Chapter 1260
"Kevin, if you wanna watch, go ahead. It's your birthday after all." Audrey chuckled and whispered in his ear, "Maybe I'll even wear a dress for you tonight."
"Thanks, Audrey," Kevin grinned, thinking Audrey would look amazing in anything.
Watching people around them ordering drinks, he turned to Audrey and said, "Hey, Audrey, should we grab some drinks too? Just sitting here is kinda boring, don't you think?"
"Kevin, we're underage, remember?" Audrey said seriously. "If you're thirsty, I'll get you a soda when we get back."
Just then, a waiter came over with two cocktails and smiled, "Ma'am, these are for you."
"You must have the wrong table," Audrey quickly replied. "We just got here and didn't order anything."
"They're from the gentleman over there," the waiter said, pointing to a guy at a nearby table. The guy raised his glass to Audrey, looking all suave and surrounded by a bunch of well-dressed friends.
Audrey was caught off guard. She'd seen stuff like this on TV but never thought it would happen to her, especially on her first time at a bar.
The waiter, used to this kind of thing, just smiled and walked away. In bars, rich guys sending drinks to pretty girls was pretty standard, and some places even hired attractive women to get these guys to spend more.
Kevin looked at the cocktails and felt a bit annoyed, but he didn't want to make a scene. He saw the guy still watching and got an idea. With a big smile, he picked up his glass and said, "Audrey, it would be rude to refuse. Let's toast."
Audrey hesitated, not wanting to seem too close to Kevin in public, especially since his smile seemed a bit forced. But it was his birthday, so she didn't want to upset him. She linked arms with him, took a small sip, and quickly put the glass down, feeling her cheeks warm up. She wasn't sure if it was the drink or the attention.
The rich guy, who loved causing trouble between couples, was annoyed. He usually enjoyed watching couples fight because of him, but Kevin wasn't taking the bait. Instead, Kevin was turning the tables. Seeing Kevin and Audrey share a drink and ignore him, the guy's mood soured. This was a new experience for him.
"Mr. Castillo, looks like your usual charm isn't working," one of his companions chuckled. "She's not even looking your way."
The group laughed, and a dark look crossed Royce Castillo's face. He took a sip of his drink and smirked, "No worries, the game's just starting."
The others exchanged glances, excited to see Royce, usually untouchable, face a challenge.
Audrey glanced at the laughing group and felt uneasy. She whispered, "Kevin, you shouldn't have provoked them. We don't know these people or this city. Just be careful."
"Audrey, he started it," Kevin said stubbornly. "And if they try anything, we'll call the cops."
Audrey sighed, knowing Kevin didn't understand how complicated things could get. The rich group had influence, and if they decided to play dirty, she and Kevin wouldn't stand a chance.
Suddenly, the waiter came over again, placing a drink in front of Audrey, and said with a smile, "Ma'am, this is from that gentleman over there. It's called a Pink Lady, symbolizing romantic love. Enjoy."
Audrey glanced at Royce, who raised his glass with a smug look. Sensing trouble, she quickly urged Kevin, "Let's get out of here."
"Why should we? Audrey, if we leave now, it looks like we're scared of them." Kevin, feeling provoked and insulted by Royce's gesture, downed the Pink Lady in one go. Its sweet taste was almost like soda, and he defiantly locked eyes with Royce.
Royce smirked and had the waiter bring another cocktail to Audrey, clearly trying to push Kevin's buttons.
Kevin didn't back down, drinking it up again. He figured, why not? He wasn't paying for it.
Money was no issue for Royce. As more cocktails were sent over, the happiest person seemed to be the bartender.
"Enough, Kevin, stop drinking," Audrey said urgently. Those cocktails were strong, and even with the mixers, too many could still get him drunk.
"Audrey, don't worry. I want to see how many drinks he can send." Kevin slurred, feeling the alcohol buzz, making him feel like a brave knight fighting a dragon to save a princess.
"Mr. Castillo, this kid can really hold his liquor," one of Royce's friends remarked. "He's had seven or eight now and barely seems phased."
"Really? Let's see how much he can handle," Royce said with a sly smile. The drinks he sent were strong, and while Kevin seemed okay now, it wouldn't last.
Sure enough, by the ninth drink, Kevin felt he couldn't take any more. His head was spinning, and his heart was racing. It was the first time he'd drunk so much, and his stomach felt awful. He tried to get up to go to the bathroom but collapsed.
Audrey rushed to help him, but Kevin was too heavy. The bar owner, seeing the situation, quickly had a server help Kevin to the restroom to throw up. After some honey water and sobering medicine, Kevin, being young and resilient, managed to get most of the alcohol out of his system. He recovered quickly, but his stomach still hurt.
Audrey watched with a mix of helplessness and concern, wiping the sweat from Kevin's forehead. She thought it might be good for him to learn a lesson and not be so reckless in the future.
Initially worried that Royce might keep bothering them, Audrey was relieved to see that the group had quietly left.
"Kevin, will you ever do that again?" Audrey sighed in relief as Kevin's color returned to normal. "You almost scared me to death."
"It's okay, Audrey. It's my birthday, and I'm fine." Kevin said, realizing he'd been a bit reckless. If he'd passed out, leaving Audrey alone would have been worse. He looked at the stage and complained, "Didn't they say there'd be a show? Why hasn't it started yet? This is a rip-off. I want a refund."
Just as he finished speaking, the lights in the hall went out, leaving only the spotlight on the stage. The room fell silent as a woman in an evening gown walked out and said, "Ladies and gentlemen, the show is about to begin. Please remain quiet, no photos or videos, and don't disturb the performers."
The hostess went on to introduce the performance and its traditions, talking at length. The audience grew impatient, starting to boo, as they had paid to see the show.
With the lights dimmed and the audience focused on the stage, Kevin, feeling bold, pulled Audrey closer. His hand slipped under her T-shirt, teasing her breasts through her bra. He moved his hand lower, past the edge of her jeans, and toyed with her, wishing she had worn a skirt instead.
