Chapter 587 The Beautiful Wife
Zachary looked at his wife's rosy cheeks, becoming more and more fascinated by her beauty. He couldn't understand why he found her even more beautiful than before. He realized he hadn't been cherishing his beautiful wife enough.
At that moment, Kevin walked out of the living room and said to Alissa, "Mrs. Garcia, I have something to attend to at home, so I'll take my leave." Earlier, Bethany had instructed him to come back quickly as they needed to deliver food to Grace's house. Kevin had been delaying at Alissa's house for almost two hours, and if he didn't leave soon, it would be noon.
"Alright then. Remember to review today's lesson when you get back."
Alissa didn't want Kevin to stay any longer, to avoid any trouble, especially since they were in her own home. The thought of being intimate with Kevin in front of her husband filled her with a strong sense of guilt and shame.
Zachary rubbed his hands together with a smile and said, "Kevin, come by more often."
"Sure, Mr. Zachary. Goodbye."
Seeing Zachary's smiling face, Kevin suddenly felt uneasy and quickly left Alissa's house. Upon returning home, Bethany asked him to deliver food to Grace's house. Kevin arrived at Grace's house, knocked on the door, and was met by a short boy standing at the entrance. Seeing Kevin, the boy's expression changed, and he asked, "Who are you looking for?"
Kevin knew the boy was Grace's son, Andy. He smiled and said, "You must be Andy. I'm here to see your mom. She's like a godmother to me."
"You're talking nonsense. When did my mom become your godmother?" Andy was surprised and, recalling the scene he witnessed at the clothing store, he became even more furious. Coldly, he said, "Leave, I don't know you."
As Andy moved to close the door, Kevin, feeling irritated, pushed the door, causing Andy to fall to the ground with a cry.
Grace heard the commotion and came out from the kitchen. Seeing Kevin at the door and her son on the floor, she furrowed her brows and asked, "Kevin, Andy, what's going on here?"
Andy got up from the floor, angrily approached his mother, and said, "Mom, this guy insists you're his godmother. I didn't let him in, but he forced his way in. Please call the police and have him arrested."
"Don't talk nonsense." Grace scolded her son and said, "I am his godmother. I discussed it with your aunt. I forgot to tell you. From now on, Kevin is your godbrother. He performs better academically than you, so you should learn from him, got it?"
"Mom, are you kidding me?"
Andy was dumbfounded, realizing that his mother was indeed Kevin's godmother. He hadn't expected this revelation, giving Kevin more reason to visit his mother.
"Andy, you and Kevin watch TV for a while. I'll cut some watermelon for you."
Grace glanced at Kevin, who winked at her, causing her cheeks to redden slightly before she turned and went into the kitchen.
In the living room, only Andy and Kevin remained, creating a tense atmosphere. Andy sat on the sofa, ignoring Kevin completely.
Feeling uncomfortable, Kevin decided to go into the kitchen. Seeing Grace holding a knife to cut the watermelon, he quickly offered, "Let me do it, godmother. Be careful not to cut yourself."
Hearing Kevin address her as godmother, Grace felt a strange sensation. It seemed like there was a more intimate connection between them. Of course, their relationship was much closer than a typical godmother-son relationship.
"Where's your mom, Kevin?"
Grace handed the knife to Kevin and asked with a smile, "She's not here. Let's enjoy the watermelon together."
After cutting the watermelon, Kevin handed a piece to Grace, saying, "Godmother, this piece is the sweetest. Please have it."
Grace, noticing her son watching TV in the living room, quickly ate the watermelon. She then playfully scolded Kevin, "Andy can be a bit stubborn. As his godbrother, you should be patient with him and not argue with him."
Feeling a bit embarrassed about his earlier actions with Andy, Kevin assured, "Don't worry, godmother. I'll take care of Andy. If anyone bullies him at school, tell him to come to me, and I'll have his back."
"Alright, you're not his nanny. Focus on your own studies at school." Grace continued, "Also, don't come to the store during lunchtime for now. Focus on your exams. After the exams, I'll spend more time with you."
After their encounter at the clothing store, Grace had reflected on her behavior and decided to focus on running the clothing store with Bethany. She didn't want to become a promiscuous woman and was determined to maintain her integrity and family values.
"Okay, godmother."
Kevin felt a bit helpless but understood that Grace had his best interests at heart. He observed Grace, admiring her figure in sport shorts and a blue t-shirt, feeling a mix of desire and respect for her.
Grace, sensing Kevin's intense gaze, handed him a piece of watermelon, saying, "Here, have some watermelon. It's hot today. Don't get heatstroke."
After finishing the watermelon, Kevin noticed Andy still watching TV in the living room and felt uneasy staying there. He told Grace, "Godmother, I should head home now."
"Don't rush. It's hot outside. Stay for lunch." Grace frowned and said firmly, "This is your first time at your godmother's house. If you leave now, don't bother coming back."
Reluctantly, Kevin decided to stay, even though he felt uncomfortable. While Grace was busy in the kitchen, he and Andy sat in the living room, both feeling a sense of animosity towards each other.
Eventually, Andy went to the kitchen and expressed his dissatisfaction to Grace, "Mom, why did you become Kevin's godmother? He's just a troublemaker who often gets into fights at school. You should send him away. I don't want him in our house."
"Why are you talking nonsense?" Grace shook her head helplessly. "Kevin excels academically and is one of the top students in his class. He's much better than you. I wish Kevin were my own son. I'd have less to worry about."
Andy, seeing his mother defend Kevin, felt frustrated. He went back to his room, thinking about how to get rid of the despicable Kevin.
