Chapter 980: Perils Abound
As Kevin approached the corner of the hallway leading to Natalie's office, he heard a woman's raucous laughter mingling with a man’s voice. Muttering to himself about how flirtatious the laughter sounded, he rounded the corner and saw Natalie chatting with Douglas at the office door.
Although Kevin knew Natalie was a woman of the night and had likely slept with countless men, the intimate physical relationship they had developed recently made him feel a pang of jealousy. Seeing her being so familiar with another man filled him with a sense of betrayal.
Suddenly, Natalie sensed Kevin's presence and turned to see him standing at the end of the hallway, his face clouded with anger. She quickly swatted away Douglas’s hand from her hip, replaced her expression with a smile of contrived sweetness, and waved, saying, "Kevin, what brings you here?"
Kevin, utterly disillusioned with Natalie, didn’t want to acknowledge her. He huffed, turned on his heel, and walked away, leaving the bar without even returning to the private room. As he strode towards his home, his mind replayed the scene of Natalie flirting with Douglas.
Lately, Natalie had gone out of her way to win Kevin over, sharing many of her secrets with him and presenting herself as a caring older sister. This made him believe that she had become attached to him, even thinking she was captivated by his prowess. He felt a sense of smugness, thinking he had outsmarted Jasper.
Perhaps Natalie’s ability to deceive and please men was why the bar was so popular, drawing at least half its male clientele with her seductive reputation. Given her constant interaction with various men, it was naive of Kevin to think she could remain chaste and pure. He chastised himself for idealizing her.
After all, he was just a high school student who got luckier than others, ending up with many women. He wasn’t genuinely exceptional. Reflecting on his recent actions, he felt foolish. Natalie had only used him, seeing him as a pawn due to his connection with Maurice. Given Natalie's position in their shady world, she would never have favored a mere kid like him without an ulterior motive.
Kevin shook his head vigorously, attempting to dispel Natalie from his thoughts. She was, after all, a flirtatious woman. He had not truly lost anything—he gained valuable information and shared a week of passion with her. It was better to end things now.
"Beep beep..." A car horn suddenly blared behind him. As he turned, he saw Natalie following in her red BMW. Angered, Kevin quickened his pace, determined not to fall for her manipulations again.
Natalie pulled the car in front of him, blocking his path. Leaning out, she smiled sweetly and said, "Hey, what's wrong today? Yesterday you were fine. Come on, let me drive you home."
"President, there's no need. I can walk myself, thank you. You should go back." Kevin replied coldly, walking around the car. The more Natalie showered him with attention, the more suspicious he felt.
"Why are you so stubborn?" Natalie quickly got out of the car, her high heels clicking as she caught up with Kevin. Grabbing his arm, she raised an eyebrow and asked irritably, "Kevin, tell me what’s wrong. Did I offend you?"
"No, President, it’s not about you. It’s my own issue." Kevin mumbled, avoiding her gaze. After all, their relationship was merely an affair. He had no right to accuse her of being with other men, and he was hardly faultless, being entangled with multiple women himself.
"Are you jealous?" Natalie's eyes twinkled mischievously as she laughed softly. Stroking his face with her creamy-white hand, she sighed, "Douglas is Jasper’s spy. He reports my every move to Jasper. If I don't appease him, he might discover our affair. Jasper wouldn’t dare harm me, but he might take his anger out on you. I can’t just stand by and let that happen."
At the mention of Jasper, Kevin shuddered. He had always tried to ignore Jasper’s presence, but if what Natalie said was true, discovering their affair would spell disaster for him. He might even endanger his mother, filling him with regret and fear. He never should have risked everything for a moment of pleasure with Natalie.
But it was too late for regret now. Kevin's mind raced with self-recrimination, dread, and confusion. He pondered countless scenarios but couldn’t find a way to diffuse the looming crisis.
"Now you’re scared?" Natalie giggled, reaching into Kevin's shorts and fondling him. "You were pretty bold when you were using this thing, weren’t you? Relax, I was kidding. Douglas knows nothing. Even if he did, he wouldn’t dare snitch. I have dirt on him. He’s been living off me for years, enjoying my hospitality, even the money he uses to entertain women comes from me. He might bite others, but never me. You can rest easy."
Natalie’s fingers worked their magic, and soon Kevin felt an exhilarating arousal. Even though thoughts of Jasper still scared him, Natalie’s skilled touch started to soothe his worries. He tentatively asked, "What if Jasper really finds out?"
"It won’t matter. We each have our own lives now, nothing ties us down. His priority is the Northern gang. He won’t care about trivial affairs."
Natalie’s laughter rang out like silver bells as her hand continued to expertly tease Kevin. Lost in the sensation, Kevin's earlier resentment melted away, replaced by pleasurable delirium. He thought to himself that dying in the embrace of such an alluring woman might be worth it, fully enjoying the touch of Natalie, the renowned "Golden Snake Hand Technique."
