Chapter 256 Irresistible Temptation
Kevin sighed, realizing that the day ahead would be difficult. Seeing something so desirable but unattainable was even more torturous. Normally, he wouldn't see Audrey, which was fine, but having her around every day, teasing him, was unbearable. He suddenly felt sympathy for the boys in her class. How did they manage to get through her lessons without being distracted by her body? Did they spend the entire class staring at her instead of focusing on what she was teaching?
No wonder the English grades in her class were never as good as those in Alissa's class. Having a teacher with such an impressive bust made it hard for anyone to concentrate. Kevin was grateful that Audrey wasn't his homeroom teacher; otherwise, his English grades might have been terrible too.
Kevin returned to the bedroom and sat at the computer desk, trying to focus on his study guide. Once he got into the study mode, he could be quite focused, quickly pushing away distracting thoughts. Right now, studying was the most important thing for him. His mother, Alissa, and Audrey had all emphasized the importance of his studies. Especially Alissa, who after their relationship began, had become even more strict, constantly making him stay for extra lessons, perhaps to assuage her guilt for seducing a student.
Kevin knew that if his grades were not satisfactory this semester, he would face the wrath of three women. The thought alone made him shudder. He had no choice but to move forward. He didn't expect to top the class, especially with a genius like Laura in his class. Beating her was almost impossible without cheating.
Thinking about Laura, Kevin felt a mix of admiration and frustration. Laura was a prominent figure at school, with her sweet looks, tall figure, and being the daughter of Oliver. She was very popular among the boys, receiving several love letters daily, but she turned them all down. She rarely interacted with boys, only having a few close female friends, and went straight home after school. Her disciplined lifestyle made many boys believe she wasn't that hard to pursue, but after Ivan Simmons' failed attempt, no one dared to try again.
Albert, who was relentless in his pursuit, was a rare exception. Sometimes, Kevin wanted to advise him to set his sights on someone more attainable, like Lucy, Laura's friend. Though not as pretty as Laura, Lucy had a pleasant appearance and a more voluptuous figure. Most importantly, Lucy seemed to like Albert and had helped him in his pursuit of Laura. Without Lucy's help, Albert wouldn't have gotten so much information about Laura or convinced her to attend his gatherings.
If Albert dated Lucy, it would be a good match. Lucy's mature and steady personality could help Albert settle down. But Albert was fixated on Laura, and with Ivan watching the drama unfold, Albert couldn't back down even if he wanted to. Kevin could only watch as Albert faced repeated rejections, hoping he would eventually give up.
Kevin studied for a while but got stuck on a problem. Seeing Audrey still busy in the kitchen, he felt awkward about asking her for help, so he turned on his computer to look up the information online. After quickly finding the information, he suddenly noticed the social media icon on the desktop. Intrigued, he clicked on it and saw Audrey's social media handle logged in. He made a mental note of it, then logged into his own social media account, and added her.
Just as Kevin was about to log off, he received a friend request. He was surprised because his social media account was rarely used, known only to a few people like Albert. He opened the request and read, "Hello Kevin , I'm Laura Jones."
Kevin was stunned. How did Laura know his account? Did Albert tell her? It seemed unlikely. Even if Albert was foolish, he wouldn't give Laura Kevin 's account. Besides, what could Laura want with him?
After thinking it over, Kevin decided not to invite trouble and declined the request. He logged off, shut down the computer, and returned to his books, though his mind kept wondering why Laura wanted to add him.
