Chapter 569 Oh No, Got Noticed

Kevin's heart leaped with joy and he quickly agreed, carrying two heavy boxes of mineral water. He followed the woman into the bar, his eyes fixed on her perky bottom and fair, smooth thighs, feeling even hotter.

Once inside the bar, a female waitress at the front desk was dozing off lazily. The woman led Kevin through the corridor to a room at the very back, where she asked him to put down the mineral water. She smiled and said, "Alright, young man, thank you. Remember to look for me when you come here to sing in the future, I can give you a discount. My last name is Li."

Kevin's mind was still on Douglas, so he casually responded to her before leaving the room. He pretended to be lost in the corridor, slowly searching around. He spotted a room with its door half open and curiously peered inside.

Inside, a dim yellow light illuminated several high and low beds, with a large sofa on the side. Five or six young girls lay scattered around, all dressed in tank tops and shorts, showing off their bare white thighs. Their hair was dyed in various colors, leaving Kevin dazzled.

After a while, he snapped out of his daze, realizing that these girls were probably hostesses from the bar. He quietly left and explored a few more rooms. Suddenly, he heard voices coming from a nearby room. He tiptoed over, stood on his toes, and peeked through the glass above the door.

The room looked like an office, with a desk and a leather sofa. Sitting on the sofa was a man in his forties with a shaved head, a lean face, and wearing a black shirt. He seemed unremarkable but his presence was undeniable.

Beside him sat a voluptuous woman in a red mini skirt, exuding a cold and alluring aura. The slit in her skirt revealed two snow-white thighs wrapped in flesh-colored stockings, adding to her allure. She was none other than the bar's owner, Natalie.

Despite Natalie's queen-like demeanor in the bar, she now appeared meekly leaning against the bald man, allowing his large hand to caress her shapely, long thighs. A pleasing smile adorned her face.

On the opposite side of the sofa, Douglas stood straight, no longer displaying his previous arrogance. He looked respectfully at the man on the sofa, his eyes betraying a hint of nervousness and fear. After all, the man before him was Jasper, the top figure in the underworld.

"So, you've found Jerome's trail?" Jasper asked indifferently, his gaze coldly sweeping towards Douglas. "Why did you let him escape again? Useless!"

"Yes, boss," Douglas immediately broke into a sweat on his forehead and hurriedly replied, "I only found out a few days ago. We searched for Jerome for several days, but he was hiding in a school in the city. However, when I took people there, he had already left the school, probably tipped off and went into hiding."

Jerome was actually Ronald, who used to be the right-hand man of the Southern Gang, but disappeared after the merger with Jasper's Northern Gang. Jasper had been searching for Jerome's whereabouts, but to no avail. It was only when Douglas's car was vandalized a few days ago that he started to worry about potential retaliation, prompting him to gather information. Unexpectedly, he finally discovered Jerome's whereabouts, albeit a step too late, allowing Jerome to escape.

"Douglas, increase manpower and dig out this Jerome for me," Jasper squeezed Natalie's thigh firmly, his voice heavy. Jerome was cunning and a formidable threat to the Northern Gang. As long as he was alive, Jasper couldn't rest easy.

"Jasper, he's just an old troublemaker," Natalie winced as Jasper's grip on her thigh caused pain. She coquettishly remarked, "Why make such a fuss? I think it's more important to focus on running the business well."

"What do you know?" Jasper glared at Natalie, bluntly stating, "Jerome is a major threat to our Northern Gang. If he comes back, we're all dead. What's the use of making money then?"

Natalie, however, disagreed. She chuckled and said, "Jasper, it's not like ten years ago. You can't just think about violence all the time. Look at how no one claims to be part of the underworld now. They're all chairmen and CEOs. Lawrence used to be like you on the streets, but now he runs a construction company, a big boss. He's buddy-buddy with the county mayor. That's smart. No matter how many tough guys you have, can you fight the government?"

"What's the use of being tough? You'll still end up being someone's lackey," Natalie said with a smile. "We don't need to please that mad dog now. The key is to have a good relationship with the dog's owner."

"You make it sound easy," Jasper sneered. "These officials are slippery as eels. How could we get close to them? Do you see any of those officials daring to sleep with you?"

Natalie felt embarrassed. Last time, Jasper entertained Mark, and she was forced to accompany them, essentially to seduce Mark. However, Mark didn't even spare her a glance, seeing through her role as bait set by Jasper. This rejection deeply wounded Natalie's pride.

Although she always considered herself Jasper's woman, deep down she was a businesswoman who disliked the bloodshed lifestyle. She had been trying to persuade Jasper to go legit, to become a legitimate businessman. Otherwise, the future held either death at the hands of enemies or a prison sentence. However, Jasper remained stubborn, leading to constant friction between them.

Natalie knew she couldn't rely on Jasper forever and secretly wanted to secure an exit strategy for herself. Last time at the bar, in order to gather information about Fiona, she even helped a high school student masturbate. In her eyes, as long as she could leverage her relationship with the county leaders, she didn't care what price she had to pay.

Unfortunately, Fiona was a girl, and Natalie's usual seduction tactics were ineffective. Natalie wasn't foolish enough to directly approach Fiona's father for a deal, so she patiently continued to look for opportunities.

Seeing the tense atmosphere, Douglas quickly interjected, "Boss, I think Elder Sister-in-law has a point. It's good to seek shade under a big tree. As long as we have connections, why fear Mark causing trouble for us? He's just a dog, he bites whoever his master tells him to."

"Enough nonsense. I call the shots in the Northern Gang," Jasper coldly glanced at Douglas. "If you want to be in charge, wait until I'm dead."

The room's temperature plummeted, even Kevin outside, who was eavesdropping, couldn't help but shiver. He thought to himself that Jasper truly lived up to his reputation as an underworld boss, exuding an overpowering aura that could keep even someone like Douglas, a big thug, in check.
