Chapter 661 The Temptation of Lingerie
"You..." Alissa looked Audrey up and down, feeling that something was off with her today. "What do you have in mind? You're not planning to go see Mr. Jones, are you? Let me tell you, you better not be foolish. He's just a department head, not worth the trouble."
"Where are you going with this?" Audrey blushed, knowing that Alissa had misunderstood. "Since I dared to speak, I naturally have my ways. Quentin is relying on his uncle, isn't he? If his uncle can't become the deputy director, who else can he rely on?"
"You speak lightly." Alissa sneered. "His uncle is aiming to become the director. Can you bring him down?"
Audrey bit her lip and remained silent. The only person she knew who could easily handle a deputy director of the county education bureau was Angus. However, Audrey hesitated as she and Angus were not that close, and Angus might not agree to such a plan. She hesitated for a moment before softly saying, "Sis, I will definitely help you become the department head. Believe it or not."
With that, she got up and left the office.
"This Audrey, I wonder what's gotten into her." After Audrey left, Alissa was still puzzled. She thought, could it be because she can see Kevin now, her mind is too excited? She remembered how she was when she first got involved with Kevin, always extremely excited, only calming down later.
Alissa wondered if Audrey and Kevin had done anything. It was impressive how a single woman like her could endure for so long. Kevin, on the other hand, had been quite aggressive towards her initially, almost forcing himself on her, yet he was patient with Audrey. It seemed that in Kevin's eyes, his cousin was the most important.
However, Alissa knew she couldn't compare herself to Audrey, in terms of looks and figure, Audrey was far superior. Even Alissa couldn't help but be moved by Audrey's stunning beauty, let alone Kevin, a high school student in his prime.
Meanwhile, in the classroom, Kevin was chatting with Albert.
"Kevin, do you know where I went last night?" Albert said mysteriously.
"I don't care where you went." Kevin lazily replied. "Did you go get a haircut and visit a lady?"
"I went to Christopher's house and smashed all their windows." Albert proudly declared. "I even threw two dead rats into their yard, disgusting them. Let's see if he dares to harass Mrs. Johnson again."
"I told you not to get involved, right? She's my cousin, not yours." Kevin said, displeased. He despised Christopher, but he planned to deal with him properly during the summer break. Albert's actions would only disgust Christopher, with no real effect.
"I'm just helping you and Mrs. Johnson vent." Albert grinned. Seeing Kevin's displeasure, he changed the subject. "Anyway, enough about that. Laura is celebrating her birthday at the bar tonight, did she invite you?"
"She did." Kevin nodded. "Who else did she invite?"
"A lot of people, Lucy, me, Carl, and a few other class representatives. But not Ivan." Albert counted on his fingers. "Ivan must be feeling miserable. Tonight is a good opportunity, I plan to confess to Laura then, you have to help me out."
"Alright." Kevin agreed, though he felt Albert's confession wouldn't mean much. He didn't want to dampen Albert's spirits, but he knew the outcome if Albert faced rejection.
At noon, as Kevin prepared to head home, he saw Audrey waiting for him at the school gate. He smiled and approached her, "Sis, are you coming home with me?"
"No, I need to go home to get something." Audrey smiled slightly. "I'll be staying at the school for a while, so I won't trouble Auntie."
"Why, sis, why do you want to stay at the school?" Kevin asked anxiously. "Isn't it nice to stay at my place?"
"What's so good about it?" Audrey gave Kevin a playful look. "It's because you're not honest. Exams are coming up soon, so you better study diligently and not have any wild thoughts, got it?"
"Okay, fine." Kevin nodded helplessly. "Sis, let me help you pack."
After hesitating for a moment, Audrey said, "You can help with packing, but don't think about anything else. Otherwise, you might as well not come."
"Sis, I really am here to help." Kevin felt frustrated seeing Audrey so guarded. It seemed that last night's incident had really scared her.
As they walked into the alley, they ran into Christopher. With a missing front tooth, Christopher looked quite comical. Kevin chuckled inwardly, glad that he had finally received some retribution. Let's see if he still dares to harass Audrey.
"Big sis is back." Christopher glanced at Kevin and said to Audrey, "Be careful recently. Someone smashed our windows last night, might be a thief."
"I see." Audrey replied calmly, then pulled Kevin into the yard and whispered, "Kevin, did you smash Christopher's windows? I told you not to provoke his mother. Why didn't you listen?"
