"Oh, I just wanted to finish my homework first," Kevin said and waved his homework notebook, hoping to get Laura to leave quickly.

He was about to say he missed her, but then he saw two women in the room, Alissa and Audrey, who were sitting on the sofa looking at him in surprise. He froze and his mind went blank while standing at the door and unsure of what to do. So he looked from Alissa to Audrey and didn’t know why they were together.
Alissa hadn't expected Kevin to burst in. After work, she had been debating whether to go straight home or stay in the office to work, thinking that Kevin might come looking for her. But then Audrey suddenly showed up with a pair of stockings that she said were too long for her and couldn't be returned and asked Alissa to try them on.
Alissa found that they fit perfectly and realized Audrey was actually trying to get attached. They started chatting casually, and Audrey, who finally found a woman to talk about her feelings, began to pour out her troubles. Alissa sympathized with her but couldn't offer much help. She couldn't suggest that Audrey find a young man to satisfy her desires as she had.
