"There, there's a gecko." Kimberly's mouth trembled as she spoke, tears welling up in her eyes. She pointed to her chest, and Kevin lowered his head to see a small gecko on Kimberly's T-shirt, about the length of a finger. Kevin chuckled inwardly. He had caught plenty of these little bugs before—cicadas, spiders, centipedes—so a gecko was no big deal. He reached out to pinch the gecko's tail, but the gecko shook hard, and its tail suddenly broke off. Then, the gecko crawled swiftly up the neckline of the T-shirt.
