Chapter 395: Deadly Attraction to Girls
Naomi gazed at the tall figure of Kevin with a hint of curiosity, extending her hand and cheerfully saying, "Hey there, call me Naomi. When's your birthday?"
"In October," Kevin replied instinctively, shaking Naomi's hand. He felt her small hand was soft and smooth, making him a bit nervous. While he didn't feel out of place in the county, being in the city made him feel like a kid from the countryside, especially facing someone like Naomi, a high-ranking offspring, which made him feel somewhat inadequate.
"I'm in December," Naomi said, clearly impressed by Kevin. She blinked, pursed her lips, and said with a smile, "Then I should call you Kevin big brother, right?"
Seeing Naomi's warm and proactive attitude, Kevin felt a bit awkward. His face reddened, thinking that these high-ranking offspring were indeed different. They were much better at socializing than the girls in his class. Only Fiona's presence could match Naomi's aura.
Angus, seeing his daughter being so friendly with Kevin, was also surprised. He knew his daughter well, with a high spirit that no one in school could match. Even the principal was not in her eyes. He had been worried that she might ignore Kevin, but her proactive attitude put his worries to rest, thinking that they would get along just fine in the future.
In fact, Kevin's image was not bad at all. He was tall, handsome, and had been interacting with mature women like Alissa and Audrey. After experiencing the baptism of love, Kevin exuded a mysterious manly charm that easily attracted young girls like Naomi who were just beginning to explore love.
However, Kevin had no interest in pursuing even pretty girls like Laura, let alone Naomi. His heart was filled with thoughts of Audrey, eager to see her soon. Kevin couldn't wait to excuse himself and go find his cousin.
At that moment, Donna walked into the living room with a plate of sliced watermelon, placed it on the coffee table, and said to Angus with a smile, "Secretary, what would you like for lunch? I can prepare it now."
"No need to trouble yourself," Angus waved his hand and said, "It's Kevin's first visit. We'll go out for lunch. You can rest for now."
"Alright, Secretary."
Donna glanced at Kevin, noting this somewhat shy young man. She had been hearing Angus mention Kevin these past few days, wondering about the relationship between Kevin and Angus. Anyone valued by the Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Government was surely not ordinary.
Angus stood up, smiling, "Kevin, chat with Naomi for a bit. You're both young and have common ground. I'll go handle a few documents, and we'll go out for lunch later." With that, he walked towards the study.
Kevin, seeing Angus's warmth, couldn't find the words to excuse himself. He thought it wouldn't be appropriate to leave right after meeting Angus for the first time. He decided to wait until the afternoon to go to the Teachers College to see Audrey.
"Kevin big brother, let's go to my room," Naomi said with a smile, unabashedly taking Kevin's hand and leading him into her bedroom.
It was Kevin's first time entering a girl's bedroom. He found Naomi's room to be cozy, with pink curtains and bedsheets, and a large plush cat in pink on the bed. It was clearly a young girl's room. There was a desk near the window with a computer on it.
"Kevin big brother, please have a seat," Naomi pulled out a chair for Kevin and asked with a smile, "What would you like to drink? Coke, mango juice, or coffee? They're all in the fridge, I'll get it for you."
"Coke, please."
Kevin loved Coke the most, but due to poor family conditions, he rarely bought it. He could only enjoy it at Albert's place, where there was always a layer of canned drinks in the fridge. After playing basketball, Kevin would go to Albert's house to shower and have a few cans of Coke. The cool drink was always so refreshing. However, he stopped going to Albert's place frequently after having a relationship with Albert's mother, Evelyn.
Naomi quickly fetched two cans of Coke from the living room fridge and opened one for Kevin. With a loud pop, the liquid inside sprayed onto Naomi's chest, causing her to exclaim in surprise.
Seeing Naomi's clothes wet on her chest, sticking to her, revealing her pink bra and even a glimpse of her fair skin, Kevin was stunned. He instinctively reached out to help wipe it off but realized just in time that the person in front of him was not his cousin Audrey, let alone Alissa. He quickly withdrew his hand, feeling relieved. If he had actually touched Naomi's chest just now, she might have thought he was being inappropriate, which would have been disastrous.
Blushing, Naomi covered her chest with her hand, looking a bit shy as she said softly, "Kevin big brother, I want to change my clothes. Could you please step aside for a moment?"
"Oh, sure, sure."
Kevin finally reacted and turned around, facing the wall. He was used to this from Audrey's house, where he would simply turn away when Audrey needed to change. He didn't see anything wrong with his actions.
However, Naomi intended for Kevin to wait in the living room. She was just too embarrassed to ask him directly. Seeing Kevin not leaving but turning to face the wall, she felt a surge of annoyance. She thought this tall and well-spoken young man was much better than the boys in her class. But now, he seemed like a pervert, unwilling to leave while she changed. She wondered if he wanted to peek at her body while she changed clothes. Disappointed, she said coldly, "I'm sorry, Kevin. Please leave my room. I need to change."
