Chapter 449 Tension

"Alright, now that you know you were wrong, let's go. Didn't you want to go to the amusement park? How can you play without money? I'll go with you." Audrey looked at Kevin, feeling a mix of annoyance and amusement. But then she realized she might have been too hard on Kevin. After all, he was just a high school student, and boys are naturally playful. Plus, Kevin rarely came to the city, so forgetting their plans when he saw the amusement park was understandable.

"Never mind, sis. I'm a bit hungry. Let's find a place to eat." Kevin was taken aback. Evelyn might still be at the amusement park. He remembered the time they were intimate on the balcony and Audrey caught them. If Audrey saw Evelyn, she might recognize her. He couldn't risk them meeting.

"Well, how about this? I heard there's a street full of delicious snacks in Starfall Town. They have a lot of tasty stuff there. Let's check it out." Audrey, unfazed by Kevin's concerns, felt a bit hungry herself and pulled Kevin towards the park's entrance.

Just as they reached the bus stop outside the park, Audrey's phone rang. Seeing it was Vanessa calling, she furrowed her brow, glanced at Kevin, then walked aside to answer the call.

"Hello, Mr. Jones, what's up?" Audrey asked.

"Mrs. Johnson, sorry to interrupt your time with Kevin," Vanessa chuckled.

Audrey felt annoyed. Vanessa was clearly suspicious of her and Kevin's relationship to test her like this. She coldly replied, "Mr. Jones, what's the matter? If there's nothing, I'll hang up."

"Mrs. Johnson, don't be mad. I was just teasing you," Vanessa quickly explained. "Mr. Jones is in town and wants to take us out for dinner. He asked me to let you know."

"Mr. Jones? Which Mr. Jones?" Audrey was momentarily confused. Although they had a week of classes at the normal school, she had only seen the school principal once at the start of the training. Audrey couldn't remember if his last name was Li.

"Mrs. Johnson, don't play dumb. It's our school's Mr. Jones," Vanessa sneered. She couldn't stand Audrey's hypocrisy, pretending not to know Oliver well in public while possibly being intimate with him in private.

"Mr. Jones is in town?" Audrey was surprised. Why would Oliver suddenly come to town? She hesitated and asked, "Vanessa, who else did Mr. Jones invite?"

"No one else, just us two," Vanessa replied. "Audrey, Mr. Jones said if you don't come today, we'll wait for you at the hotel. Let's see if he can persuade you. Audrey, Mr. Jones is really giving you face."

Audrey felt a headache coming on. She didn't want to attend this dinner, especially with just her and Vanessa. She didn't know Oliver's intentions. But Vanessa had pushed her into a corner. She owed her presence in the city to Oliver's decision. Audrey had never thanked Oliver before. With a sense of resignation, she said, "Alright, I'll head over soon."

"Then hurry up. Don't keep Mr. Jones waiting. We'll be at the Lotus Hall on the second floor of the Grand Hotel. If you can't find us, give me a call." Vanessa hung up.

Feeling troubled, Audrey realized she couldn't skip this social event with Oliver. But if Kevin found out she was dining with Oliver, he would be upset. They had clashed over Oliver before. So Audrey decided not to tell Kevin about her dinner plans with Oliver.

"Sis, whose call was that? I'm starving," Kevin exaggeratedly complained. He had only had a bottle of cola earlier and hadn't eaten anything. He had been active with Evelyn in the equipment room, and his stomach was empty.

"Kevin, something urgent came up at my school. I have to go back." Audrey took out a hundred dollars from her bag and handed it to Kevin. "Just find a nearby restaurant and eat something. I'll come back to pick you up after I'm done."

"Why the rush? Can't it wait?" Kevin frowned. "How about I come with you?"

"No need. You can't help with my work." Audrey felt flustered. "I'll be back in an hour." With that, she hailed a taxi and hurriedly left.

Watching the taxi drive away, Kevin felt puzzled. He wondered what had happened to Audrey. It seemed like she was keeping something from him. But he quickly dismissed the thought. Why would his sister hide something from him? It must be his imagination.

Seeing a snack shop at the entrance, Kevin walked in and ordered some noodles and two meat pies. He ate heartily but felt a bit lonely without Audrey. He wondered where to pass the time after finishing his meal.

Just then, a young couple entered the shop. Kevin recognized the guy as the one he had bet on basketball with earlier. The guy, seeing Kevin eating inside, looked uncomfortable and hesitated to leave. But the girl insisted on staying. She sat across from Kevin, and the guy nervously sat next to her, eyeing Kevin warily, as if afraid Kevin would steal his girlfriend.

Kevin found it amusing. He thought Audrey was much prettier than the guy's girlfriend, with a better figure. Why would he be interested in her? It was quite petty. But seeing the guy's nervousness sparked a mischievous idea in Kevin. He winked at the girl.

The girl had already recognized Kevin but felt awkward greeting him in front of her boyfriend. When Kevin winked at her, she blushed, lowered her head, and remembered the moment at the amusement park when her breasts pressed against Kevin's chest. She felt a tingling sensation in her nipples, her thighs involuntarily clamped together, and her full chest heaved, clearly stirred with desire.
