Chapter 1467
Cynthia had been in a foul mood lately. Her business had once flowed effortlessly, leveraging her husband's connections and her own acumen to pull in seven to eight thousand dollars a month, occasionally even reaching twenty to thirty thousand. While not rich by metropolitan standards, in the small town of Harmony County, she was considered well-off.
But recently, several of her loyal clients had stopped buying from her. After some digging, Cynthia discovered that someone was deliberately undercutting her prices to steal her customers. She initially hoped her husband could intervene, but it turned out the rival had stronger connections, even involving the police chief. Her husband, an official with limited power, had no choice but to swallow his pride and watch as the business channels she had painstakingly built over the years were taken away.
Her business took a significant hit, and to make matters worse, her son Sean was adding to her stress. Sean's grades had been decent, but ever since his favorite teacher, Audrey, was transferred to Class 57 as the homeroom teacher, his performance had plummeted, and he'd even lost his class standing.
This was a bitter pill for the proud Cynthia to swallow. Sean had always been her pride and joy; obedient and clever, but his focus on studies had waned. She had spent a small fortune on numerous tutoring classes and even hired school teachers for private lessons at home, all to no avail. Just as she found a good teacher in Audrey, the teacher got transferred.
Cynthia had reached out to Audrey several times, hoping to transfer Sean to Class 57, but Audrey politely declined. Being the homeroom teacher of a key class, if Audrey agreed to transfer one student, many others would seek the same, causing unnecessary trouble.
That morning, Cynthia called Sean to get up. Seeing his lazy attitude, she couldn't help but slap him heavily. But immediately after, regretting it, she hugged him comfortingly. Sean was her lifeline, and she would do anything for him.
In that moment, she spotted Kevin and a light bulb went off. Kevin had a good rapport with Audrey. Kids were always easier to sway. If she could get him to talk to Audrey privately, it might be more effective.
Kevin walked over and greeted Cynthia. Up close, she was even more tantalizing, her large breasts, curvy hips, and slim waist making her figure irresistible. Her cherry lips and delicate brows gave her an enchanting look, almost as alluring as Vanessa.
Cynthia mastered the art of makeup as a cosmetic seller. Though her face was heavily made up, it never looked garish. Her thin eyebrows were expertly drawn with an eyebrow pencil, her lashes were thickened with mascara, and her purple eyeshadow added a touch of allure. The peach-colored lipstick made her look even more enticing. Cynthia spent over an hour each day on her makeup, treating her face as an essential part of her job, and thus, she was far more meticulous than the average woman.
"Kevin, does Audrey have any free time tonight? Could you help me invite her out for dinner?" Cynthia asked after some small talk.
"Dinner? What's up?" Kevin, who had been eyeing Cynthia’s ample cleavage, suddenly grew cautious. He knew businesswomen like her had a bag full of tricks.
"It's nothing major. Sean used to be quite close to Audrey when she taught him. Now that she's the homeroom teacher of Class 57," Cynthia said with a light laugh, "I was hoping he could transfer and continue under her teaching."
Kevin smirked inwardly. He didn't expect Sean to still be hung up on Audrey. If Sean wanted to transfer to Class 57, he'd have to deal with Kevin first.
"Cynthia, that's not really appropriate," Kevin replied coolly. "Audrey's strict about not accepting bribes from parents. Besides, there are some troublemakers in our class. Sean might get picked on if he transfers. I've got to get to class now." He turned to leave.
"Kevin, please, do me this favor," Cynthia said urgently, grabbing his hand. "I won't ask for nothing. Just name your price, and I'll agree to anything."
Kevin paused. This was reminiscent of when Willow had asked for help and ended up sleeping with him. It showed the lengths mothers would go for their sons.
He instinctively looked at Cynthia, imagining her voluptuous body under that tight skirt. A rush of heat surged through him. If he could sleep with Cynthia, it would drive Sean crazy.
No, absolutely not, Kevin warned himself. Cynthia might be tempting, but she wasn't worth the trouble like Vanessa or Natalie. He disliked Sean, but using his mother for something so petty was too low. Besides, Cynthia needed Audrey's help. An affair would only complicate things for Audrey.
After sleeping with Willow, Kevin had some regrets. Although Ivan's actions were extreme, using similar methods for revenge made Kevin no better than Ivan.
He always claimed to love only Audrey, yet he kept getting involved with other women. The first time he visited Audrey’s house, he slept with Caroline. On a trip to Westbrook Village, he ended up with Hazel. During a city visit with Audrey, he slept with Elizabeth. And on a trip to Oceancrest City, he was with Brynn.
In Skyview City this time, Kevin went even further, having sex with Mica, Maddy, and Jillie. While staying at Angus's place, he nearly hooked up with the maid Ally if Naomi hadn’t walked in. He never once considered Audrey's feelings, which painted him as a despicable jerk.
Therefore, Kevin made a silent promise to himself to stop messing around with other women. Apart from Audrey, he’d only be with Alissa, Grace, Daisy, and Natalie. He aimed to distance himself from any entanglements with others to stay true to Audrey's love.
“Cynthia, I don’t need anything. I really can’t assist you with this,” Kevin said, gazing at Cynthia’s trembling cleavage and swallowing hard. No matter how enticing Cynthia was, she didn’t hold a candle to Audrey. He didn’t want to stir up trouble.
Watching Kevin walk away, Cynthia felt powerless. Dealing with difficult clients in business was manageable with some smooth talking, but handling a high school student was a different game.
However, with Sean's grades plummeting, Cynthia was anxious and resolute. She had to find a way to convince Kevin to help.
After a lengthy questioning session with Albert, Carl, and Samuel, Kevin managed to shake them off. He thought Cynthia’s charm was pretty potent. Good thing it was him; if it were Albert, they would have been easy prey.
The morning was uneventful, apart from a small classroom incident. A boy sneakily brought his pet hamster in, and it accidentally escaped, causing the girls to scream in terror. Chaos erupted in the class, even the boys were spooked, with Carl hilariously jumping onto a chair, trying to shield himself with his large frame.
Eventually, Kevin caught the mischievous hamster. Surprisingly, Kimberly remained calm. She scolded the boy gently and carried on with her lesson.
Kevin noticed a hint of sadness in Kimberly’s demeanor, less lively than usual. Her slender, appealing figure seemed a tad frail, stirring an urge to embrace her and provide comfort. Kimberly always evoked a protective instinct in him.
Unfortunately, their relationship was drifting apart, with no chance of getting closer.
At noon, everyone headed home for lunch. Audrey and Alissa stayed back to work on some materials. Kevin was not keen on going to the student cafeteria; the thought of the missed hot dog lingered in his mind from the morning. He decided to grab one at the school gate and then take a nap in Alissa's office.
However, since Audrey caught him caught in bed with Alissa, she refused to entertain the idea of being with him. Not being able to hold Alissa's voluptuous body left a void within him.
When would the final exams be over? He couldn't wait to fulfill Audrey's request so he could be with both Audrey and Alissa without any reservations. He pictured replacing the office bed with a bigger one, with Alissa on one side and Audrey on the other, enveloped by their ample bosoms. Even the principal wouldn't lead as cushy a life as Kevin envisioned.
As Kevin strolled out of the school gate heading to the convenience store, a familiar voice called out, "Kevin!"
Cynthia hurried over, her curves swaying seductively. Her voice was so captivating it made Kevin weak at the knees. The students around the gate couldn't help but stare at Cynthia, murmuring about her enticing figure.
"Kevin, are you here to pick up Sean?" Cynthia asked as Kevin's gaze involuntarily fell on her ample bosom, wondering about their feel.
"Sean doesn’t come home for lunch. I’m actually waiting for you," Cynthia said, her eyes gleaming and dimples appearing on her face. "By the way, where's Ms. Johnson? Aren't you usually together?"
"Oh, Audrey is pulling a late one at school today," Kevin replied, feeling a bit uneasy. It seemed that Cynthia had been digging into his and Audrey’s routines. He hoped she hadn't found out anything.
"What a shame. I was planning to ask Audrey to grab dinner," Cynthia said, looking slightly disappointed. "Kevin, are you hungry? Let me buy you lunch."
"No need to go through the trouble. I'll just grab a hot dog from the store," Kevin quickly declined, wanting to steer clear of any involvement with Cynthia.
"Nah, that won't do. You're still growing and need some real food," Cynthia insisted with a grin. "If you don’t go with me, I'll wait here for Audrey to wrap up her work."
"Fine, let's do it then," Kevin reluctantly agreed, noticing the curious eyes of the students on them.
