Chapter 1116 Holiday Benefits
“By the way, there will be no classes this afternoon. The school is giving us the afternoon off as a holiday benefit. How about we go shopping and watch a movie together?” Kimberly affectionately held Audrey’s arm. With Grant frequently away on rural aid projects and often not at home, she and Audrey found themselves kindred spirits, spending more time together.
“Alright,” Audrey hesitated briefly. She had thought of celebrating with Kevin, but couldn't bring herself to decline Kimberly’s invitation. With Alissa away, Kimberly was the only colleague she was close to at the school.
“Then it’s settled,” Kimberly suddenly nudged Audrey’s ample breast with her elbow, eyes full of envy. “Audrey, seriously, how did you get so big? Do you have any secret tips?”
“What secret tips? Just have your husband massage them more,” Audrey chuckled.
“No way, did Jason make yours this big? He must be quite something,” Kimberly took her seriously, cupping her own breasts, which were significantly smaller than Audrey’s. “Does it work if I do it myself?”
“I was joking! You really believed me?” Audrey sighed. “By the way, there’s a new beauty salon in the city that offers essential oil massages for breast enhancement. If you consistently stimulate them, they can grow. How about I take you there this afternoon?”
“Sounds perfect! Audrey, you’re a lifesaver,” Kimberly’s eyes lit up as she pulled Audrey towards the office. Not far away, Quentin, dressed in a suit, leered at the two young teachers. Sunset Valley High School’s acknowledged beauties were Audrey, Kimberly, and Vanessa. He had already bedded Vanessa but had yet to conquer Audrey and Kimberly.
Audrey now had backing, so he dared not act recklessly. However, with Kimberly’s husband away in the countryside, Quentin saw an opportunity. This English teacher, despite not having Audrey’s breast size, had a sexy figure with long, slender legs that were irresistibly enticing. The mere sight of her made him hard. Holding Kimberly’s legs all night would be a dream come true. He planned to probe tonight, hoping for a lucky break.
By 7:30, the teachers assembled in the conference room for a simple yet spirited celebration, with commendations for outstanding teachers. Audrey received a city-level excellent teacher certificate.
“Audrey, you’re amazing,” Kimberly said enviously, gazing at the red certificate in Audrey’s hands. “A city-level certificate carries significant weight. It’ll help you with promotions and housing allocations. Being friends with someone like you is stressful.”
“Just lucky, I guess,” Audrey quickly downplayed, feeling uncomfortable. She wasn’t sure how much Oliver and Angus had influenced her obtaining the title. While she could refuse material rewards, she found it hard to reject such honor. She was just an ordinary person, after all, not immune to fame and fortune.
The celebration ended, and most teachers headed to class. Audrey and a few awarded teachers stayed for a meeting. Principal Oliver attended, offering kind words and presenting holiday gifts—an educational book set worth 888 yuan.
Audrey returned to the office with the heavy gift, her arms aching. She couldn’t help but curse Oliver for the impractical choice. “Why books?” she thought. They looked prestigious but offered little real value, filled with content authored by education leaders purely for renown.
“Oh dear, Mrs. Johnson, is this the school’s gift?” Vanessa approached, eyeing the stack on Audrey’s desk enviously. “Only Mrs. Johnson knows how to give thoughtful gifts. Food and drinks are so mundane, but books last a lifetime.”
Audrey couldn’t tell if Vanessa was complimenting or mocking Oliver. With a faint smile, she replied, “If you like, Mrs. Jones, you’re welcome to borrow them.”
“I’ll pass. I barely get through students’ assignments,” Vanessa chuckled. “Mrs. Johnson, the school’s off this afternoon. I’m heading to a beauty salon. Care to join?”
Audrey paused; she had already agreed with Kimberly. Unsure if it was a coincidence or deliberate, she noticed her relationship with Vanessa had improved. Reflecting on past conflicts and her summer trip to Starhaven, Audrey realized there was no need for hostility. After a moment's hesitation, she responded, “I’ve planned to go shopping with Kimberly.”
“Great! The more, the merrier,” Vanessa exclaimed. “We young teachers rarely get time to hang out. I'll call Kimberly, then we’re all set.”
Just then, August, the class representative from Class 55, knocked and entered, blushing as he approached Vanessa. “Mrs. Jones, happy Teacher’s Day,” he said, placing a beautifully wrapped box on her desk before hurrying away.
“Hey, August, wait!” Vanessa laughed. August was an excellent student, but his shyness was akin to a girl’s, blushing at the slightest thing. How different he was from Kevin, she mused. If only the two could balance each other out.
Her thoughts were interrupted by a text from Kevin: “Mrs. Jones, happy Teacher’s Day. Your gift will be ready at noon.”
Smiling, Vanessa glanced at Audrey, feeling a surge of pride. It was delightful to know Kevin still thought of her. She quickly replied, “Kevin, come to my place tonight. I'll take good care of you.”
As she awaited Kevin’s reply, more students entered, bearing gifts for their teachers. Cards, flowers, chocolates, and snacks nearly turned the office into a mini-market. Vanessa and Audrey received the most, their desks piled high. Despite feigned complaints, they were secretly pleased by the students' affection, a testament to their teaching success.
In a corner of the office, Quentin’s face darkened. His desk was bare, a glaring sign of his unpopularity among students, and it infuriated him.
In Class 57, Kevin hurriedly sent messages to several female teachers. He had already messaged Alissa and Audrey the day before, and now he turned to Kimberly, Vanessa, and Grace.
Kimberly simply replied with a thank you. Vanessa’s invitation to spend the night left Kevin troubled. The woman’s insatiable appetite was exasperating. Her husband must have worn quite a few green hats by now, he thought, feeling a twinge of pity amidst his plans.
