Chapter 1202
Meanwhile, in a cozy private room at a restaurant near the school, a bunch of teachers were having a good time chatting away. David, the head honcho of the faculty office, was sitting at the head of the table. On his left was Alissa, who had just come back, and on his right was Vanessa. Next to Vanessa was Audrey, and then a few other teachers. The only ones missing were Ethan and the recently booted Quentin.
David lifted his glass with a grin and said, "First off, let's give a warm welcome back to Alissa. She's been away for two months training and hasn't been home. It's been tough, and she's a real inspiration for all of us."
Everyone raised their glasses and took a sip, making the room buzz with excitement.
David poured himself another glass and continued, "Second, let's congratulate Alissa on becoming the deputy head of our office. She's young and talented, so we all need to step up our game."
Earlier that afternoon, Alissa had been at a school meeting where Oliver announced some staff changes, including Alissa's new role as deputy head. This spot was supposed to go to Quentin, but since he got the boot, Alissa, being the most senior and skilled teacher who had also done state-level training, got the promotion. It was a nice surprise.
Everyone raised their glasses again to celebrate. It was pretty clear that David was gearing up for retirement, and Alissa was likely to take over as head of the faculty office soon.
With a rosy glow on her cheeks, Alissa raised her glass and said, "As the new deputy head, I'm here to support everyone. Mr. Carter, you're highly respected, and we still need you around. I'll be here to help with anything you need."
David nodded, pleased. He'd always thought highly of Alissa, whom he had mentored. She was hardworking, honest, and well-liked by the students, much more so than Quentin. This time, Oliver had made a solid choice.
Other teachers chimed in with praise for David and Alissa, but Vanessa just smirked to herself, thinking, 'It's just a deputy head position, no big deal. I don't care about it. Sooner or later, I'll break out of this small circle and make everyone look up to me.'
Audrey, who had just found out about Alissa's promotion, was both surprised and happy. She thought Alissa totally deserved it. With Quentin gone and someone capable like Alissa in the office, work would be a breeze. Audrey didn't envy Alissa at all; she preferred teaching and hanging out with the students over dealing with administrative stuff.
Since most of the group were female teachers and David was getting on in years, they had a simple meal and then called it a night. As David walked to the door, he glanced at Vanessa, only to see her turn and leave without a word. He was momentarily taken aback but then smiled wryly. It seemed Vanessa thought he was no longer useful since he was about to retire. Vanessa was definitely practical to a fault.
Audrey held Alissa's hand as they strolled along, grinning. "Alissa, I never thought you'd end up as a leader. Guess I should start calling you Ms. Garcia now."
"Audrey, come on, don't tease me," Alissa said, shaking her head with a chuckle. "It's just a deputy head position. It sounds fancy, but it's not that big of a deal. Honestly, I'd rather be a homeroom teacher, but this is Oliver's call, so I gotta roll with it."
"Yeah, but this is an acknowledgment of your skills." Audrey said, feeling a bit emotional. "And honestly, having you as the deputy head is way better than someone like Quentin. I'm really happy for you."
"You're too sweet and not cut out for this kind of stuff. Just keep being an amazing teacher," Alissa said with a smile. "By the way, how are things with Kevin?"
"What do you mean?" Audrey blushed, looking shy.
"You know exactly what I mean. Don't play dumb," Alissa said, leaning in close to Audrey's ear. "How's the sex? Is it good?"
"It's okay," Audrey said, her face turning even redder as she nodded under Alissa's gaze.
"Just okay?" Alissa said, not satisfied. "Where did you do it the first time? How many times have you done it? Did you use protection? You don't have an IUD, so you need to be careful. Getting pregnant would be a hassle."
"Alissa, stop with the details," Audrey said, feeling overwhelmed. "I'm not a kid. I take pills afterward."
"Really? You let Kevin finish inside you?" Alissa frowned. "Taking pills all the time isn't good for your body. It can mess up your cycle. It's better if Kevin uses a condom."
"He says condoms are uncomfortable," Audrey said helplessly. "Sometimes he forgets. By the time he remembers, it's too late."
"That's not okay. I'll have a word with him. He can't just think about himself. If something goes wrong, it's your body that suffers," Alissa said sternly. "Don't spoil him too much. Using a condom is way better than taking pills afterward."
"Alissa, I get it," Audrey said softly, her face even redder. "We haven't done it that many times, especially since school started. I've been keeping him in check."
"Moderation is good," Alissa said with a smile. "I just worry you can't resist. When I first started with Kevin, I wanted to do it every day. He's really strong, and he almost wore me out. He finishes a lot, and I got sore several times. How about you? You must be more delicate than me. Can you handle it?"
"Alissa, it's not that intense," Audrey said, feeling embarrassed as Alissa's words got more explicit. She couldn't help but react, thinking about Kevin's hot, hard dick inside her.
"Alright, I see your skin is looking better," Alissa said, examining Audrey's face. "A woman needs a man to keep her glowing. Without sex, there's no life. Don't you agree?"
