Chapter 1270
The lobby was crowded with children of all ages, accompanied mostly by their mothers. Daisy stood out among them, her sophisticated air, striking features, and elegant figure accentuated by her understated yet stylish dress. She had the aura of someone accustomed to finer things.
"Hey, are you here with your kid for the competition?" a middle-aged woman next to Daisy struck up a conversation. "How old is your daughter, and what does she play?"
"She's sixteen and plays the violin," Daisy replied with a slight smile. "How about yours?"
"Piano. Finished all ten levels, so I brought her here for the experience," the woman said, a hint of pride in her voice. "Violin's nice, though. Pianos are so expensive, tens of thousands of dollars just for the instrument. But what can you do? If they love it…" she trailed off, shrugging.
Daisy glanced at the woman, noticing her designer clothes and a Hermès handbag, probably a new fall release, though it looked a bit flashy. "It's not really about what instrument they play," Daisy said. "It's about fostering an appreciation for music, enjoying the process."
"All that appreciation stuff is just talk. It's all about the Benjamins these days," the woman said, her eyes lingering enviously on Daisy's flawless complexion. "You look amazing. I wouldn't have guessed you were forty. More like thirty. What's your secret? Which spa do you go to? Give me their number. I need to try it."
"I don't really do spas. Regular yoga is my secret. You should try it. Much more effective than any facial, and healthier, too," Daisy replied.
"Really? Yoga, huh?" The woman's gaze drifted to Daisy's full, firm breasts, then down to her own, less perky cleavage. "How do you keep them…you know…so perky? Mine are all…deflated after having kids. My husband won't even look at them anymore. I've been thinking about implants. Men like them big and firm, right?"
"I wouldn't recommend implants. Too invasive," Daisy said with a light laugh. "Regular massage with essential oils and, yes, yoga are much better. Consistency is key. I've been practicing for over ten years."
After giving birth, Daisy's body had changed a lot. She'd put on quite a bit of weight, especially since she swapped her onstage performances for a more laid-back, administrative role. Her once slim waist had become fuller and rounder. Determined to get back in shape, she turned to yoga for weight loss and toning. She's stuck with it ever since.
"Really? I'll give it a shot," the middle-aged woman said, eyeing Daisy's firm, ample chest. If yoga could help her get a body like Daisy's, maybe her husband would start paying attention to her again.
The woman and her daughter quickly headed up to the second floor.
Watching them go, Daisy sighed to herself. It was so unfair how much emphasis society placed on a woman's appearance. No matter how hard a woman worked to stay youthful, men still seemed to lose interest. Even with all her efforts, Oliver barely noticed her anymore, a constant source of frustration.
Soon, it was Laura's turn to perform. To avoid distracting her, Daisy took a seat in the back row. She watched with pride as Laura played the violin on stage.
When Laura finished and the results were announced, she came in second place and moved on to the semifinals. They grabbed a quick lunch and returned to the hall for the afternoon's lot drawing. By the end of the finals, Laura had won second prize. After the judges' comments and the award ceremony, it was already 7 PM.
"Laura, how do you feel?" Daisy asked with a smile as she changed into her nightgown back at the hotel.
"Mom, I played one wrong note. If I hadn't, I would've won first prize," Laura said, feeling a bit down. She was used to winning first place in competitions.
"Laura, it's okay. The ranking isn't what matters; it's about enjoying the music," Daisy said, hugging her. She felt a bit disappointed too, but comforting Laura was more important.
Just then, her phone rang. It was Oliver, asking about Laura's performance.
"Oliver, we just got back to the hotel. Laura won second prize," Daisy said, sending Laura to take a bath while she lay down on the couch to rest her tired legs. It had been a long day.
"Not bad. The important thing is she participated," Oliver's deep voice said over the phone. "By the way, Daisy, when are you coming back to Harmony County?"
"I thought we'd stay in Oceancrest City a couple more days," Daisy said, propping her shapely legs up on the armrest to improve circulation. "Kevin and his cousin are here too, so it will be nice to have some company."
"Kevin's cousin? Audrey is in Oceancrest City, too? How come I didn't know?" Oliver's voice suddenly got louder.
"Oliver, you don't get to decide Audrey's vacation plans," Daisy snapped. "Do all the teachers at your school have to report to you where they go during their holidays?"
"Hey, honey, you've got it wrong. That's not what I meant," Oliver quickly backpedaled, sensing Daisy's anger. "I was just asking. Alright, you and Laura have fun. I've got some things to take care of, so I'll hang up now."
"Go ahead and do your thing," Daisy said coldly, hanging up the phone. She got up and walked into the bathroom, where she saw Laura lying in the bathtub. She took off her nightgown, stepped into the tub with her long, round, white legs, and smiled, "Laura, have a good rest tonight. Didn't you want to go to the amusement park? We'll go tomorrow. By the way, I'll call Audrey later to see if she's done with her things."
"Thanks, Mom." Laura excitedly hugged Daisy and kissed her on the cheek, her slightly budding breasts brushing against Daisy's large, full ones.
Daisy felt Laura's touch tingle her breasts, and her body, soaked in hot water, started to feel itchy. She quickly pushed Laura away and scolded, "Well...Laura. You're a big girl. Don't act like a child."
"But I'm your daughter! Who else am I supposed to be clingy with?" Laura said with a smile, looking enviously at Daisy's proudly upright, round breasts. She couldn't help but grab the heavy breasts and gently knead them, pouting, "Mom, why are yours so big and mine so…small? I didn't inherit anything good from you! It's not fair."
Daisy smiled and shook her head helplessly, "You inherited plenty from me. Your looks, your musical talent…those are from me. Can't give you everything. You'll…grow into them eventually."
"Well...I get it," Laura nodded, thinking about Daisy and Audrey's generous bosoms compared to her own petite ones. She worried about Kevin's potential disappointment, feeling frustrated that this wasn't something she could change with effort like her grades. She imagined how easy it would be if she could just blow them up like balloons with a breath, and sighed wistfully.
While Daisy and Laura were enjoying their sweet mother-daughter time, Oliver arrived at the Imperial Bar. He booked a private room, ordered a fruit platter and some beer, and sat on the sofa, smoking a cigarette, seemingly waiting for someone.
After a while, the door to the private room opened, and a middle-aged man walked in. It was County Planning Director Barrett. He smiled, "Sorry I'm late, Oliver. Hope you haven't been waiting long."
Oliver quickly put out his cigarette, stood up, and responded with a smile, "Mr. Williams, please have a seat."
Barrett sat on the couch, crossed his legs, and said leisurely, "Oliver, what brings you here today? Let's not be formal; just say what's on your mind."
Oliver pondered for a moment and remarked, "Mr. Williams, the first phase of the faculty apartment project at Sunset Valley High is complete, and we're preparing to start the second phase. I was wondering about the timeline for the inspection and approval of the first phase. The construction company is waiting for payment."
"That's hard to say," Barrett frowned. "I'm not too sure about the specifics. I'll have to ask the people in the management department."
Oliver felt helpless. He had been busy with the faculty apartment project for days. The apartments were completed, but the County Planning Department had yet to conduct the inspection. He had no choice but to contact Barrett directly, but Barrett's evasive answer meant he would have to entertain this big shot properly tonight.
After a few drinks with Barrett, seeing that he wasn't in high spirits, Oliver called the manager and asked him to arrange for some hostesses. A few minutes later, four gorgeously dressed women walked into the private room, all wearing revealing short skirts, black stockings, and high heels. Their ample breasts were half-exposed, and their backs were completely bare. They flirted with the two men, hoping to be chosen.
"The girls are getting prettier at the Imperial," Barrett murmured, his eyes sweeping over the women. "Oliver, you choose first."
Oliver wasn't really interested in these women of the night. Such flirtatious women were far less exciting than the female teachers at school, who were proper, respectable women. But Oliver knew that if he didn't pick one, Barrett wouldn't feel at ease. So he casually chose the girl in the blue dress on the far end, and Barrett followed by picking the one with the largest breasts.
