Chapter 323: The Wild Dance Party
Kevin returned home and saw his mother, Bethany, packing her bag in the living room. He walked over and called out, "Mom, you're back."
Bethany turned around, saw Kevin, and smiled slightly, saying, "Kevin, how was your stay at your cousin's house these past few days? Are you getting used to it? Did you cause any trouble?"
"How could I cause trouble? My cousin and I get along great. She even helps me with my homework," Kevin said with a grin, thinking about how comfortable these past few days have been. It would have been even better if his mother had come back a couple of days later.
"That's good to hear. It seems like leaving you with your cousin was the right decision," Bethany said, looking pleased at Kevin's words. She continued packing her bag and took out a palm-sized electronic dictionary, handing it to Kevin, saying, "Kevin, I bought this for you when Mrs. Cooper and I went to the capital city. They said students in the capital are using this to learn English. We couldn't find it in our city, so I got one for you."
Kevin took the electronic dictionary, feeling a bit heavy-hearted. He had seen this kind of device at Albert's house before. Albert's mother, Evelyn, bought many of these to help her son study, even though Albert only played games on it, which was a waste of Evelyn's intentions. Although the device was small, it cost at least five to six hundred dollars, a significant expense for Bethany with her modest income.
"Mom, you and Mrs. Cooper are planning to open a store. You must not have much money on hand. I don't need this. Let's return it," Kevin said. "I can learn English well without using an English dictionary."
"Silly child, why do you think I work so hard to earn money? It's all for your education," Bethany said, patting Kevin's head with a smile. "As long as this is useful, I will spare no effort to buy it for you. You don't need to worry about household matters. Now, you must be hungry. Let me make you something to eat."
"Mom, you must be tired from just coming back. Let me cook dinner tonight," Kevin stopped his mother, feeling deeply moved. He suddenly realized he shouldn't indulge in intimacy with Audrey anymore. If his mother knew about his foolish behavior these past two days, she would be so heartbroken.
Bethany also felt a bit tired. Seeing her son insisting on cooking, she went to rest in the bedroom. Kevin went into the kitchen. Since he had been away for the past few days, there was hardly any food at home, only a few eggs. Kevin cooked some instant noodles, scrambled the eggs, added some ketchup, and called his mother to eat. However, he found his mother lying on the bed, already asleep and softly snoring.
It seemed like his mother was indeed exhausted these past few days. Kevin sat by the bed, looking at his mother's peaceful face, thinking that he should study hard starting from tomorrow.
After a while, Bethany woke up, startled to see someone sitting beside her. Upon realizing it was Kevin, she quickly sat up and said, "Kevin, why are you here? Is the food ready? Why didn't you call me?"
"I saw you sleeping so soundly, I didn't want to disturb you," Kevin said with a smile. They walked to the dining room and each had a bowl of noodles. Although it was just plain noodles, Bethany enjoyed it immensely.
"Mom, isn't Mrs. Cooper a teacher? Will she have time to run the business with you in the future?" Kevin asked.
"Oh, your Mrs. Cooper and I have already discussed it. I will be in the store during the day, and she will come to help when she's free from classes. If the business really takes off, we'll hire a few more staff," Bethany said with a slight smile. She and Grace had visited several major clothing distributors in the capital city this time, finding suitable channels. Those unfamiliar with the clothing industry had no idea how profitable it could be. Clothes bought at wholesale prices for tens of dollars could easily be marked up tenfold in the store, provided the purchasing price was low enough.
However, Kevin wasn't too interested in these matters. He was more concerned about whether the tall and curvy Mrs. Cooper would visit their home again. Grace's long and shapely legs were even more enticing than Audrey's slender ones. Kevin even wondered if Grace would look even more stunning in the sexy swimsuit Audrey had bought.
Thinking about Grace's strong and shapely thighs and perky buttocks, Kevin felt a stirring below. But with Bethany nearby, he had to control himself. When Bethany finished eating and went to the kitchen to clean up, Kevin quickly went back to his room, lay on the bed, and began to pleasure himself.
While Kevin was lost in his thoughts, the banquet hall at the county hotel was bustling with activity. Leaders from the Education Bureau, principals, and vice-principals from various schools were mingling and exchanging teaching experiences. These people were usually too busy to meet, so they took this opportunity to chat and learn from each other.
As the principal of the school, Oliver naturally attracted attention. The First High School was widely recognized as the best school, with a significantly higher enrollment rate. Since Oliver became the principal, the school's enrollment rate had been steadily increasing, ranking first in the county for five consecutive years. Oliver now had the confidence to surpass the First High School.
After chatting with the Education Bureau leaders for a while, Oliver moved to a secluded corner to rest. He wore a tired expression, as he disliked these official social gatherings. However, for the school's development, he had to maintain good relations with the Education Bureau leaders.
"Mr. Jones, why are you alone?" Just as Oliver was about to relax, a familiar voice sounded beside him. He turned to see Vanessa standing there, wearing a red mini skirt that revealed a hint of cleavage and her alluring long legs. Oliver thought to himself that Vanessa was quite something to find her way here. He smiled slightly, "Oh, it's Mr. Jones. What brings you here?"
