Chapter 660 Do Bad Things Secretly
"It's okay, Kimberly, Kevin has already talked to me about it." Audrey saw Kimberly's voice choked up, feeling very sympathetic towards her. She sighed inwardly, realizing that everyone has their own difficulties. While she worried about her husband not being at home, Kimberly's husband was indeed at home, but their life was not enviable. "Your husband's personality is indeed too domineering. How can he not trust you like this? It's really unfair."
"That's why I want to move out and live at the school, to show him that I'm serious," Kimberly wiped away her tears, speaking with determination. "If he doesn't realize his mistakes, I won't go back home."
The two of them went to the logistics department to get the keys. The faculty dormitory was located in the northeast corner of the school, consisting of a row of two-story brick buildings with red walls and tiles, at least twenty years old. Newly graduated young teachers would be temporarily assigned here until they got married and moved out.
Beyond a surrounding wall, they could see a tall scaffolding outside, which was the construction site of the school's faculty apartment building. It was currently under intense construction and expected to be completed by the end of the year. Many teachers in the school were hoping to be allocated their own apartment. Audrey was no exception. She looked at the five-story building that was already constructed, feeling excited. Despite Oliver's dubious intentions towards her, she had to admit that he had done a lot for the school.
Their dormitory was on the second floor, in a room near the west side. It had been unoccupied for a long time and was dusty. Kimberly and Audrey cleaned the room together.
At that moment, the head of the academic affairs office, James, hurried over and had someone install an electric fan. He grinned and said, "Mrs. Johnson, I specially took this from the storeroom. It's hot in the summer, so don't get heatstroke. Mr. Jones will blame me for being careless."
"Thank you, Mr. James," Audrey said with a smile. "You're too kind."
"Not at all, not at all, just a small matter."
James couldn't help but glance at Audrey's ample bosom that was swaying gently. Her breasts were truly large, no wonder even Oliver couldn't resist. He wondered if Oliver had touched them. Unfortunately, he was just a small head of the academic affairs office. Otherwise, he might have had the chance to play with this sexy and charming teacher's ample bosom.
After James left, Kimberly smiled and said, "Mrs. Johnson, you're benefiting from your reputation. Otherwise, why would James be so enthusiastic to give you an electric fan? He's always one to go with the flow. You're quite popular in the school now, and no one dares to offend you."
"Who says that?" Audrey was surprised. It was the first time she had heard such a thing.
"Everyone is saying that," Kimberly said with a smile. "You really stood out during the training this time. Mr. Jones values you a lot, and everyone says you might even become the head of the English teaching research office."
"I don't want to be a head of anything," Audrey shook her head. "I just want to be a regular teacher, no other ambitions. It's just a rumor."
"What's wrong with that?" Kimberly shrugged. "The bigger the position you can handle, the better. It's not fair for those incompetent people to get ahead. If I had the chance, I wouldn't miss it."
Audrey was taken aback. Her personality was introverted, unlike Vanessa's scheming nature or Kimberly's assertiveness. She preferred to stay out of the limelight. But because of her nature, she had been bullied by Quentin. If someone like Quentin became the head of the teaching research office, her days would be even harder.
However, Audrey didn't want to be a head of anything. She thought someone else would be more suitable, and that was Alissa, the homeroom teacher of Class 57.
Alissa was a senior teacher at the school, with excellent teaching quality and many awards. She was highly respected in the school. If it weren't for Quentin's interference, she might have become the vice principal.
So Audrey wanted to push Alissa forward, blocking Quentin's path. She quickly went to Alissa's office.
"Audrey, what brings you here?" Alissa was preparing her lessons. Seeing Audrey come in, she smiled and said, "Wait a moment, let me finish reading this material."
Audrey sat on the sofa, picked up a newspaper, and after a while, Alissa got up and sat on the sofa, smiling, "Alright, what's the matter that the beautiful Audrey has come to visit me? You're quite a celebrity in the school now, my office is shining brightly because of you."
"Sis, stop teasing me," Audrey blushed slightly, playfully scolding her. "You know I'm not like that."
"Okay, no more jokes," Alissa said seriously. "What's the matter you came to me for?"
"Sis, do you want to be the head of the teaching research office?" Audrey asked.
Alissa was taken aback, looking at Audrey carefully. It was strange for Audrey to bring up such a topic. Usually, when Audrey came to her, it was either to vent or to ask about teaching issues. Today was different.
She smiled faintly and said, "Who wouldn't want to be the head? But you know Quentin has his eye on that position. If it weren't for his own mistakes last time, he would already be the head of the office. His uncle is the deputy director of the education bureau. Who can compete with him? I don't have the ambition for that."
"Sis, you have to fight for it."
Audrey was anxious. If even Alissa didn't step up, then no one would be able to compete with Quentin. She held Alissa's hand and said, "If you really have the intention, I'll help you figure it out."
