Chapter 1800
"You care about me, huh? But don't worry, if he shows up, he's in for a world of hurt."
Natalie grinned. Ever since Jasper had broken into her place, she had beefed up her security. Reinforced windows and doors, cameras, and infrared alarms were all in place. No one was getting in without a fight. She even carried pepper spray and a small stun gun in her purse, just in case.
"That's good to hear," Kevin said. "But we still need to catch that guy. It's creepy knowing he's out there. You know a lot of people, Natalie. Maybe you can track him down."
"The cops can't even find him. What can I do? He's probably just a lone thief," Natalie replied. "Besides, I don't have time right now. I'm still looking for leads on Jerome."
Kevin remembered the deal with Jasper to help find Jerome. With the New Year coming up, Jasper might come knocking again. Worried, he said, "Natalie, what if we can't find Jerome? Will Jasper come after you?"
"Don't worry. He's too busy hiding from the cops to mess with me. If he wanted to kill me, he would've done it last time," Natalie said. "Worst case, I'll give him some cash to skip town for a few years."
"Alright then," Kevin said, feeling a bit helpless. "Natalie, I feel useless. I can't help you with anything."
"Don't say that. You've already helped me a lot," Natalie said with a light laugh. "Kevin, you know, that time at Fairy Lake when you stood in front of me, I swore I'd take care of you for life. Your job now is to study hard. When you graduate, I'll set up a business empire for you to take over. Be a smart man, not like Jasper, who only knows violence. There's no future in that."
"Natalie, I don't need you to take care of me. I'm a man; I can take care of myself," Kevin quickly said, not wanting to be seen as a kept man.
"Good, I like your spirit," Natalie laughed. "When do you have time? I miss you. If you don't come soon, my desires won't be satisfied."
Thinking of Natalie's mature, seductive body and her enchanting ways in bed, Kevin felt a surge of heat. Licking his dry lips, he said, "Natalie, I miss you too. I'll come to you now."
"Not now. I'm still in the city. I'll contact you when I get back," Natalie said. She was no longer content with doing business in Harmony County and was gradually expanding into Starfall Town. The city's situation was much more complex, and she had to take it step by step.
Kevin hung up the phone, feeling calmer. No matter what, Natalie would always be his strongest support.
He had once thought of becoming the most powerful underworld boss to protect his women, like a novel's protagonist. But now he realized that the idea was too extreme. Bethany, Alissa, and Audrey all wanted him to study hard. Even Natalie, who had once been involved in the underworld, said the same. He decided to be a good student and let the underworld go to hell.
That night, Kevin dreamed he had superpowers and became the underworld boss of Harmony County. He was feared by all, teaching Ivan, Jeremy, and Christopher a lesson and driving them out of Harmony County. He had Natalie buy Sunset Valley High School, kicked out Oliver, and became the principal. He spent his days having affairs with teachers Audrey, Alissa, Kimberly, and Vanessa, and even students Laura, Lucy, Fiona, and Yara, making Albert and the other boys green with envy.
When Kevin woke up, he found he had drooled a lot. Thinking about the dream, he felt a bit wistful. Being a principal, flirting with teachers and students, and not having to worry about anything sounded exciting.
Suddenly, the door opened, and Audrey walked in with a blank expression. "I'm going out to run some errands today. I won't be back for lunch. Do your homework."
"Audrey, where are you going?" Kevin jumped out of bed, his morning erection still prominent.
"Do I need to tell you where I'm going?" Audrey rolled her eyes but then said, "I'm going to Jason's hometown. His dad isn't well, and Caroline is going back too. I'm going with her."
"Really? Then I'll go with you," Kevin said quickly. "Audrey, there are a lot of criminals around lately. It's not safe for you two women. I need to protect you."
"Forget it. You'll just cause trouble," Audrey said. "I'm just visiting an old man and will be back tonight. You'd only make things more complicated. Just tidy up the house if you have nothing to do."
Seeing Audrey still a bit angry, Kevin hugged her waist and said, "Audrey, I was wrong last night. I shouldn't have said that. Please forgive me."
"You need to change that bad habit of yours," Audrey sighed. She wasn't really angry. Kevin was just looking out for her. Oliver had indeed had bad intentions towards her, but now his health was failing, and he couldn't do anything. She couldn't explain this to Kevin, so she sighed and said, "There are things you don't understand. You'll get it someday."
"I understand," Kevin said, holding Audrey's warm body, licking her cheek, and playing with her breasts. His erection pressed against her, enjoying her mature, voluptuous body.
"Stop it," Audrey said, feeling a strong sensation from her lower body. She quickly pulled away, panting, "It's too early for this. I have to go meet Caroline. Make yourself some food." She hurried out.
After Audrey left, Kevin checked the fridge but found nothing to eat. He remembered a good restaurant at the market and decided to go there. The place was busy, with the staff running around.
Kevin ordered a big bowl of nutritious soup and a pizza. The pizza was fresh out of the oven, steaming hot. He took a bite of the pizza and a sip of the soup, feeling very satisfied.
The other diners were locals, chatting as they ate. A middle-aged man said, "Did you hear? The county is planning a big lantern festival after the New Year at the stadium. They're even going to have fireworks. It's going to cost millions of dollars."
"That's a lot of money. The new County Executive is making changes. They're doing poverty alleviation and upgrading administrative levels. Soon, we won't be Harmony County anymore; we'll be a city."
"Of course. He was sent from the city and has strong backing. Look at Westbrook Village. It used to be so poor, but now they're building houses and resorts everywhere. The locals are getting rich, better than us working folks."
"When will they raise our salaries? It's hard to live on a few thousand dollars a month with prices so high. I went to buy New Year's goods yesterday, and a fish cost dozens of dollars. How can we afford that?"
"Exactly. Business people make the real money," the middle-aged man said. "Take Celestial Haven, for example. The owner used to be the manager of Imperial Bar, Natalie. She used to follow Jasper, but now she's a millionaire, driving luxury cars every day. That's impressive."
"Natalie is impressive. I ate at Celestial Haven once. The environment is great, the staff is young and pretty, and the service is excellent. But it's expensive. A meal there costs half my monthly salary," a man with glasses said, sounding both complaining and bragging.
"I heard Natalie is still single. If you can win her over, you could eat at the hotel for free every day," someone joked.
"I don't have that kind of luck. She's a billionaire. Why would she be interested in me?" the glasses man said, knowing his limits. "I think only Lawrence, the richest man in Harmony County, is a match for her."
"Not necessarily. Natalie is so rich now; she might want a pretty boy," the middle-aged man said. "Whoever catches her eye won't have to worry for the rest of their life."
Kevin sat in the corner, eating his pizza and listening to them fantasize about Natalie, feeling very smug. Who would have thought that the famous seductress of Harmony County was conquered by a high school student?
Natalie was now a well-known figure in the county. Her split from Jasper had been crucial. Otherwise, she might have been implicated and ended up in jail, missing out on her current success. Hard work was important, but choices mattered more.
Just then, Kevin's phone buzzed. He took it out and saw a message from Daisy.
"Cloudwater Haven, Building A, Unit 2, Apartment 603."
