Chapter 1199
Oliver was a pretty proud guy. Daisy's dad had this whole plan to get Oliver into a government job, work his way up to deputy mayor in some small town, and then keep climbing. With Daisy's dad's pull in Harmony County, Oliver could've easily become a big shot. But Oliver didn't want to ride on his wife's family's coattails, so he decided to start out as a high school teacher. Because of that, he missed out on some big chances and now he was just a high school principal. At his age, moving up the ladder seemed pretty unlikely.
The Davis family was a big deal in Harmony County. But in Daisy's generation, there were no sons, just Daisy. Since Oliver hadn't really made it big, they were pinning their hopes on Laura's generation. If Kevin showed some promise, they could start grooming him early and pour the Davis family's political resources into him, assuming Kevin and Laura ended up together.
But they were still young, and there was plenty of time to think about that when they went to college. Daisy cared more about Laura's happiness than the family's ambitions. She didn't want Laura's marriage to be all about strategy. She wanted Laura to find a guy who truly loved and cherished her.
Kevin was munching on strawberries and having a good chat with the elegant and beautiful Daisy. But he couldn't stop thinking about Alissa, who had just gotten back. He wondered if she was done with her meeting at school. Eager to see her, he got up, said goodbye to Daisy, left the fancy neighborhood, and shot Alissa a text. After a bit, Alissa replied, saying she was still stuck in a meeting at school, which Oliver was running, and she had no idea when it would end. She told Kevin not to worry.
It didn't look like Kevin would get to see Alissa today, which bummed him out. He thought about waiting for her at the school when his phone suddenly rang. It was Audrey. "Kevin, are you down the hill yet?"
"Yeah, I just got down. Audrey, are you home? I'm heading back now," he replied.
"I'm at the beauty salon. Wait for me at the entrance, and we'll go back together," Audrey said, giving him an address.
Kevin got to the beauty salon Audrey mentioned and sat on the steps, messing around on his phone. After a while, he heard footsteps and women's laughter behind him. He quickly stood up and turned around, and what he saw left him speechless.
Three tall, young women walked out of the salon, each one more stunning than the last. They were Audrey, Vanessa, and Kimberly.
Audrey was in the middle, the tallest and most beautiful, with the best figure. She had on simple jeans and a T-shirt that showed off her curves, her long legs, and her slender waist swaying gracefully. Her hair was tied back simply, with a few bangs in front, giving her a playful yet elegant look. Her delicate and soft features were incredibly attractive, making people lose their composure.
To the left was Vanessa, rocking a gray casual crop top and straight-leg pants, showing off a bit of her slender waist. She had on a white sun hat, her hair in a bun, and sunglasses, looking super chic and different from her usual sexy style. Only her lipstick hinted at her usual seductive charm.
To the right was Kimberly, who wore a beige knit sweater paired with a pencil skirt, her slender legs in nude stockings, hair cascading over her shoulders, with striking features that exuded a delicate and refined charm, giving off a fresh and elegant vibe.
The three female teachers were undeniably stunning, and Kevin was momentarily dazzled. Even passersby couldn't help but turn their heads to check out the trio. In a small town like Harmony County, seeing such beautiful women was rare, let alone three at once.
Kevin felt a sense of pride and accomplishment, knowing he had been close with all three of these gorgeous women. He considered himself incredibly lucky.
"Kevin, what are you staring at?" Vanessa laughed, noticing Kevin's mesmerized expression. "Haven't seen so many beauties before? Come on, tell us, who do you think is the prettiest?"
Kevin instinctively looked at Audrey, showing a troubled expression. Without a doubt, Audrey was the most beautiful. Her every smile and gesture exuded charm, her figure was graceful, and her eyes were incredibly seductive. Her cheeks were rosy and enchanting, her ethereal aura like a fairy, making people feel unworthy and afraid to desecrate her.
Of course, without Audrey, Vanessa and Kimberly would also be top-tier beauties. But compared to Audrey, they were inevitably overshadowed.
However, since all three female teachers had been close with Kevin, he couldn't favor one over the others. Even though he had an answer in his heart, saying it out loud would hurt the other two women.
Seeing Kevin's pleading look, Audrey smiled and said, "Alright, let's go. Vanessa, Kimberly, Kevin and I will head out first."
"Wait a minute," Vanessa said, her eyes twinkling with a smile. "It's rare for us to meet up. Let me treat you all to coffee. There's a new café nearby that makes excellent mocha. Let's go."
The café was called Afternoon Mood, decorated in a traditional style with large posters on the walls and country music playing, giving it a nostalgic feel.
A young waiter brought their coffee, visibly nervous and trembling as he looked at the three beautiful women. Vanessa quickly took the coffee and asked him how old he was and if he had a girlfriend, making the waiter blush and flee in embarrassment.
Vanessa took a sip of her coffee, showing a delighted expression. "The taste is really good. You should all try it. I dare say this is the best café in Harmony County."
Among the three women, Vanessa had the most refined tastes. She enjoyed drinking coffee, learning to bake, and reading literary books. Kimberly liked watching movies and had a large collection of original soundtracks at home; she often watched a movie on weekends. Audrey didn't have any special hobbies; she spent her free time reading, occasionally writing, and the rest of her time preparing lessons or writing papers.
Kimberly took a sip of her coffee, nodded, and said, "It's nice. I haven't been to a place like this since I started working. Work keeps me too busy to enjoy a cup of coffee."
"That's easy to fix. From now on, let's come here for coffee and a chat after our weekend beauty treatments," Vanessa said with a light laugh. "Neither of you has kids, and your husbands aren't home, so there's no harm in spending time outside. Even I can find time with a child, surely you can too. We need to learn to live for ourselves and not let marriage become our shackles."
