"I was just passing by and heard this is the swankiest neighborhood in Harmony County, so I thought I'd check it out," Kevin began his fib. "But the security wouldn't let me in."
"Perfect timing. I'll show you around," Patty said with a smile. "You can even see my place."
"I can't wait," Kevin accepted her invitation without hesitation. He had some rather wicked thoughts about Albert's young and attractive aunt and wasn't about to miss this chance to get close to her.
They walked into the neighborhood side by side. Patty was a bit taller than Evelyn but not as tall as Audrey. She glanced up at the tall Kevin and chuckled, "Kevin, have you grown taller again? Why doesn't Albert grow like you? You two don't even look like you're in the same grade."
"I grew early, he's just a late bloomer. He'll catch up," Kevin laughed.
In fact, his height wasn't exceptionally noteworthy. Plenty of students at school were tall, like Ivan, August, and Samuel. Only a few of the boarding students from rural areas were relatively shorter. Albert, who grew up with good family conditions, should have developed well. His short stature might've been influenced by Evelyn, who stood only about 5-feet-2.
"That's not the same," Patty rolled her eyes at him. "Early or late, there's a big difference. You gotta seize opportunities early, or you'll miss out. With Albert's height, he might struggle to find a girlfriend in college. I really worry about him."
"Patty, I think you care more about Albert than his mom does," Kevin said with a grin.
"Of course, I do," Patty replied proudly as she stepped into the elevator and pressed the floor button. "He used to spend every winter and summer break at my place playing games. He'd share his secrets with me instead of his sister. To me, he's like my little brother."
"And what about me, Patty?" Kevin asked, wanting to know his place in Patty's heart, as he caught a whiff of her light fragrance.
"You... Godbrother, I guess," Patty said with a playful smile, glancing at Kevin. Her feelings for Albert and Kevin were totally different. She was so used to Albert that she couldn't see him as someone of the opposite sex.
But Kevin was different.
Physically, he was already like a grown man, although mentally still a teenager. He was more mature than Albert. Sometimes, his gaze at her wasn't as innocent as a child's but held curiosity and an exploratory nature, typical of boys transitioning to men, eager to understand the world of women.
Since her divorce from Lawrence, Patty hadn't been with any other men. Apart from the plumber and the security guard, no men had entered her home. "It's so late and cold outside. How about we change the punishment?" Patty grabbed Kevin's arm and shook it, her breasts brushing against him and making his heart race.
