Chapter 1361

Daisy bit her lip, hard, stifling a moan. Even though she'd already crossed the line with Kevin, the illicit nature of their coupling felt like a dangerous secret, one that threatened to shatter her carefully constructed life. The thrill was intoxicating, but the fear was a constant undercurrent.

She braced herself for Kevin's next move, a wave of anticipation washing over her. Suddenly, the jarring trill of her cell phone sliced through the quiet intimacy. Daisy snatched it from the nightstand, her heart leaping into her throat. Oliver's name flashed on the screen. Of all the times… Annoyance flared, hot and sharp. She almost flung the phone across the room.

For a moment, she hesitated. Answering Oliver now, in the middle of this, felt wrong. She silenced the call. It was rarely anything urgent. She could call him back. Besides, speaking to her husband while entangled with another man felt… disrespectful. A betrayal on multiple levels.

Kevin watched her reject the call, a flicker of disappointment registering in his eyes. There was a certain thrill, a heightened sense of danger, in being with Daisy while her husband called. He remembered a similar situation with Audrey, when a call from Jason had sent a jolt of adrenaline through him, nearly pushing him over the edge.

But this was his first real time with Daisy, and he wanted it to go smoothly. As long as he could keep this going, there would be other opportunities, other chances for that kind of risky excitement.

He knew, too, that these things were a matter of timing. A perfectly timed phone call wasn't something you could manufacture. While he didn't need Oliver's intrusion to enjoy himself, it definitely added a spicy kick. It amplified the experience, but its absence wouldn't diminish the pleasure.

In the grand scheme of things, it was a small blip, insignificant. He remembered Malcolm's advice about seeing the bigger picture, about not getting bogged down in petty details. Daisy's father, a retired military man, had lived a remarkable life, and his words often resonated with Kevin.

He sometimes wondered how Daisy had ended up with Oliver. Oliver was a decent enough guy, but his obsession with Audrey made things messy. If it weren't for that, navigating this whole situation would be a lot simpler, especially considering Oliver was Laura's father. It was a tangled web.

"Okay, we're good. No more interruptions," Daisy said, a nervous edge to her voice. She powered off her phone completely and tucked it under her pillow. A seductive smile played on her lips, her flushed cheeks glowing in the dim light. Her body, momentarily stilled, began to stir again, soft moans escaping her.

The room settled back into a quiet rhythm. Kevin lay on top of Daisy, their bodies still joined, their breath mingling in the warm air. The afterglow of their shared pleasure hung heavy between them.

After a long moment, Daisy exhaled slowly, reaching up to stroke Kevin's damp hair. "Alright, Kevin. Time to roll over."

Kevin shifted, settling beside her, a lazy grin spreading across his face. He ran a hand along her side. "Daisy, that was… incredible."

"Mmm-hmm," she agreed, a sultry smile curving her lips. She caught his hand, her eyes playful. "Hands off, mister. Haven't you had enough?"

"You're so beautiful, Daisy," he chuckled, his fingers continuing their exploration.

"Kevin," she warned, a hint of breathlessness in her voice. "I meant what I said." She looked at him, her gaze intense. "As long as you're good to Laura, I'll… take care of you."

"I can keep my promises. I'm sixteen. Sixteen's old enough to be responsible," he insisted, a touch of defiance in his tone. He was old enough to be held accountable for his actions, old enough to know right from wrong. Old enough to know that murder was illegal.

"Okay, okay. I believe you," she said, her voice softening. "As long as you're serious about Laura, I'll be good to you. But if you ever hurt her, you'll have me to deal with."

"You have my word," Kevin said, his voice firm. "And if it comes down to it, I'll protect both of you. You're… family. Protecting you is part of taking care of her."

"Smooth talker," she teased, her eyes twinkling. "But you're right. If you're good to Laura, I'm happy. If I'm good to you, Laura's happy. Everyone contributes, society's harmonious. No more crime. That's my dad's philosophy. What is society? It's all of us. We all get better, society gets better."

"Yeah, like at Sunset Valley High. There are some bad apples there. Ivan, Quentin… those guys messed things up. Good thing Quentin's gone and Ivan's calmed down. Makes things a lot easier," Kevin said.

"Exactly. So don't become one of those bad apples, Kevin. Be a good citizen. That's how I'll like you. That's how Laura will like you. That's how your teachers will like you. That's how everyone will like you. That's the deal. Don't disappoint me."

Her earnest words, her nearness, sent a fresh wave of desire through him. His erection, momentarily softened, hardened again. He shifted, throwing a leg over her hip, pressing his body against hers. "Daisy," he breathed. "I want more."

"Oh, you," she murmured, her eyes locking with his. A flicker of anticipation crossed her face. "Just once more, Kevin."

"Okay," he whispered, his voice thick with desire. He moved over her, their bodies aligning, and began another slow, deliberate descent into passion.
