"Alright, folks, today's our last class of the semester, so let's have a little meeting," Audrey said with a warm smile. "The final exam results are in, and most of you did well. Some of you have shown a lot of improvement, like Albert, Paul, and Tony. I want to give a shout-out to these three and encourage everyone to keep up the good work."
In truth, their rankings hadn't shifted much, but their scores had gone up a bit. Audrey believed it was important to encourage them. Any progress from students who usually struggled was a win, showing they had listened to her advice and hadn't given up on themselves.
Albert, Paul, and Tony looked stunned. They had always been at the bottom of the class, and their previous teacher, Alissa, had mostly ignored them, focusing only on the top students. This had led them to give up and not take their studies seriously.
But since Audrey took over, she had repeatedly talked to them, encouraging them to study hard. Now, she was praising them in front of the whole class, which was a first for them.

"Alright, alright, cut it out. We can go out another day. I've got plans tonight," Kevin said, thinking about his evening with Daisy.
Upstairs, in the senior class, the first place was unsurprisingly Fiona, with a nearly fifty-point lead over the second place, including a perfect score in math.
Abel had taken fifth place, which was impressive. Yasmine, with Abel's careful tutoring, had also improved, moving up five places since the midterms. Although she was still near the bottom of the class, she saw a glimmer of hope that she might get into college on her own.
She looked at Abel with gratitude. Initially, she had approached him because he was straightforward and different from the guys who only wanted her body. Plus, he could help her with her studies. Audrey returned to her office, filled out some forms, and went to Alissa's office. Alissa said, "I think we should thank Mr. Jones for helping us. We should go show our appreciation."
Audrey hesitated but nodded. "I'll go with you, Alissa." She didn't want to go alone to see Oliver.
"This isn't something you do in a group. It's too conspicuous," Alissa said with a laugh. "Just buy some fruit and go to his house or office in the evening. Say a few words of thanks. It's just a formality."
"Is fruit enough?" Audrey asked, unsure. She had never given a gift to a superior before. "Should I buy some cigarettes or alcohol?"
"He's the principal. He doesn't need those things," Alissa said with a smile. "You're overthinking it. Your presence is more valuable than any gift. Audrey, I know you don't like playing office politics, but in any workplace, you need to get along with the leadership. I'm older and don't have many ambitions, but you're young, well-educated, and capable. Mr. Jones values young female teachers. You should seize this opportunity. You might become the first female principal of Harmony County. Then I'll need your support."
Hearing Alissa's vision of a bright future, Audrey's heart raced. She had some pride but also ambition. She wanted a comfortable life without having to use her body like Vanessa.
