Chapter 29 Since Your Husband's Not at Home, You Must Be Lonely
Audrey JohnsonAudrey took a step back and held up her towel with her hand with a hesitant expression. She wasn't sure if Christopher Miller was telling the truth, but his wife did indeed work as a nurse at the hospital and often work late at night. Christopher Miller, on the other hand, never cooked and always bought his meals outside, so his story seemed plausible.
"Come in," Audrey finally decided to let Christopher MillerChristopher in. After all, they were neighbors, and she had a good relationship with his wife. She didn't want to sour their relationship, thinking that she could quickly give him what he needed and send him on his way.
Christopher was delighted and followed Audrey into the kitchen while his eyes fixated on her long white legs and the round full buttocks under her towel. The scent of her body wash filled his nostrils, which made him feel hot and aroused.
Audrey pointed to bottles on the shelf. "Take it. Just have your wife return it later."
"How could I accept that?," Christopher said. But he took a bottle but didn’t leave. Instead, he tried to strike up a conversation with Audrey.
Audrey responded perfunctorily, but as his comments became more inappropriate, she frowned and said, "It's late. I need to get some rest. Do try another time."
"Oh, okay, sure," Christopher said and reluctantly lifted his feet. He took a few slow steps towards the door, hoping Audrey would ask him to stay. Ever since he had become neighbors with the beautiful Audrey, he had been fascinated with her. Even during sex with his wife, he would fantasize about it with Audrey and had almost called out her name once.
When Audrey's husband was around, Christopher didn't dare make any moves, fearing trouble. But with her husband away for several months now, leaving Audrey alone every night, Christopher saw an opportunity. He believed that a young attractive woman like Audrey, in her peak years, must be craving sex.
Christopher was confident in his appeal. He was decent-looking, humorous, and worked in a government office. Most importantly, he lived next door, which made it easy to get close to Audrey. He thought that with a little care and moves, Audrey would throw herself at him, allowing him to enjoy her beautiful body.
However, despite several visits, Audrey had always treated him indifferently and never showed any signs of interest. This puzzled Christopher. He wondered if Audrey had another man, but he had never seen any other man visit her. Each time, he had to come up with excuses to enter her house, only to be quickly sent away.
Over time, Christopher had almost given up, thinking that Audrey might be a virtuous woman who would rather endure loneliness than betray her husband. But tonight, he saw Audrey being escorted home by a man and then invited him in. Although the man left eventually, he stayed for an hour.
What could they have done in an hour? Christopher's longest session with his wife was only Eighteen minutes. An hour was enough for that guy to have sex with Audrey four times. The thought of that man possibly having sex with Audrey on her bed drove Christopher crazy. His desire for Audrey reignited.
He didn't expect to have Audrey all to himself, but if someone else had already made the first move, he wanted his share, too. He couldn't just watch someone else enjoy the woman he had coveted for months.
But something puzzled Christopher. If it were him, he would have taken full advantage of the opportunity to spend the night with Audrey. How could the man leave so quickly? Maybe he hadn't satisfied Audrey, and she had kicked him out.
The more Christopher thought about it, the more plausible it seemed. Imagine Audrey lying in bed, longing for a man's touch, but he couldn't sit still. He drank a bottle of beer, grabbed another, and headed to Audrey's door, hoping to get lucky.
When Audrey opened the door wrapped in a towel, Christopher's suspicions seemed confirmed. She had just cleaned up after having sex. Maybe her body was still yearning for more.
But Audrey's attitude remained cold, showing no signs of keeping him. Was he really inferior to the man who had just left? Had Audrey already been won over by him, leaving no room for anyone else?
Christopher felt a surge of frustration and wanted to grab Audrey to prove his manly side to her. But he lacked the courage. Under Audrey's icy gaze, he chose to retreat and left obediently.
Audrey sighed in relief once Christopher was gone. She returned to the bathroom to finish her shower, then changed into her pajamas and lay in bed. She knew why Christopher had come so late, but she had always despised him and never given him a chance.
As Christopher had guessed, Audrey had been separated from her husband for over three months. To save on travel expenses, they didn't visit each other, only communicating by phone. But cold phone calls couldn't ease her growing loneliness. She understood her husband's need to work far away but longed for a normal married life. It felt like it had been over a hundred days since they last made love.
Audrey didn't know how she had endured this long or how she would get through the countless lonely nights ahead. But she hadn't yet considered betraying her husband for another man. She knew that if she showed any interest, many men would flock to her. But she didn't want to take that step. Despite Christopher's repeated hints, she remained unmoved.
Audrey felt contempt for Christopher because of his ridiculous posturing as a government official and his cowardice before her. Even if she did seek a affair, it would never be Christopher. She needed a man she could talk with,a man who could connect with her days and nights.
Suddenly, Audrey thought of Kevin Kevin , the tall kind-hearted boy with his high school fantasies and respect for his teacher. Remembering how he had fled her room after her stern reprimand, she felt a warmth in her heart. He was the only man who made her feel safe and secure, though he was just a student. If only he were a bit older...
