Chapter 1575
Jason woke up drenched in sweat, glancing at the young couple still snuggled up and asleep across from him, feeling a lingering unease.
He had just had a dream where he walked in on his wife in bed with another man, their intimacy unfolding before his eyes. He tried to intervene in a fit of rage but found himself unable to approach the bed, forced to witness helplessly as his wife was betrayed by a stranger, her body being touched in ways that made his blood boil.
"Why the hell would I dream something like that?" Jason muttered to himself, wiping the sweat off his brow, the unsettling dream still fresh in his mind.
The dream felt too vivid, like a scene playing out right in front of him. He could almost hear his wife's moans, the rhythmic sounds of their bodies, and the bed creaking, even sensing the scent of their passion in the air.
Could Audrey really do that to him? Jason's heart ached, his hands balling into fists from the intensity of his emotions. Despite the strain in their relationship, the idea of his wife being unfaithful cut deep. It was a man's worst nightmare. A flicker of anger flashed in his eyes, a silent vow to exact revenge on anyone who dared betray him in such a way.
No, it was just a dream. Jason slowly unclenched his fists. Audrey wasn't the type to do something like that. If she wanted to cheat, she would have done it ages ago. And she wouldn’t have traveled all the way to Imperial City to try and reconcile with him if he had wronged her.
Just then, the train began to decelerate. Jason turned to look out the window and saw that they had reached Floraville Station.
Floraville, a city with a rich history and a population nearing a million, had been home to many notable figures throughout the years.
Gabe Ortiz, Jason's dorm supervisor from Greenville, was waiting to pick him up at the station. As they drove back to their neighborhood, Gabe gave Jason a hearty slap on the back and said, "Jason, it's been too long! Let’s grab a drink tonight and catch up."
Entering the building, a woman in her thirties emerged to greet them. With her fair complexion and curvy figure, she exuded a certain charm. Taking Jason's backpack with a warm smile, she said, "You must be Jason. Gabe talks about you all the time. Come on in."
Gabe chuckled, "Meet my better half, Holly Gibson. She was a real looker back in the day, not so much now."
Holly playfully rolled her eyes, blushing, and teased, "Don’t listen to him, Jason. He’s always full of it, trying to butter himself up."
Jason quickly chimed in, "You're still as stunning as ever. Gabe, you hit the jackpot."
As they stepped inside, Holly announced, "You guys catch up, I'll whip up some grub. Lunch will be ready soon." With a sway of her hips, she headed into the kitchen, sporting black cotton shorts that accentuated her toned thighs, looking quite alluring.
Jason couldn't resist stealing a few more glances, then scolded himself for being so forward. Gabe's wife might not hold a candle to Audrey, let alone Kassy.
Meanwhile, Gabe delved into conversations with Jason about their college escapades, reminiscing about their youthful ambitions. He sighed, "Jason, back in college, we thought we were destined to change the world. Now, we're just trying to make ends meet. Our grand dreams feel like a distant memory."
Jason nodded in agreement. Gabe had been quite the rebel in college, spearheading the first reading club and organizing debates, aiming to be a trailblazer in the emerging cultural scene. But now, he was content with running his small business.
"Oh, hey, Jason, are you married?" Gabe suddenly inquired. "I remember you were with a real stunner back then, like campus royalty. What's the story with her?"
"Yeah, her name's Audrey. We've been married for five years," Jason responded. "She's teaching at a high school in my hometown, and I'm thinking of diving into business in Imperial City."
"Wow, that's awesome," Gabe exclaimed, surprised by Jason and Audrey tying the knot. "So, any plans for kids?"
"Not yet."
"No way, you gotta get on that. How can you not have kids?" Gabe frowned. "A woman needs little ones to dote on. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. Look at me and Holly, we had one right after getting married. Now our kid’s in kindergarten. In her world, it’s just me and the kid. No room for anything else."
They settled at the table, which was laden with an array of dishes.
Gabe fetched a bottle of wine from the cabinet, grinning, "Jason, here's my special homemade tonic wine. I hardly ever touch it. Let's enjoy it today. Make sure to treat your wife right when you head back tomorrow."
Jason took the bottle and noticed it contained a mix of herbs known for their aphrodisiac qualities. Subconsciously, he glanced at Holly beside him, noting her curves and wondering if there was more to her than met the eye. Why else would Gabe be sipping aphrodisiac wine at thirty?
Raising his glass, Gabe proposed a toast, "Jason, it's destiny that we old classmates reunite after all these years. Let's drink to that!"
Eagerly, Jason downed a glass of the potent wine, feeling a spicy kick that warmed his entire body. A pleasant heat spread through his lower abdomen, hinting at the wine's efficacy.
Gabe, with his high alcohol tolerance, polished off half the bottle swiftly. Jason started to feel a bit woozy. Seeing Gabe about to refill his glass, he hurriedly covered it, saying, "Gabe, I can't handle any more. I'll need to find a hotel later."
"What hotel? You're in Floraville; you're crashing at our place," Gabe slurred, his breath heavy with alcohol. He turned to Holly, "Babe, any objections to Jason bunking with us?"
"No problem at all," Holly said cheerfully. "Jason, make yourself at home. Hotels can be so isolating. Just kick back tonight, enjoy the drinks, and let go of any worries."
Caught up in Gabe and Holly's enthusiasm, Jason found it hard to decline and continued drinking with Gabe. Fortunately, the tonic wine wasn't too strong, just leaving him a bit flushed and sweaty.
They soon finished the bottle of tonic wine. Gabe, who had consumed most of it, was starting to lose his coherence. He even stripped off his shirt, reminiscing with Jason as if they were back in college. Holly, on the other hand, remained composed, flashing a patient smile as she brewed coffee for them.
Eventually, Gabe succumbed and passed out at the dining table. Seeing this, Jason promptly assisted Holly in moving him to the bedroom.
Surveying the unconscious Gabe, Jason suggested to Holly, "Maybe I should head out. It's my first time here, and I hate to be a bother."
"Don't be ridiculous," Holly wiped her brow, her chest rising and falling with exertion. Dressed in a tank top hinting at her cleavage, she likely skipped the bra. Jason's mouth went dry, a fiery sensation stirring in his lower abdomen. He averted his gaze, refusing to entertain inappropriate thoughts about his friend's wife.
After settling Gabe in bed, Holly smiled at Jason, "Let's go. I'll show you to your room." With a sway of her hips, she led the way out, a tantalizing sight for Jason. His body reacted, unsure how to handle the escalating desire. Regret gnawed at him for sharing the tonic wine with Gabe.
Following Holly to a small bedroom across the living area, Jason watched as she bent over to grab fresh sheets, her curves accentuated in shorts. His dick surged, urging him to act on his impulses. Yet, a flicker of conscience restrained him. Betraying Gabe was out of the question.
