Chapter 1435
In the southern part of Cedar Street in Harmony County, there was an alley that used to be a shantytown. Over the years, the residents gradually moved out as the government planned to demolish the area and build new structures. However, demolition halted midway due to some residents' refusal to leave, leaving a large vacant lot. This space was soon occupied by vendors selling late-night snacks, and it became quite popular. By 7 PM, the place was bustling with lights, calls of vendors, and a steady stream of customers, even livelier than a regular market.
Kevin initially wanted to go out for a late-night snack with Laura, but Albert insisted on bringing Lucy along. The four of them entered the alley, finding it lined with vendors selling all sorts of late-night delicacies—barbecue, squid, and lamb kebabs. There were also stalls selling phone cases and keychains, which dazzled them.
The group found a barbecue stall and ordered a substantial amount of food. Since there was a wait due to the crowd, Laura and Lucy went to browse the jewelry stalls nearby. While waiting for their barbecue, Kevin felt Albert tug on his arm and nod towards something, "Look over there."
Kevin turned to see a squid stall, managed by a young woman in a long trench coat, which she wore open to reveal a black camisole that accentuated her cleavage. She expertly flipped marinated squid on a sizzling griddle, the aroma filling the air. Her figure, especially her bouncing chest, drew all eyes, making her stall incredibly popular with a packed crowd jostling for a spot.
"Gosh, she's so hot" Albert said excitedly, his eyes glued to the scene. "Come on, let's buy some squid. I think Lucy likes it."
Kevin chuckled inwardly, knowing Albert was more interested in the woman’s cleavage than the squid. Nonetheless, he was bored and, once the barbecue was ready, followed Albert to queue for the squid.
After waiting for ten minutes, they finally reached the front of the stall. Up close, the woman’s chest was probably just a C cup, but in this particular environment, it seemed quite thrilling. It was similar to the food; it wasn’t necessarily the best, but the atmosphere made it enjoyable.
Albert was captivated by the woman’s cleavage when someone behind them started pushing. Annoyed, he turned and snapped, "Why are you shoving me?"
The person hesitated and then blurted out, "Only one left."
The surrounding crowd burst into laughter, and even the woman behind the stall laughed heartily, causing her ample chest to jiggle enticingly.
Seeing the long line behind them, Albert suddenly pulled out a wad of cash from his pocket and tossed it into the payment box on the stall, declaring, "Take the rest of the squid out, please."
"Sure, sir. It might take a while, so please wait a bit," the woman remarked with a bright smile, deliberately pulling her trench coat open wider, seemingly to show off to Albert. She chatted with Albert while grilling the squid, her tone very flirtatious, making Albert very happy. He promised to come back often to support her business.
Kevin also felt a bit restless, cursing himself for being so easily tempted. He saw Audrey's G cup breasts every day, yet he was attracted to a C cup. The key was that he could only look, not touch, which made him burn with desire.
"Sir, the squid is ready. Be careful, it's hot." the woman said, clearly understanding marketing psychology. Her attitude was excellent, making Albert so happy he almost wanted to give her his heart.
Albert held a large bunch of grilled squid in both hands, looking back every few steps. He saw the woman packing up the stall, and a dark-skinned man silently stepped forward to push the tricycle away. The woman followed behind, chatting and laughing with the man, clearly her husband, making Albert feel very frustrated and deceived.
When Kevin and returned to their spot, Laura and Lucy were already back and were astonished at the amount of squid Albert was holding. Lucy frowned and said, "Albert, have you lost your mind? How are the four of us supposed to eat all that squid?"
Albert smiled sheepishly and said, "I thought you loved grilled squid, so I bought a little extra just to be sure."
"A little extra? Gee." Lucy snapped. "I don't even want any squid tonight. You eat it all yourself."
Seeing Albert’s disappointment, Kevin took five skewers and handed them to Laura, keeping ten for himself. However, there were still dozens left. Albert had indeed bought far too much, so they had to share the excess with the surrounding patrons.
The four of them enjoyed their barbecue and grilled squid while chatting and relishing the rare leisure time together. Suddenly, Laura leaned over and whispered in Kevin’s ear, "What took you so long? Where did you go?"
"Nowhere special, just buying you some squid," Kevin replied nonchalantly. "There were a lot of people, so we had to wait."
"Albert, you were ogling that indecent woman, weren't you?" Laura scoffed softly. "In this cold weather, baring her chest like that—so shameless."
Kevin didn't expect Laura to have noticed. He chuckled and said, "It was Albert who dragged me there. He said their grilled squid was the best. Besides, she wasn't that impressive. You're far more appealing to look at."
"Oh, stop it. What's so special about me?" Laura blushed, though she felt a twinge of insecurity. Her chest was indeed smaller compared to that woman’s, and even Lucy’s. She wished she were a bit more endowed; surely Kevin found her lacking.
Noticing Laura's discomfort, Kevin quickly took her delicate hand and whispered in her ear, "Laura, if I cared about that, why wouldn't I have chosen Lucy as my girlfriend? Everyone develops differently, and you'll grow too."
"Really?" Laura’s eyes filled with hope as she looked up at Kevin. "Do you really think my boobs will grow bigger?"
"Of course you will," Kevin said confidently. After all, Daisy had a generous bust, and Laura was likely to inherit some of that too. Even if not a D cup, she'd surely reach a C. Besides, if he could help Audrey's sizeable chest develop further, he could certainly assist Laura in gaining a cup or two.
"It's so hot," Lucy complained as she ate a spicy potato skewer. She quickly unzipped her school jacket, revealing the thin sweater underneath. Her ample chest strained against the fabric, emphasizing its elasticity and fullness.
Albert and Kevin couldn’t help but stare, making Lucy uncomfortable. She quickly zipped up her jacket and scolded, "Can you guys be a bit more gentlemanly? It's rude to stare at a girl like that."
Kevin felt embarrassed and looked down, busying himself with a piece of squid. Albert was Lucy’s boyfriend, so it wasn't a big deal for him to look, but Kevin knew it was disrespectful with Laura right beside him.
Laura, however, didn't seem to mind. Instead, she gently wiped the oil off Kevin's mouth with a napkin. Her sweet and caring gesture made Albert envious. He turned to Lucy with a pout, but Lucy just rolled her eyes and said, "What’s your problem? If you could win some honors like Kevin, I’d do more than wipe your mouth, I’d even wipe your butt."
Kevin and Laura burst into laughter, while Albert felt even more dejected. If he had that kind of talent, he would’ve gone after Fiona, not settled for Lucy.
Suddenly, a car horn blared nearby. Kevin turned to see a white Range Rover pulling onto the sidewalk. The license plate sported a series of 8s, clearly a wealthy person from Harmony County.
The other diners were curious, watching the white Range Rover. Although the vehicle was expensive, it wasn’t out of reach for some in Harmony County. However, the license plate was rare and highly sought after. Some speculated it could be Lawrence, the richest man in Harmony County, but Lawrence was known to drive a black Bentley with a plate full of 6s.
With everyone's eyes on the vehicle, the door finally opened, revealing a stunningly beautiful woman. She stepped out gracefully, wearing a black bodycon dress highlighting her curves. Her long legs were encased in nude stockings, and she wore black stilettos. Her figure was alluring, her ample chest prominently showcased, exuding the charm of a mature woman. Her mesmerizing eyes held a hint of danger, making it hard for anyone to meet her gaze.
"Isn’t that Natalie, the former manager of Imperial Bar?" Someone among the diners recognized her, sounding surprised. "I heard she was backed by Jasper, but he's now wanted by the police. How is she still so bold?"
"Shh...are you crazy? She’s a well-known businesswoman now. She was even featured in Harmony County news, and the County Executive shook hands with her." Someone with more information quickly reminded.
"What’s so great about shaking hands with the County Executive? It’s not like she had an affair with him," The man retorted, though his voice was noticeably quieter, clearly not wanting to attract trouble.
Natalie, unaware of the murmurs around her, scanned the nearby stalls, seemingly looking for something. A hint of disappointment crossed her face.
"Natalie," Kevin quickly rose and approached her with a cheerful smile. "What brings you here?"
"Kevin, there you are," Natalie responded with a sultry smile, raising an eyebrow and gazing at Kevin with a fond look. "There’s a stall that sells great grilled squid. I often drive here just for it. Did I miss it today, or am I too late?"
