Chapter 1396
"My mistakes, Mr. Lopez, this is Kevin's first time in Skyview City. I saw we had some extra time, so I took him for a tour around the school," Audrey quickly explained, not wanting to offend Zane.
"A tour? Is the competition more important or playing around?" Zane persistently questioned. "Ms. Johnson, originally the city didn't allocate any spots for your school. It was Director White who made a special exception to support grassroots schools. You don't appreciate it at all. I will call your County Education Office to report this issue."
Audrey felt a pang of unease. If Zane really reported her absence from his meeting to the County Education Office, it would be a big problem. She regretted going along with Kevin's wishes, knowing Zane would seize the opportunity to make trouble.
Kevin, however, sensed something was off. If there really was a meeting in the afternoon, Zane would have called to urge them earlier. He snorted and said, "Mr. Lopez, what about the participants from Maple Grove High? They don't seem to be back either, so why are you only picking on us?"
Zane fell silent immediately. Earlier, he had tried to gather people for a meeting after lunch at the hotel, but found no one around. Maddy said she was shopping at the mall, and Jillie didn't even answer her phone, which infuriated him. He went back to his room to sleep and happened to run into Audrey and Kevin, giving him a chance to vent his frustration.
Audrey quickly understood that Zane thought she was an easy target. She gave Zane a cold look and returned to her room with Kevin, saying softly, "Kevin, the finals are tomorrow morning. I have to go out tonight, so you stay in my room and prepare well. I'll write some questions for you to practice. Understand?"
"Alright," Kevin nodded, showing some awareness.
At that moment, Audrey's phone rang. It was Trina, informing that the class reunion venue was set at the nearby Emerald Oasis Hotel, room 205, and she should come early to catch up with old classmates.
Audrey hung up the phone, told Kevin to do his homework, and went to the bathroom to take a shower. She changed into a black long dress that hugged her tall, sexy body. The dress had a slightly low neckline, revealing some cleavage, making her look particularly alluring. Her long, shapely legs were encased in nude stockings, and she wore high heels. With light makeup and her hair simply tied back, she looked elegant and stunning.
Kevin watched with a mix of pride and worry. He was proud that such a sexy and beautiful woman was his. Yet, he was anxious about the evening's gathering, unsure of the kind of people who would be attending. What if someone got the wrong idea upon seeing her? Jealousy coloring his voice, he voiced, "Audrey, you're dressed so beautifully. What if we run into some troublemakers? Perhaps I should accompany you."
"This is Skyview City. There aren't that many troublemakers around. Besides, I'm going to a class reunion. How would it look if I brought you along?" Audrey chided. "Just stay home and write your essay. I'll check it when I get back." With that, she departed.
Kevin felt a bit frustrated but had no choice but to start writing his essay. He was still thinking about exploring Audrey's anus. She had finally agreed, and if he didn't make it to the top eight this time, the opportunity would be wasted.
In room 205 of the Emerald Oasis Hotel, Trina was on the phone. She was the first to arrive, wearing a burgundy dress that looked very festive.
"Gary, why aren't you here yet? I'm telling you, anyone else can skip, but you must come. Audrey is in Skyview City. As her ex-boyfriend, you can't be absent. We won't start without you. Okay, see you soon." Trina hung up the phone with a smug smile. She had organized this dinner mainly to connect with Gary. Gary was not an ordinary person; he had become a high-ranking official at a young age, with a promising future. If she didn't build a relationship now, she might not get another chance. Of course, without Audrey, Gary might not have come.
Half an hour later, attendees started arriving one after another, exchanging pleasantries. A tall figure walked in—it was Audrey, in her black dress, outshining everyone. Her almond-shaped eyes, rosy cheeks, red lips, and white teeth, along with her long, shapely legs in stockings and her proud breasts, exuded a mature charm that made hearts race.
Several male classmates were stunned and rushed to talk to Audrey, leaving the female classmates neglected. Trina couldn't help but feel jealous. Whenever Audrey was around, she was always the center of attention.
"Apologies, I'm late," a man in a suit walked into the room. He was tall and well-built, with defined facial features, thick eyebrows, and bright eyes, exuding an impressive presence. It was Gary.
Trina quickly approached, warmly hugging Gary's arm, intentionally rubbing her breasts against him. She smiled, "Director Collins, it's an honor to have you at our reunion. We just arrived, and congratulations on your promotion to management. Dinner's on you."
"Fair enough," Gary responded perfunctorily, his eyes scanning the crowd eagerly until they landed on a familiar figure, making his heart skip a beat.
Audrey also saw Gary at that moment. Unlike the other female classmates who went up to chat, she quietly watched her former boyfriend, a hint of confusion and hesitation in her eyes.
Gary stared at Audrey he once loved. Although six years had passed, she was still so beautiful. Her elegant demeanor and stunning looks deeply moved him. He thought he had moved on, but when he received Trina's call, he realized he hadn't forgotten Audrey.
Trina clapped her hands and laughed, "Come on, pals. Let me clarify, this is a class reunion. We're here to catch up as classmates, not for a couple's date. Whatever you do after the reunion is your business, but no public displays of affection here."
Everyone joined in the teasing. Gary smiled silently, while Audrey frowned, wanting to explain but not knowing what to say. After all, she and Gary had indeed dated, but they had both married since then, and rekindling old feelings was out of the question.
Everyone took their seats, and the waiter brought out the food. Trina had chosen a high-end seafood restaurant in Skyview City, with lobster, abalone, and caviar on the table. However, for Gary and Trina, such food was just average.
The men drank beer, and the women drank red wine. Audrey couldn't refuse the toasts and soon her face turned rosy, her eyes becoming watery and seductive, making people daydream.
Gary chatted with a few male classmates while glancing at Audrey across the table. He thought about their sweet college days, feeling a strange mix of emotions. Back then, he was proud and never lacked beautiful women around him. Even after breaking up with Audrey, he didn't feel much regret. His current wife was a TV host, almost as beautiful as a star, with a hot and sexy body, very passionate and open in bed.
But he always felt something was missing. Seeing Audrey again today, Gary suddenly understood. Young men might admire beautiful women, but after marriage, they longed for a wife like Audrey—reserved, low-key, and embodying the qualities of a good wife and mother. During college, he had dated over ten girlfriends, each relationship lasting only a few months. Audrey was the only one he hadn't slept with. When he had asked, Audrey firmly refused, not even allowing intimate gestures. This was one of the reasons they broke up. With many women eager to be with him, he wasn't willing to settle.
As he grew older, Gary’s views began to evolve. He realized that the qualities he sought in a girlfriend differed from those he desired in a wife. While a girlfriend needed to be fun and attractive, a wife required education and the ability to manage a household. It wasn't merely about physical allure.
Audrey’s figure was just as appealing, if not more so, than his wife's. Her curves, particularly her breasts, appeared even more generous and pert than they had in college. Clearly, her husband had taken good care of her. Gary couldn't help but feel a twinge of regret. Had he been more patient, he might have been Audrey’s first lover.
Tonight, he came to the reunion partly to make up for past regrets, hoping to see if something more than friendship could happen with Audrey. After all, they were both married, and a little excitement wouldn't hurt. He had heard Audrey hadn't been doing well these years, and he could help her out. After all, she was his ex-girlfriend.
After a few rounds of toasts, everyone was getting tipsy. Trina raised her glass, "My friends, from now on, we should unite around Director Collins. Director Collins is our leader, right?"
Gary had no choice but to stand up and drink a glass of wine. It was expected, as there were no purely social reunions anymore. He wielded the most clout., so naturally, everyone followed his lead.
