She'd given herself to Kevin completely, crossed that line she'd never thought she'd cross.
"Oh, yes… Kevin… harder…" Audrey moaned, her fingers flying, lost in a fantasy of Kevin pounding into her. The pleasure built quickly, intensely. Her body tensed, convulsed. Her muscles clenched around her fingers. A hot gush of fluid erupted from deep inside her, the kind of orgasm every woman craved. She cried out, her body slowly relaxing, a satisfied smile spreading across her face.
After a while, Audrey got up and went to the bathroom to shower. Mid-lather, she heard the phone ringing in her room. She quickly rinsed off, wrapped a towel around herself, and hurried back to answer it. It was Oliver. His voice sounded weak. "Audrey," he said, "I'm not feeling well. Could you come over?"
"Sure, Oliver. I'll be right there." Something in his voice alarmed her. She threw on a robe and went to his door. She had the service staff open it for her. Oliver was leaning against the bathroom door, phone in hand, his face pale. She rushed to his side and helped him to the sofa. He was heavier than she expected, and the effort left her breathless.
She poured him a glass of water. "Here, Oliver," she said softly. "Drink this."
He took a few sips, then exhaled slowly. The color started to return to his face. "Thank you, Audrey," he said gratefully. "I was just taking a shower, and I think the steam got to me. I got dizzy and almost passed out when I reached the door. I could barely stand. Luckily, there was a phone right there."
"You're working too hard, Oliver," Audrey said. "You need to rest." She and Alissa had been putting in long hours at the office lately, but every night when they left, the light in Oliver's office was still on. She couldn't imagine how late he stayed. Daisy wasn't much better off, she thought. Her husband was technically in Harmony County, but he might as well have been on a permanent business trip.
Truthfully, Oliver was the most dedicated and hardworking administrator Audrey had ever known. She didn't want any problems with him. He was genuinely trying to do good work.
"I know, I know," Oliver said, rubbing his temples. "But there's so much to do. I have to get this apartment building project approved by the county, secure funding from the Urban Construction Bureau, manage the construction crews, finalize the application paperwork… Maple Grove High is after this project, too. I have to make sure we get it. It'll be a huge boost for our teachers, for our ability to attract students, for future projects. My goal is to surpass Maple Grove in five years. But I can't do it alone. You young teachers, you're the future of Sunset Valley High."
