Chapter 1682
It was a laid-back Saturday evening, the sun setting in the west. Audrey and Abel were chatting casually. Although she had taught several classes, she had never had such a conversation with any other boy besides Kevin.
Abel's personality was completely different from Kevin's. Despite being from a single-parent family, Kevin grew up in a small town, making him more outgoing, bold, and impulsive. That's how he ended up in a relationship with Alissa, and even Audrey herself got involved.
Abel, on the other hand, was very introverted and quiet. He only spoke more when he was with familiar people or discussing topics he was interested in. He was very considerate and sometimes so mature that it made Audrey feel sorry for him. Not that Audrey had any special feelings for Abel—her heart was solely for Kevin, even excluding her husband Jason, let alone Abel.
From any perspective, Abel could never replace Kevin. The two were incomparable. Audrey's concern and care for Abel stemmed purely from her sense of responsibility as a teacher, just as she did for other students in her class.
If Audrey's feelings for Kevin were a mix of romance and affection, her feelings for Abel were more like sympathy, similar to how one might feel compelled to feed a stray dog out of compassion, without any romantic involvement.
Moreover, Abel was different from other boys like Albert, Ivan, Felix, Sean, Paul, and even Kevin. Their gazes were often filled with lust, but Abel's eyes were pure, showing only respect and admiration for his teacher. Audrey appreciated this look; it made her feel comfortable and at ease around Abel, without worrying about any inappropriate thoughts.
They went to a nearby restaurant and ordered two bowls of noodles, one large and one small. Audrey even gave Abel the meat from her bowl, saying she didn't like meat.
Abel was sweating as he ate, and Audrey quickly handed him a napkin to wipe his sweat. She thought to herself that Abel and Kevin were quite similar when it came to eating—they both devoured their food as if they were afraid they wouldn't get enough. But boys their age were growing, had heavy study loads, and naturally had big appetites.
The restaurant was hot, so Audrey took off her coat, revealing her large, round breasts under her sweater. Instantly, the men in the restaurant turned their gazes to her chest, staring intently at her ample bosom.
At a nearby table, four or five men were drinking, all quite drunk and talking loudly, making it hard to bear. Audrey frowned slightly, but such small restaurants often attracted all kinds of people.
Suddenly, a bearded man noticed Audrey and his eyes lit up as he stared at her chest. He got up, swaying slightly, and approached Audrey with a grin, holding a glass of wine. "Hey there, beautiful. What's your name? Let's have a drink together."
Audrey glanced at him coldly and said, "Sorry, I don't know you."
"Come on, once we have a drink, we'll know each other," the bearded man said, his breath reeking of alcohol as he leaned closer to Audrey's face. He leered at her smooth, jade-like skin and said, "Give me a chance."
The men at his table started to egg him on, whistling and making it clear they were trouble. Audrey quickly stood up and said, "Abel, let's go."
But the bearded man suddenly grabbed Audrey's arm and touched her face, grinning. "So soft. Come on, let me give you a kiss." He leaned in with his foul-smelling mouth.
"Ah!" Audrey screamed, her face pale with fear. She hadn't expected him to harass her in public. Abel quickly stepped in front of her, angrily saying, "What are you doing? If you don't stop, I'll call the police."
The bearded man laughed fearlessly. "Go ahead, call the police. My brother-in-law works at the police station. I'm not afraid." He pushed Abel aside and dragged Audrey towards the restaurant's exit. Audrey shouted for help, but the other diners were too scared to intervene.
The bearded man led Audrey to a nearby alley. She looked at the men surrounding her, her face pale and trembling. "Stay back, or I'll call the police," she said.
"Don't be scared, beautiful. We won't hurt you. Just have some fun with us, and we'll let you go," the bearded man said, eyeing her up and down. Audrey was indeed beautiful, with a great figure. Her large breasts alone were enough to drive him wild.
"No, I'm married," Audrey pleaded, shaking her head. "Please let me go. I promise I won't call the police."
"Let you go? Do you think that's possible?" the bearded man sneered. He couldn't believe his luck—finding such a stunning woman in a small town. Audrey's looks and figure were top-notch, comparable to women in big cities who charged thousands of dollars for their company.
"What do you want?" Audrey still didn't grasp the gravity of the situation. "Aren't you afraid I'll call the police? You should leave now while you can. Otherwise, I really will call the police. Harmony County is cracking down on crime."
The men laughed, finding her naivety amusing. The crackdown only targeted low-level criminals. Those with real power and connections were untouchable.
Audrey shivered as the men leered at her chest. She silently prayed, "Kevin, where are you? Please come and save me!"
