Chapter 1241
Kevin, Maurice, and Fiona were chilling on the couch, chatting away. Kevin started feeling a bit guilty and noticed it was getting late. He got up to leave, thinking he probably wouldn't be able to do what Natalie had asked him to.
Just as he reached the front door, Armando walked in with a big smile. "Kevin, why are you leaving just as I get back? Come on, join me for a chess game in the study." Before Kevin could say anything, Armando pulled him into the study and set up the chessboard.
As they played, Kevin's mind raced. He needed to broach the topic of the administrative level upgrade, but couldn't figure out a natural way to do it.
Distracted, he quickly lost the game.
"What's on your mind, Kevin?" Armando asked with a smile as he reset the chess pieces. "Is it the pressure of studying? Believe me, as County Executive, I'm under a lot of pressure myself. We just had a meeting about that administrative level upgrade, and I've had a constant stream of visitors to my office."
"Really? Why?" Kevin feigned casual curiosity, his interest piqued.
"Well, Let's just say they all want a piece of the pie," Armando said with a slight smile. "With such a big upgrade, involving tens of billions of dollars, who wouldn't be tempted? Plus, these people have connections high up the ladder, even beyond Harmony County. Being County Executive isn't all it's cracked up to be."
Kevin listened, a bit confused about why Armando would talk about such serious stuff with a student like him. He knew he couldn't really help.
But Armando quickly added, "Kevin, sometimes being an official is just like being a student. The more you hesitate, the less you achieve. I can only talk to you about this, you understand? I can't discuss it with anyone else." He then started outlining his plans for the administrative upgrade.
Kevin realized Armando wasn't looking for advice but just needed someone to talk to. The responsibilities of a County Executive were way beyond Kevin's understanding.
An hour later, Kevin left Armando's house and called Natalie on his way home, sharing Armando's thoughts with her.
"Kevin, you're amazing. I knew I could count on you. I'll reward you properly next time; you can have whatever you want," Natalie said, thrilled. She had gathered some info about the government's plans through other channels, but they were pretty vague. Knowing Armando's thoughts helped her secure her interests.
Natalie had already reached out to several out-of-town businessmen to form a business alliance centered around her. If she could snag the projects from the administrative upgrade, she'd be able to go toe-to-toe with Harmony County's richest man, Lawrence, and wouldn't have to worry about Jasper's retaliation.
Lately, there had been a lot of new faces in Harmony County, and fights were breaking out more often. Natalie, always sharp, sensed that Jerome's influence might be creeping into Harmony County. Jasper, the local powerhouse, wasn't the type to just sit back and let that happen. A showdown was definitely on the horizon, but when it would actually go down was anyone's guess.
But honestly, whether Jasper lived or died didn't matter to Natalie anymore. She was all about stacking up that cash, making those guys who once looked down on her bow at her feet. And then, she wanted to get close to Kevin, enjoying a passionate connection that was everything she had ever dreamed of.
When Kevin got home, he saw that Audrey was already back. She was leaning on the couch with a remote in her hand, but her eyes were closed. She had clearly fallen asleep while watching TV.
Audrey looked really worn out. Seeing her peaceful, fair face, Kevin felt a pang of heartache. He quietly walked over, took the remote from her hand, turned off the TV, and grabbed a blanket from the bedroom to cover her. Suddenly, Audrey opened her eyes, and when she saw Kevin, she relaxed and sleepily said, "Kevin, there you are."
"Audrey, why don't you sleep in the bed?" Kevin asked, placing his hand on her smooth calf.
"I took a shower and was waiting for my hair to dry. I must have dozed off; these past few days have been really exhausting," Audrey said as she sat up, looking tired. "You got back so late tonight; I thought you might be spending the night at your own place."
"I was at a classmate's house doing homework," Kevin lied casually. Seeing Audrey's ample bosom, he got excited again and leaned against her, gently rubbing his head against her soft breasts, enjoying the plush sensation.
"You're being quite good," Audrey murmured, trying to push Kevin's head away, but he wouldn't budge. "Don't lie on me; I can't breathe."
Kevin laughed and got up from Audrey, patting his thigh, "Then you lie on me. I don't mind."
"I'm not falling for that, Kevin," Audrey said with a smug smile. She was about to get up and head to the bedroom when her phone rang. Seeing it was her editor, Dan, she answered.
"Audrey, I've coordinated with the publisher. When can you go sign the contract?" Dan asked.
"How about this holiday?" Audrey thought for a moment, then added, "Is it in Skyview City?"
"No, this publishing house is in Oceancrest City, not in our state," Dan explained. "But you can fly there; they'll cover all your travel and accommodation expenses."
"Alright," Audrey agreed after a moment of thought. "Dan, I really appreciate your help."
"You're welcome, Audrey. It's my job," Dan replied. "You've really saved our entire web library. I can't thank you enough."
After Audrey hung up, Kevin couldn't help but say, "Audrey, I want to go with you."
Laura had previously asked Kevin to accompany her to Oceancrest City, and although he had agreed, he was reluctant to leave Audrey. Now that Audrey also had to go to Oceancrest City, it seemed like a perfect coincidence.
"Go for what? I'm not going there for fun," Audrey said, giving Kevin a stern look. "You stay home and do your homework. I'll be back soon."
"Audrey, please let me go with you," Kevin pleaded, clinging to Audrey and groping her warm, curvy body. "You're so beautiful; what if some bad guy targets you? Besides, you still owe me for what you promised last time. It's my birthday during the holiday; you have to make it up to me."
"Fine," Audrey conceded, flustered by the hardness pressing against her through his pants. She also admitted to herself that having company on the trip might be safer. "But I need to check with Bethany. And you have to finish your homework. And behave yourself. No funny business."
"Audrey, call her now," Kevin urged excitedly.
Audrey had no choice but to call Bethany. Bethany didn't object, perhaps feeling guilty for not letting Kevin go out during the summer. She just asked Audrey to keep an eye on Kevin.
Kevin was overjoyed, his hands wandering all over Audrey, occasionally slipping under her nightgown to caress her smooth, fair skin, making Audrey pant and blush.
"Alright, stop it and go to sleep," Audrey scolded, grabbing Kevin's hands. "If you're coming, finish your homework. No excuses. And no more of this…behavior. Think about your health."
"Gotcha, Audrey," Kevin quickly withdrew his hands. He had learned not to risk losing the bigger picture for small gains.
The next day, Kevin went to school to meet with Laura. He told her about his plans to go to Oceancrest City with Audrey. When Laura heard that Audrey was also going, she was thrilled. Since Laura had to leave a day earlier for her competition, they agreed to meet up once they were both in Oceancrest City.
In the days that followed, Kevin really buckled down, focusing on his studies and not bothering Audrey at home. He diligently did his homework, which made Audrey very happy. Kevin was actually a motivated student who knew his limits. With guidance from both Alissa and Audrey, he wouldn't go astray.
However, Kevin did manage to sneak in some time with Natalie. Her natural allure and proactive, skilled techniques in bed were something Audrey couldn't match just yet, giving Kevin immense satisfaction. Of course, Audrey's shy and charming demeanor was something a flirtatious woman like Natalie couldn't compare to.
Finally, the day before the holiday arrived. At 7 PM, Kevin and Audrey took a taxi to Starfall Town's airport, checked in their luggage, and waited at the gate.
It was Kevin's first time flying, and he was super excited. He stood by the huge floor-to-ceiling glass window, watching the planes taxiing on the runway outside. Audrey called out to him a few times, but he was too engrossed in his phone and the view to pay attention, so she let him be.
Suddenly, a flight attendant walked by. She was taller than Kevin, wearing a red uniform, flesh-colored stockings on her long legs, black shoes, and a colorful scarf around her neck. She looked particularly glamorous and sexy.
Kevin was stunned, watching the flight attendant's round, perky hips sway as she walked down the aisle. He snapped back to reality, thinking that the flight attendant's figure was nothing compared to Audrey's. It was just the uniform that made her look so enticing. If Audrey wore that uniform, she'd look a hundred times better. He made a mental note to have Audrey wear a flight attendant uniform for fun someday; it would be incredibly exciting.
He turned to look at Audrey and saw a man sitting next to her, talking to her.
Kevin momentarily lost focus, realizing that Audrey had been approached by a stranger. He quickly hurried over to intervene.
The man was still chatting with Audrey, smiling, "Hey, are you on this flight too? What a coincidence! It seems we are destined to meet."
Kevin inwardly smirked at the man's words, recognizing the ulterior motive behind his sudden interest. With only one flight available to Oceancrest City at that moment, it was clear that the man had singled out Audrey because she was alone and strikingly beautiful.
