Chapter 1390
"I'm afraid I'm not going, thanks for your invitation." Audrey hesitated. Although she was a well-known figure at the university, she now felt a distance between herself and her colleagues at Ravenfall. Meeting them would only be awkward with nothing in common to talk about.
"There's no hurry to give me your reply. Wait for my call. I'll contact them and call you." Trina voiced enthusiastically, perhaps to reminisce about the good old college days or to show Audrey her connections at Ravenfall. Either way, this reunion was unavoidable.
After Trina left, Kevin curiously asked, "Audrey, who was that woman?"
"Just an old classmate who works at Ravenfall. She said we should have dinner together tonight," Audrey replied nonchalantly.
"Count me in," Kevin quickly mentioned.
"No, you should stay at the hotel and prepare for tomorrow's semi-finals," Audrey warned. Thinking about the evening gathering heightened her anxiety, as memories from the past began to resurface. After all, she had spent four years here; how could she not have formed deep sentiments?
After a while, the preliminary results came out. Four out of nine participant from Starfall Maple Grove High made it to the semi-finals, though their rankings were relatively low. Kevin also made it to the semi-finals, ranking eleventh. The top ten were all perfect scores, showing how fierce the competition was.
Now, both Zane, Jillie, and Maddy looked at Kevin with newfound respect. Even Toby was impressed.
Since the semi-finals were scheduled for the following day, there were no immediate tasks at hand. However, Zane insisted that everyone return to the hotel after lunch to hold a meeting and review their experiences and lessons learned. Nonetheless, no one took his words seriously. After all, having made it to Skyview City, everyone was eager to hang out and wouldn't miss the opportunity.
Audrey took Kevin to a nearby student cafeteria. It was lunchtime, and the cafeteria was bustling with students. Kevin watched several college girls walk by, all wearing tank tops and shorts, showing off their slim waists, round and firm hips, and long legs, exuding the allure of youth. Evergreen Academy indeed had many beauties.
Even among the many beauties at Evergreen Academy, Audrey's looks were unmatched. She wore tight jeans and a white T-shirt, appearing quiet and elegant in the crowd. Her graceful and mature figure caught the attention of the college boys around her, who whispered and even took photos with their phones.
Looking at the once-familiar cafeteria, Audrey felt nostalgic. It had been over four years since she graduated, and this was her first time returning to her alma mater. Memories of her time here with Gary, when they often ate at this cafeteria, came flooding back. They had just started dating and, like other couples, spent almost every moment together, leaving sweet memories in every corner of the school.
Gary, though the son of a social high-standing, was not arrogant like others. His gentle demeanor won Audrey's heart. However, his inherent aristocratic attitude eventually surfaced, making Audrey uncomfortable with his insistence that women should stay home and take care of the family. Coupled with people mocking Audrey for being materialistic, their frequent arguments led to their breakup.
Noticing the growing number of onlookers, Audrey swiftly led Kevin to a secluded corner and seated them there. Afterward, she went to the counter to place their order: fried chicken for herself and a steak for Kevin. Kevin, already famished, brightened at the sight of the aromatic steak and promptly began his ravenous consumption.
"Chew well, Kevin." Audrey chided, noticing the strange looks from others. "This is a university. Look around; no one eats like you."
"I'll be done soon," Kevin chuckled. He didn't care since no one knew him here, as long as Audrey didn't mind.
Audrey shook her head helplessly. She wasn't really annoyed with Kevin, just used to disciplining him. The university atmosphere was quite open, and she dressed young, like a student. Kevin, tall and strong, looked like a freshman. Together, they seemed like a mature senior and a naive junior in a sweet romance.
After lunch, they left the cafeteria. Audrey wanted to return to the hotel, but Kevin wanted to explore the campus, feeling a strong connection to Audrey's alma mater.
"What's there to see? It's just bigger than Sunset Valley High," Audrey hesitated. "Besides, Mr. Lopez said we have a meeting this afternoon."
"We're not going." Kevin voiced angrily. Zane was abusing his power, acting like a leader. If he pushed too far, Kevin would complain to Angus.
Audrey didn't want to attend the meeting, either. Zane's lecherous eyes made her uncomfortable. During city training, Zane often found excuses to visit her dorm, but Vanessa's presence diverted most of his attention.
"It's acceptable," Audrey nodded, thinking the meeting was pointless. She decided to show Kevin around, introducing the library, study rooms, and various departments. Audrey's charming appearance and curvaceous figure attracted all the male attention, making Kevin proud. He held Audrey's hand, feeling her soft breasts against his arm, enjoying the envious looks from others. He wished he could announce that Audrey was his girlfriend and closest lover.
Audrey felt a bit nervous, worried about running into former teachers. But she didn't let go of Kevin's hand, walking with him through the picturesque campus, sharing stories from her school days, omitting her relationship with Gary to avoid Kevin's jealousy.
The two walked to the side of the basketball court, where several boys were playing. Kevin couldn't resist watching for a few moments and felt that their level wasn't quite up to his. Just then, a boy put too much force into a shot, causing the basketball to fly over the fence and roll right to Audrey's feet.
"Hey, buddy, get the ball, come on." the boys called to Audrey.
Audrey tried to throw the ball over the three-yard-high fence but failed, her large breasts bouncing with each attempt, mesmerizing the boys.
Kevin, realizing Audrey's breasts were his exclusive treasure, took the ball and threw it over the fence, landing it in the hoop, stunning the boys.
Feeling triumphant, Kevin grabbed Audrey's soft hand and left the court, asking, "Audrey, was I cool just now?"
"You were cool, but there weren't enough spectators. A few girls screaming would have been better, right?" Audrey smiled, feeling the simple and free atmosphere of the campus. Holding Kevin's hand, she felt like she was back in her college days.
Kevin was thrilled. Although he had spent time alone with Audrey in Oceancrest City, this was her alma mater, making it feel like a time warp. Audrey seemed like a young college student again, though four years ago, Kevin was just a clueless middle schooler, never imagining he'd one day walk with a beautiful, sexy teacher like Audrey on a college campus.
They strolled through an ivy-draped, arched corridor that stretched nearly a hundred yards. Sunlight filtered through the leaves, casting a serene ambiance. Students nestled in corners, reading quietly, while a couple sat cuddling, the boy’s hand resting on the girl’s thigh, causing her to blush but not resist, even leaning in for a kiss.
Kevin observed, thinking how wonderful college was for embracing open displays of affection. To him, love was the most joyous thing in the world.
Audrey, feeling tired, perched on a bench in the corridor. Kevin, seeing the couple still entwined, felt tempted and put his hand on Audrey's thigh.
"What are you doing?" Audrey, suddenly alert, pushed his hands away. Glancing around nervously, she admonished, "It would be so embarrassing if someone saw us. Can't we just talk?"
"Alright," Kevin sighed, finding mere conversation uninteresting. It had been a while since he'd been close to Audrey, and he thought that being intimate at her alma mater would be unforgettable.
