Chapter 624 Academic Pressure
Approaching the exams, the atmosphere at school is getting more tense. Following the request of the form teacher Alissa, the countdown to the exam is also written on the classroom blackboard, with the duty student responsible for updating it daily. Alissa's idea is to let the students experience the tension of the college entrance exam in advance.
However, most students fail to appreciate the efforts of the form teacher. To them, this is just an ordinary end-of-term exam, with the college entrance exam still two years away. Many of them don't even plan to take the college entrance exam.
The main focus for Alissa and the subject teachers is on the top ten students in each class. Alissa spends most of her energy ensuring that the grades of these ten students remain stable. The next twenty students after the top ten are also the focus of Alissa, as these students still have great potential to explore. As for the rest of the students, they are left to fend for themselves.
Kevin ranked eleventh in the last midterm exam in the class, getting close to the top ten. His English grades are outstanding, second only to August from Class 55, so he is also on Alissa's list of key students.
The second period in the morning is the English class. After finishing the lesson, Alissa said, "The final exams are coming soon, everyone must take it seriously. Last semester, our class had the highest average grade in the whole grade. Laura was the top student in the grade. Other classes will definitely try to surpass us this semester. Can we let them overtake us?"
"No!" echoed the students in the classroom.
"As long as you have confidence," Alissa nodded satisfactorily, taking out a piece of paper and saying, "I discussed with a few class monitors and decided to divide the whole class into ten study groups, each with a group leader, taken by the top students, responsible for helping group members with difficulties, so that everyone in our class can keep up."
Alissa then announced the list of ten group leaders, with Laura and nine other students with high academic performance serving as leaders. Kevin was assigned to Laura's study group.
After class, Kevin packed up his homework, preparing to hand it in to Alissa, but was stopped by Albert, who said with a smile, "Kevin, can we switch? Let me go to Laura's study group."
Kevin rolled his eyes and said, "This was decided by Mrs. Garcia. I can't make the decision. If you want, go talk to Mrs. Garcia. If she agrees, we can switch."
He was not optimistic about Albert pursuing Laura now. While he might have helped him before, Albert was vacillating between pursuing Laura and still holding a torch for Grace. Besides, he didn't have the capability to succeed even if given the chance, wasting his emotions. So Kevin didn't want to get involved.
Albert was taken aback and didn't dare to approach Alissa with his request. He might get scolded or even have to involve his parents. He could only give up.
Kevin went to Alissa's office with his homework. Seeing Alissa sitting on the sofa, legs crossed, reading a book, dressed in a white shirt and a black tight skirt today, her snow-white and plump thighs swaying alluringly, Kevin felt dry-mouthed and couldn't help but let his eyes wander over Alissa's body.
Alissa looked up and smiled slightly when she saw Kevin coming in. She moved slightly to the side and said softly, "Kevin, come sit next to me. I have something to tell you."
Kevin put his homework on the cabinet and sat next to Alissa. His thigh against Alissa's smooth and delicate leg felt very comfortable. Subconsciously, he rubbed his leg against her full and firm thigh a few times. Of course, this was a privilege only Kevin could enjoy. Other students wouldn't dare to sit down in front of Alissa, let alone take advantage of her.
Feeling Kevin's subtle movements, Alissa didn't reprimand him but smiled and gently said, "Kevin, do you know why I placed you in Laura's group?"
Actually, Kevin found it a bit strange in the classroom as well. Although Laura was the top student in the grade, his own academic performance was not bad, and he didn't need Laura's explanations. But since Alissa arranged it this way, he didn't ask much.
Seeing Kevin's puzzled expression, Alissa smiled slightly, placed her hand on Kevin's thigh, and said, "Kevin, next semester will be the sophomore year. The class monitors are generally re-elected once a year. I hope you will run for class monitor then. Laura is the academic committee member, and her father is the principal. So I hope you can use this opportunity to build a good relationship with her, which will be helpful for you when running for class monitor next semester."
"Let me run for class monitor?" Kevin was surprised but secretly delighted. It seemed that Alissa was not very satisfied with Ivan, the current class monitor. Hesitating, he said, "Sis, Ivan's father is the director of the Finance Bureau. Will he have any objections?"
"You don't need to worry about that. I have my own considerations," Alissa said. "I just want to ask if you have the confidence to be a good class monitor?"
"Yes," Kevin said without hesitation. In fact, he had long been displeased with Ivan. Since Alissa wanted to replace him, he had to cooperate. Moreover, being the class monitor would give him more excuses to be with Alissa and wouldn't raise suspicions from others.
